ALASKA STATE TROOPERS

WARRANT ARREST

Sept. 2, 9:19 p.m.: Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near Mile 3 of the Big Lake Road in Big Lake for a moving violation. The driver was identified as 19-year-old Daniel G. Bailey of Houston. Investigation revealed Bailey had a $500 outstanding warrant for failure to appear, original charge of driving while license suspended. Subsequent investigation revealed Bailey's license was also revoked. Bailey was arrested and was remanded at Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on the warrant and the charge of driving while license revoked. Combined bail was set at $1,500

Sept. 2, 9:19 p.m.: Troopers contacted 19-year-old James T. Atwood of Big Lake near Mile 3 of Big Lake Road in Big Lake. Atwood showed up on scene at a traffic stop to pick up the vehicle that his friend was driving. Investigation revealed that Atwood had an outstanding $750 warrant for failure to comply with judgment on an original charge of minor consuming alcohol. Atwood was arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility.

Sept. 2, 8 p.m.: Troopers arrested James L. Martin, 20, of Copper Center on two outstanding arrest warrants at Mile 32 of the Glenn Highway in Wasilla. Martin was contacted by troopers during a traffic stop after a vehicle Martin was occupying was stopped for a traffic violation. An investigation revealed Martin had two outstanding arrest warrants, one for failing to report to jail to serve time for a minor consuming alcohol conviction, and one for failing to take alcohol assessment classes. Martin was transported and booked at Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility.

Sept. 1, 9:30 p.m.: Troopers conducted a traffic stop near Mile 7 of the Old Glenn on a 2004 Dodge pickup. Investigation determined the passenger, John Winterholler, 23, of Anchorage had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. One stemmed from an original charge of misconduct involving a controlled substance and the other from the original charge of no motor vehicle insurance. Winterholler was arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where bail was set at $750.

Sept. 1, 7:44 p.m.: Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 1989 Ford pickup near the intersection of Clapp Road and Knik Goose Bay Road. Investigation determined the passenger, Dustin Hill, 21, of Wasilla had an outstanding warrant for his arrest stemming from an original charge of driving while license revoked. Hill was arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where bail was set at $500 cash only.

Sept. 2, 2:40 p.m.: Troopers contacted Michael Stockton, 18, of Wasilla. Stockton was contacted during a traffic stop near Brockton Drive and Seldon Road in Wasilla while driving a 2000 Ford Explorer. Investigation determined Stockton's Alaska driver’s license was revoked. He was issued a summons and released.

Sept. 2, 4:45 p.m.: Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Nelson Road near Knik Road in Wasilla for an equipment violation. The driver was identified as 27-year-old Hillarie A. Sweeden of Wasilla. Investigation revealed Sweeden's license was revoked. Sweeden was arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where she was remanded on a charge of driving while license revoked. Bail was set at $500.00.

Sept. 3, 12:17 a.m.: The trooper’s South-Central DUI Enforcement Team stopped a vehicle near Mile 1.5 of Knik-Goose Bay Road in Wasilla for an equipment violation. The operator was identified as Justin E. Watkins, 26, of Houston. Watkins was found to be operating a vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. Watkins was issued a summons to appear in court for driving while license suspended and released at the scene. 

Sept. 2, 9:21 p.m.: The South-Central DUI Enforcement Team stopped a vehicle near the intersection of the Parks Highway and Sylvan Road in Wasilla for an equipment violation. The operator was identified as Dustin D. Collins, 22, of Palmer. Collins was found to be operating the vehicle with a revoked driver’s license. Collins was issued a summons to appear in court for driving while license revoked and released at the scene.

Sept. 3, 3 a.m.: The South Central DUI Enforcement Team stopped a vehicle near Mile 50 of the Parks Highway in Wasilla for a moving violation. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Don Stevens, 35, of Wasilla. Stevens was found to be operating the vehicle with a revoked driver’s license and was arrested on scene. Stevens was remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where he was held on $1,000 bail.

Sept. 3, 6:25 p.m.: Troopers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding 85 mph in a posted 65 mph zone near Mile 34 of the Glenn Highway. Investigation revealed the driver of the vehicle, Erik K. Bottimore, 34, of Anchorage, was operating with a revoked driver’s license. Bottimore was issued a summons and was assigned a date to appear in court. Bottimore was also issued a traffic citation for speeding.

