ALASKA STATE TROOPERS

ASSAULT

Oct. 13, 2:26 p.m.: A 17-year-old Wasilla male reported he was assaulted off Schrock Road in Wasilla. The teen reported being punched in the face but refused medical attention. The suspect was gone when troopers arrived. An investigation continues.

Oct. 16, 7:41 a.m.: Jacob Stamm, 28, of Wasilla was arrested for threatening a family member with a sword and physically assaulting the family member. Stamm booked into the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on charges of assault III and assault IV.

DUI

Oct. 7, 2:41 a.m.: The South-Central DUI Enforcement Team responded to a single-vehicle motor vehicle accident near Mile 13 Old Glenn Highway in Palmer. Investigation revealed Theresa Kern, 32, of Anchorage was driving southbound on the Old Glenn Highway and lost control of her 2003 Chevy Tahoe while negotiating a corner and overturned her vehicle into the ditch. Kern was wearing her seat belt and reported no injuries. Kern was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility and held on $1,000 bail.

Oct. 7, 10:37 p.m.: The South-Central DUI Enforcement Team stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Horizon Drive and Starlight Drive in Wasilla for a moving violation. Michelle E. Daniels, 45, of Palmer was arrested for driving under the influence and remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on $300 bail.

Oct. 12, 8:18 p.m.: Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 1991 Dodge pickup after it had been called in as a REDDI vehicle and additionally for driving without its headlights activated. Investigation revealed Michael Patterson, 49, of Wasilla was driving under the influence of alcohol. Patterson was arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where he was held on $500 bail.

Oct. 13, 3:15 a.m.: The Trooper South Central DUI Enforcement Team stopped a vehicle near Mile 5 Knik-Goose Bay Road in Wasilla for erratic driving. Kristina Elliott, 27, of Wasilla was found to be operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and with a suspended driver license. Elliott was arrested on scene and remanded to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where she was held on $500 bail.

Oct. 12, 11:20 p.m.: The Trooper South Central DUI Enforcement Team stopped a vehicle near Church Road and Seldon Road in Wasilla for a moving violation. Christopher Anderson, 25, of Wasilla was found to be operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol and with a suspended driver license. Further investigation revealed Anderson had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for failure to appear on the original charge of driving without insurance. Anderson was arrested on scene and remanded to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where he was held on $1,250 bail.

Oct. 13, 1:59 a.m.: The Trooper South Central DUI Enforcement Team responded to a reported fight in progress at a residence located on Wassim Drive in Wasilla. While on scene, troopers contacted Roberto Garcia, 52, of Wasilla. Garcia was found to have driven to the scene allegedly under the influence of alcohol. Garcia was arrested for driving under the influence and remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial facility on a $500 bail.

Oct. 13, 2:51 a.m.: Troopers arrested Eddie V. Chriscoe, 47, of Wasilla for driving under the influence after the vehicle he was driving was stopped for swerving on the Palmer-Wasilla Highway near Hyer Road. Chriscoe was transported to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility and remanded into their custody. Bail was set at $500.

Oct. 14, 2:15 a.m.: The Trooper South Central DUI Enforcement Team responded to a reported male passed out behind the wheel of a vehicle in the parking lot of an apartment complex located at the end of Gala Drive in Wasilla. Investigation determined Travis M. Lindham, 19, of Wasilla was impaired and as he fell asleep while seated in the driver seat of his vehicle with the key in the ignition, his head hit the horn which alerted residents in the area. Lindham was arrested for driving under the influence, minor operating a vehicle after consuming alcohol, and minor consuming alcohol. Lindham was remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on a $500 bail.

Oct. 14, 5:12 a.m.: The Trooper South Central DUI Enforcement Team stopped to check on a vehicle observed to spin out of control and into the ditch near Mile 4 of the Palmer-Wasilla Highway near Palmer. The operator was identified as Ben N. Meyer, 37, of Palmer. Meyer was found to be operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Meyer was also found to have two prior DUI convictions within the last 10 years. Meyer was arrested for felony DUI and remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on a $7,500 bail.

