ALASKA STATE TROOPERS MVC Oct. 16, 8:19 p.m.: Troopers responded to a reported motor vehicle collision versus a moose on Mile 55 of the Glenn Highway. Investigation revealed Georgia McConkey, 25, of Copper Center, was northbound on the Glenn Highway when a moose entered the highway.  McConkey was driving her 2002 silver Chevy Trailblazer and was unable to avoid the moose. McConkey's vehicle struck the moose and sustained front-end damage.  The damage on the vehicle is estimated to be more than $2,500.  McConkey and her passenger were wearing their seatbelts and reported no injuries.