Sept. 3, 6:13 p.m.: The South-Central DUI Enforcement Team conducted a traffic stop on a black 1990 Toyota pickup for an equipment violation near the intersection of the Parks Highway and Seward Meridian Parkway in Wasilla. The operator was identified as Gregory Lynn Sholly, 25, of Anchorage. Sholly was found to be operating the vehicle while his license was suspended for failure to maintain financial responsibility. Sholly was issued a summons for driving while his license is suspended.

DUI

Sept. 2, 11:19 p.m.: The South-Central DUI Enforcement Team responded to a vehicle in the ditch near Mile 2 of Hollywood Road in Big Lake. The operator was identified as Peter Seleverstavich Murachev, 29, of Big Lake. Murachev was found to be operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Murachev was arrested on scene for allegedly driving under the influence and remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility, where he was held on $750 bail.

Sept. 3, 3:06 a.m.: The South Central DUI Enforcement Team contacted the driver of a 1997 Chevy Suburban in the Carrs parking lot in Wasilla after it was stopped for erratic driving. The driver, Scott Pope, 38, of Wasilla was found to be operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Pope was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility and held on $250 bail.

Sept. 3, 4:35 p.m.: Troopers arrested Richard A. Resch, 68, of Wasilla. Resch was stopped while driving his 1991 Chevy pickup near Mile 76.5 of the Glenn Highway after a REDDI report was aired regarding his manner of driving. Investigation determined Resch was operating his vehicle while allegedly under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and remanded to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where bail was set at $2,500.

Sept. 3, 6:54 p.m.: The South Central DUI Enforcement Team stopped a vehicle for erratic driving near Mile 10 of Knik Goose Bay Road in Wasilla. The operator, identified as Cynthia L. Fisher, 45, of Wasilla, was found to be operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Fisher was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility, where she was held on $1,500 bail.

Sept. 3, 6:45 p.m.: The South Central DUI Enforcement Team stopped a vehicle at Church Road and Spruce Drive in Wasilla for a moving violation. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Efim Ivanov, 41, of Wasilla. Ivanov was found to be operating the vehicle while allegedly under the influence of alcohol and with a revoked driver’s license. Further investigation revealed Ivanov has been convicted of two prior driving under the influence offenses within the last 10 years making this a felony offense. Ivanov was arrested on scene and remanded to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility, where he was held on $7,500 bail.

Sept. 3, 10:46 p.m.: The South Central DUI Enforcement Team stopped a red 1993 Ford pickup for erratic driving near Mile 6 of Knik Goose Bay Road in Wasilla. The operator, identified as Allen Ulman, 47, of Palmer was found to be operating the vehicle allegedly under the influence of alcohol. Also in the vehicle at the time of contact were four children riding in the bed of the pickup. Ulman was also found to have been convicted of driving under the influence at least two times in the last 10 years making this offense a felony. Ulman was arrested for felony driving under the influence and four counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Ulman was remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility and held on $5,000 bail.

Sept. 4, 3:05 a.m.: Troopers contacted Sean Monsen, 30, of Eagle River after a report of a disturbance near Mile 51 of the Parks Highway. Investigation revealed that Monsen was operating his 1996 Polaris ATV while allegedly intoxicated. Monsen was arrested and booked at Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on the charge of driving under the influence with a set bail of $1,500.

ASSAULT

Sept. 3, 3:07 a.m.: Troopers responded to a residence on Stanley Drive in Wasilla for a report of an assault. Investigation revealed Steven Carrier, 51 of Big Lake allegedly assaulted a family member and had an outstanding warrant for his arrest on an original charge of driving under the influence and driving while his license was suspended. Carrier was arrested, transported and remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility and held on no bail.

MVC

Sept. 3, 9:45 a.m.: Troopers responded to a two-vehicle collision near Copper Creek Road and Tanana Drive in Wasilla. Jennifer Neitzke, 32, of Wasilla was operating her blue 1984 Dodge Ram pickup truck when she backed into a gold 1996 Saturn sedan operated by Timothy Mack, 31, of Wasilla. Neitzke was backing out of a driveway on Copper Creek Road and struck Mack's vehicle as he was traveling north on Copper Creek Road. Damage to the vehicles was minimal. Estimated cost for repairs to both vehicles was $2,500. Neitzke was issued a citation for allegedly failing to exercise due care to avoid a collision.