Oct. 14, 5:50 p.m.: Troopers contacted Liliya Syrnichenko, 27, of Wasilla after a report of vehicle vandalism on Jerry Circle in Big Lake. Investigation found Syrnichenko to have been operating a motor vehicle under the influence. Syrnichenko has been convicted twice of DUI in the last 10 years, making this a felony. Syrnichenko also entered a residence after being told she did not have permission to be there and was arrested for criminal trespass and DUI. Syrnichenko was subsequently charged with felony refusal after she failed to submit to a chemical test. Syrnichenko was remanded into Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where she was held on $5,000 bail and a court-approved third party.

THEFT

Oct. 13: A 20-year-old Wasilla man reported to troopers that items were stolen from his 1989 Chevy pickup near the intersection of Knik-Goose Bay and Edlund roads in Wasilla. Investigation found the theft occurred between 9 p.m. on Oct. 11 and 8 a.m. on Oct. 13. The license plates, FFK687, and snowboarding items were taken from the vehicle. Total loss is estimated at $650. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact troopers at 373-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 745-3333. Investigation continues.

Oct. 14, 10:05 a.m.: Troopers responded to Porcupine Avenue for a reported theft of stereo equipment from a vehicle. A 24-year-old Wasilla man stated some time between 4 and 9 a.m. on Oct. 14, stereo equipment was taken from a vehicle parked in his driveway. The items taken include stereo equipment valued at $1,700. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the troopers at 745-2131 or Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.  

Oct. 14, 12:52 p.m.: A 50-year-old Anchorage man reported the theft of a 2004 Ski-Doo 800 from his Point MacKenzie storage facility between April 1 and Sept. 1. Total loss is estimated at $5,000. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact troopers at 373-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 745-3333. Investigation continues.

MICS

Oct. 3, 7:56 p.m.: Troopers issued Curtis Whaley, 42, of Palmer a summons for misconduct involving a controlled substance VI after he was found in possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was contacted as the driver of a vehicle stopped for a traffic violation at Bogard Road and Williwaw Drive in Wasilla. He was also cited for open container.

Oct. 6, 5:50 p.m.: Troopers stopped a Chevy truck at Mile 9 Talkeetna Spur Road for a moving violation. The driver was identified as Stefan Gudmundson, 38, of Trapper Creek. Investigation revealed Gudmundson was in possession of marijuana. Gudmundson was issued a summons to appear in court and was also issued two citations. Gudmundson was released at the scene.

Oct. 14: Troopers responded to a 911 call on Palmdale Drive in Wasilla. Investigation revealed that Steven Dubois, 29, of Wasilla was involved in the selling of a controlled substance while possessing firearms. Investigation further revealed he assaulted a female acquaintance with causing injury. During the investigation Katheryne Murray, 18, of Wasilla was also contacted and found to be in possession of a controlled substance. Dubois was arrested for misconduct involving a controlled substance II, III, and IV, misconduct involving a weapon II and III, as well as assault IV, DV. He was transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where he was remanded with no bail. Murray was arrested for misconduct involving a controlled substance IV and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where bail was set at $5,000, cash or corporate.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

Oct. 2, 7:55 a.m.: Troopers responded to a residence on Williwaw Way for a report of a broken vehicle window. A 25-year-old Wasilla woman reported the front passenger window on a Pontiac Sunbird was broken sometime between 12:30 and 7 a.m. Oct. 2. Damage to the window is estimated at $250.

Oct. 6, 7:17 p.m.: Troopers investigated criminal mischief to a fuel pump at Fisher Fuel Inc. at Johnson Road and the Parks Highway. A substantial amount of damage to pump No. 8 was estimated at $5,000. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 745-3333 or troopers at 373-8300.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS

Oct. 14, 2:19 a.m.: Troopers responded to a residence off Paige Circle for a report of a person unlawfully on private property. Investigation revealed Nathan Adams, 40, of Wasilla was illegally at the residence. Adams was arrested, transported, and remanded to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where no bail was set.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Oct. 2, 2:40 p.m.: Troopers responded to a report of a highly intoxicated male harassing customers at Three Bears Grocery store in Wasilla. Troopers contacted Edward Thomas, 54, of Wasilla, who was sitting on the sidewalk in front of the store. Investigation revealed Thomas was asked not to harass the customers and also to leave. He continued and was subsequently arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial, where he was held on $100 bail.

Oct. 3, 11:37 p.m.: Talkeetna troopers responded to a residence in the Talkeetna area for a disturbance. An investigation revealed that Dustin Bote, 18, refused to leave a residence after he was told to do so multiple times by the homeowner. Bote was also screaming profanities at unreasonable hours and causing a disturbance. Bote was arrested for disorderly conduct and trespass II and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility.

HIT AND RUN

Oct. 1, 11:02 a.m.: Troopers and Wasilla police responded to a reported hit-and-run collision at the intersection of Blue Lupine and Hyer roads in Wasilla. Investigation revealed Bonnie Johnson of Wasilla was driving her 2003 Saturn on Hyer Road when a 1996 Ford Thunderbird failed to yield and collided with her vehicle. The Thunderbird left the scene and Johnson reported the incident. Wasilla police and trooper units located the Thunderbird parked at a residence on Roy Road in Wasilla. Investigation revealed Victor Waag, 21, of Wasilla was the driver of the vehicle at the time of the collision. Further investigation revealed Waag was driving with a suspended license and had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear. Waag was arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility and held on $3,000 bail. Waag was also issued citations for no insurance and failure to exercise due care to avoid a collision.

Oct. 14, 9:13 p.m.: Troopers responded to a report of a hit and run at Mile 4 Knik-Goose Bay Road in the Tesoro parking lot. Investigation determined a 1999 Mercury passenger car was struck by a white Ford pickup. The pickup and driver fled from the scene. Damage to the Mercury was estimated at $1,500. Anyone with information is asked to contact troopers at 745-2131 or Crime Stoppers at 745-3333. Investigation is continuing.

Oct. 13, 4 a.m.: Troopers responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision with an electric pole at Hartley Motors in Wasilla. Investigation revealed a white truck pulled into the parking lot, turned around and backed into the electric pole knocking it over and causing a power outage from Trunk Road to Hyer Road. After colliding with the pole, the truck left the scene. The vehicle was described as a white delivery-type truck with some writing on the door. MEA responded to the scene to restore power and turn off any live electric lines. Damage is estimated at several thousand dollars. Investigation is continuing anyone with information is asked to contact the troopers at 745-2131 or Crime Stoppers as 745-3333.

PALMER POLICE DEPARTMENT

DWLCSR

Oct. 8: While conducting enforcement for the Click-It or Ticket Campaign, police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Crystalen L. Bradeen, 25, of Palmer for a seat belt violation. At that time it was discovered Bradeen was driving while her license is suspended.

MVC / MVA

Oct. 8: Martin E. Thompson, 26, of Palmer reported his 2005 Ford pickup was damaged in the parking lot of Spenard Builders Supply when it was ran into by a Ford pickup belonging to Ronald J. Burkhardsmeier, 68, of Wasilla.

THEFT

Oct. 10: Police responded to a report of a window broken out and items missing from a dark blue Dodge Durango. The owner stated the damage and theft happened sometime in the late evening or early morning on Cobb Street.