Sept. 3, 5:47 p.m.: Troopers responded to a two-vehicle collision near the intersection of Meadow Lakes Loop and Irish Setter Lane in Wasilla. Investigation revealed an unknown driver was traveling west on Meadow Lakes Loop on a 1993 Harley Davidson motorcycle. Faleen Richardson, 41, of Wasilla was driving east on Meadow Lakes Loop in a 1999 Ford Pickup. The driver of the motorcycle lost control, laid the motorcycle on its side and entered the opposing lane of travel. The Harley Davidson then collided with the Ford pickup. The driver of the motorcycle fled the scene into the woods. Trooper K-9 Roelle followed a fresh set of tracks to a nearby residence. Attempts to contact the individual at the residence were not successful. There were no injuries reported. Damage to the Ford is estimated at $600 and damage to the Harley Davidson is estimated at $1,500. The investigation is ongoing.

Sept. 3, 2 p.m.: Troopers responded to the intersection of the Glenn Highway and Inner Springer Loop to investigate the report of a two-car motor vehicle collision. An investigation revealed that a black 1993 Saab passenger car, driven by a 16-year-old from Anchorage was traveling north on the Glenn Highway when a blue 2005 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by Anna Elise Barnes, 23, of Anchorage was attempting to make a left turn onto the Glenn Highway from Inner Springer Loop. Barnes failed to yield right of way to the teen’s vehicle. Barnes' vehicle was struck on the side by the Saab. No injuries were reported, all occupants were reported to be wearing seatbelts. Barnes was issued a citation for allegedly failing to yield right of way when turning left.

MICS

Sept. 3, 9:12 p.m.: The South-Central DUI Enforcement Team conducted a traffic stop on a tan 2002 Dodge Neon near the intersection of Pittman Road and Karen Drive in Wasilla in response to a REDDI report. The operator was identified as Vera Anjeanette Butler, 38, of Wasilla after initially providing a false name. Butler was found to be operating a vehicle while her license was allegedly suspended for failure to comply with financial responsibility. Butler was also found to be in possession of alleged controlled substances. Butler was arrested for misconduct involving a controlled substance IV and VI, driving while her license is suspended and providing false information. Butler was remanded to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on $5,000 bail.

MCA

Sept. 4, 12:18 a.m.: The South Central DUI Enforcement Team stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation near Mile 41 of the Parks Highway in Wasilla. The operator, identified as Jean Santa-Crose, 19, of Palmer was found to be operating the vehicle on a  suspended driver’s license and after having consumed alcohol. Santa-Crose was issued a summons to appear in the Palmer Court for driving while her license is suspended, minor operating after consuming alcohol and minor consuming alcohol.

Sept. 4, 12:20 a.m.: Troopers stopped a white 1987 Oldsmobile two-door on the Parks Highway near Palmer Wasilla Highway for an equipment violation. Investigation revealed that a 17-year-old male of Anchorage was allegedly an intoxicated passenger. The 17-year- old male was issued a summons for minor consuming alcohol and released at the scene to a sober adult.

THEFT

Sept. 4, 1:40 a.m.: A Butte resident called troopers and reported that his black 1993 Ford Taurus four-door sedan had been stolen. Investigation revealed that about 1:25 a.m. Sept. 4, a 14-year-old male of Butte and one 15-year-old male from Anchorage allegedly stole the vehicle from the complainant's yard and attempted to drive to Anchorage. On Sept. 4, around 1:55 a.m., troopers located and stopped the vehicle on the Old Glenn Highway near the intersection with the Glenn Highway in Butte. The 14-year-old male was driving the vehicle without a valid operator's license. The 14-year-old male was released at the scene to his parents while the 15-year-old male was arrested and transported to Mat-Su Youth Facility in Palmer where he was held without bail.

PROTECTIVE ORDER VIOLATION

Sept. 4, 8:40 a.m.: Troopers investigated a reported domestic violence protective order violation. Investigation revealed that about 8:30 p.m. Sept. 3, 59-year-old David E. Batt of Wasilla violated a protective order when he telephoned the respondent and left a message at her place of work. Troopers were unable to contact Batt and a warrant for his arrest has been requested.