HIT AND RUN

Oct. 10: A 37-year-old Palmer woman reported her parked Nissan Sentra had been struck in the parking lot of Matanuska Christian School. Damage to the Nissan was estimated at $1,000 and the suspect left the scene without leaving contact and insurance information.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS

Oct. 10: Martin D. Rupp, 49, of Palmer was contacted sleeping in a former girlfriend’s vehicle, which was in the parking lot of the Palmer Carrs supermarket. Rupp did not have permission to be in the vehicle had been previously been contacted about trespassing at Carrs. Rupp was arrested for criminal trespass II and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility, where bail was set at $750.

WARRANT ARREST

Oct. 10: While participating in the Click-It or Ticket campaign, police arrested a passenger in a vehicle. Lori L. Martin, 43, of Palmer was cited for failure to wear seat belt and arrested on an outstanding warrant for criminal mischief III. Martin was transported to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility and held on $1,000 bail.

Oct. 11: Kloiah E. Wayland, 19, of Wasilla was arrested on a warrant for fail to appear warrant on an original charge theft II. She turned herself in at the police department and was transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on $2,500 bail.

Oct. 12: Marvin L. Nobles, 38, of Talkeetna turned himself over to police on an outstanding no-bail warrant.

Oct. 11: Benjamin Augustus Carney II, 31, of Wasilla was arrested on an outstanding $3,000 warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving under the influence.

Oct. 13: Police arrested Harvey J. Kanayurak, 21, of Palmer on an outstanding warrant while investigating a noise disturbance. The warrant was issued for failure to appear on an original charge of reckless driving. Kanayurak was remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility.

VANDALISM

Oct. 10: An 18-year-old Palmer woman reported a window on her 1998 Mercury had been broken out during the night.

MIW

Oct. 11: Police responded to Palmer High School for report of a student carrying an iPod with a razor taped to the end as a weapon. The weapon was confiscated from the 15-year-old male student, who had left school with his mother prior to police arrival. A single charge of misconduct involving a weapon IV will be forwarded to the Juvenile Justice Center.

MICS

Oct. 12: Kyle Bradley Tritch, 25, of Palmer was issued a summons for misconduct involving a controlled substance VI following a contact for parking in a designated fire lane.

Oct. 12: Colleen Mykia Prillwitz, 21, of Palmer was issued a summons for misconduct involving a controlled substance VI following a contact for parking in a designated fire lane.

LOST AND FOUND

Oct. 12: Police were contacted concerning a bicycle found behind a residence. Anyone missing a bicycle that has not been previously reported should notify Palmer police with a description.

WASILLA POLICE DEPARTMENT

THEFT / SHOPLIFTING

Oct. 12: Police responded to Fred Meyer for a report of a juvenile shoplifting. A 17-year-old female was caught with $38.98 worth of merchandise. A charge of theft IV is being forwarded to Juvenile Probation.

Oct. 15: An 18-year-old Wasilla man reported his bicycle, valued at $600, was stolen while located at a residence on Lone Cub Drive.

Oct. 15: A $200 mountain bike was reported stolen by a 28-year-old Wasilla woman.

Oct. 15: A 44-year-old Wasilla man reported a camera and medications had been stolen out of his vehicle while parked at Fred Meyer in Wasilla.

Oct. 16: A Palmer man, 45, reported $1,400 had been charged to his business account.

MVC

Oct. 12: Police responded to Knik-Goose Bay Road and Frank Smith Ballfields for a reported vehicle-moose collision. Matthew Hanson, 37, of Anchorage reported he was heading southbound on Knik-Goose Bay Road when a moose ran out in front of his vehicle. The vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage and there were no reported injuries.

Oct. 12: Police responded to an accident at the intersection of the Parks Highway and Lucas Road. A green Pontiac Grand AM driven by Charles Worthy, 65, of Wasilla was traveling westbound on the Parks Highway approaching the intersection of Lucas Road when the traffic control light turned from green to yellow, Wasilla police report. Worthy said he had already committed to entering the intersection and attempted to accelerate through when he collided with a 2005 silver Ford operated by Mildred Minnick, 78, of Wasilla. Minnick said she was in the left turn lane on the eastbound side of the Parks Highway intending to turn northbound onto Lucas Road. She said she had a green light to turn and when she began her turn was struck by Worthy. The field investigation could not determine whether Worthy ran a red light or if Minnick failed to yield to oncoming traffic. No injuries were reported.

LOST AND FOUND

Oct. 11: An unidentified person found a wallet belonging to Rachael Murphy and turned it in to the police department. The wallet was found in the Fred Meyer parking lot and checked in for safekeeping until Murphy claims it.

Oct. 12: A 19-year-old Houston man turned in a wallet he found on the Parks Highway near Wasilla Lake. The owner’s mother was advised the wallet would be held at the police department for safekeeping until claimed.

Oct. 16: A 42-year-old Wasilla woman reported she lost her purse on Oct. 15.

FIGHTING

Oct. 11: Police received a complaint of a planned fight at Wasilla High School between two juvenile subjects. An investigation found probable cause to believe that a 16--year-old was in possession of a weapon while on school grounds and had challenged another student to a fight. He was also in possession of drug paraphernalia. Criminal charges are being forwarded to Juvenile Justice for review.

DUI / DWI

Oct. 13: Police stopped Haylie Edwards, 26, of Wasilla on the Parks Highway at Tommy Moe Drive for exceeding the posted speed limit. Edwards was arrested for driving while intoxicated and taken to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility were she was later released on her own recognizance.

Oct. 14: Police stopped a blue Nissan Maxima called in as a REDDI report at the corner of Boundary and Swanson streets in Wasilla. The driver, Kiprian Reutov, 22, of Willow, was arrested for driving while intoxicated, and bond set at $1,000 cash only.

Oct. 14: Bryce T. Danford, 28, of Wasilla was arrested for driving under the influence after being observed driving over a curb at McDonald’s. Danford failed a series of field sobriety tests and was arrested. He also submitted a breath sample, which determined his breath alcohol concentration met the standard for the charge and was held at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility in lieu of $1,000 bail.

Oct. 14: Police received a report of a fight between a male and female near 1001 Bogard Road. Police responded and found Christopher Wylie, 25, of Anchorage and his girlfriend involved in an altercation. Wylie was arrested for driving under the influence.

Oct. 16: Police received a REDDI report that led to the arrest of Randy E. Johnson, 43, of Wasilla for driving under the influence. Johnson was transported to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where bail was set at $2,500.

DWLCSR

Oct. 13: A routine traffic stop was conducted on a white Chevrolet pickup at the intersection of Lucas Road and Winter Avenue. An investigation found Mark Metcalf, 39, of Wasilla was driving while his license was suspended. Metcalf was issued a summons to appear in court and was released.

MISUSE OF REGISTRATION

Oct. 15: A routine traffic stop at the intersection of Yenlo Street and the Parks Highway found a vehicle belonging to Ronald Johnson, 43, of Wasilla, was registered in the name of Derek Jenson, 27, of Youngtown, Ariz. After investigating, Johnson was issued a summons for misuse of registration and ordered to appear in court.

MISSING PERSONS

Oct. 13: A 45-year-old Wasilla woman reported her 17-year-old son missing. He was entered into the national missing children’s database. At about 5 p.m. the next day, police were notified the teen had returned home.

HIT AND RUN

Oct. 14: A 59-year-old Wasilla woman reported a hit and run accident in the parking lot of ShopRite. The case is under investigation.

ASSAULT

Oct. 14: Police were called to the Mug Shot Saloon for a disturbance. A 34-year-old Wasilla woman reported that an unknown male had slapped her in the face after she confronted him inside the bar for grabbing his girlfriend.

VIOLATION OF RESTRAINING ORDER

Oct. 15: Police responded to the Carrs parking lot for a report of a violation of a restraining order. Ronald Skoog, 24, of Wasilla was remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility without bail.
