Oct. 16, 8:19 p.m.: Troopers responded to a reported motor vehicle collision versus a moose on Mile 55 of the Glenn Highway. Investigation revealed Georgia McConkey, 25, of Copper Center, was northbound on the Glenn Highway when a moose entered the highway. McConkey was driving her 2002 silver Chevy Trailblazer and was unable to avoid the moose. McConkey's vehicle struck the moose and sustained front-end damage. The damage on the vehicle is estimated to be more than $2,500. McConkey and her passenger were wearing their seatbelts and reported no injuries.

Oct. 16, 10:15 p.m.: Troopers responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a moose near Mile 59 Parks Highway. Investigation determined a 1986 Jeep, driven by James Lewis, 35, of Willow was southbound when his vehicle struck a moose that stepped onto the roadway. Lewis was the only occupant and reported wearing his seat belt. He was uninjured. The vehicle was estimated at a total loss.
Oct. 16, 10:36 p.m.: At approximately 10:36 p.m. troopers responded to a report of a single-vehicle rollover on the Old Glenn Highway near Northbridge in the Butte. Medics and the Fire Department were also on scene. Investigation revealed a 1998 white Ford Escape was northbound on the Old Glenn Highway when it left the roadway and rolled. No occupants were found around the vehicle. The troopers, fire department, and medics combed the area and were unable to locate the occupant(s) of the vehicle. Investigation continues.
Oct 16, 7:03 a.m.: Troopers responded to Mile 50.5 of the Parks Highway for a motor vehicle collision involving a moose. Investigation revealed a 1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, driven by Victoria Pershall, 42, of Willow struck a cow moose that walked onto the highway. Pershall reported wearing a safety belt and suffered no injuries. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $4,000. The moose had to be dispatched on scene and was later given to charity.
Oct. 17, 9:40 a.m.: Troopers responded to a motor vehicle crash near the intersection of Schrock and Church roads. Investigation revealed Daniel L. Jessup, 27 of Wasilla was operating a 1984 Chevrolet pickup that collided with a 2007 Ford pickup, operated by Matthew D. Dufour, 33, of Bass Lake, Cal. Estimated damage to Jessup's vehicle is $500. Damage to Dufour's vehicle is estimated at $3,000. All occupants of the vehicles involved reported wearing restraint devices. No injuries were reported.
Oct. 17, 4:38 p.m.: Troopers responded to a report of an collision at the intersection of Seldon and Tait roads near Wasilla. Investigation revealed 21-year-old Jonathan Walker of Wasilla was southbound on Seldon when he rear-ended a school bus driven by 47-year- old Yevgeniy Ugrin of Wasilla. The school bus was slowing in traffic to make a right turn onto Tait. There was minor damage on both vehicles and both drivers were wearing their seatbelts and were not injured. There was only one passenger on the bus, the bus aide identified as 52-year-old Kathleen Adkins of Wasilla. Adkins complained of neck and back pain, and was transported to the hospital by private vehicle. Walker was issued a citation for failure to exercise due care to avoid a collision.
WARRANT ARREST
Oct. 16, 1:27 p.m.: Troopers contacted Kerry Sayles, 38, of Wasilla at a residence on Pioneer Peak in Wasilla. Investigation revealed that Sayles had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear. Sayles was arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where he was held on $250 bail.
Oct. 16, 6:10 p.m.: Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 1991 Chevy truck at Pittman Road and Parks Highway in Wasilla. Investigation revealed the passenger, Vencent Nelson, 29, of Wasilla had three outstanding misdemeanor warrants for failure to appear and contempt of court. Nelson was arrested and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where he was held on $1750 bail.
Oct. 17, 12:40 p.m.: Troopers arrested Nikki Worley, 29, of Wasilla on a warrant for failure to appear on a charge of driving while her licesne is suspended. Worley was contacted at Palmer Post while on other business. Worley was remanded to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on $200 bail.
Oct. 19, 1:54 a.m.: The Trooper South-Central DUI Enforcement Team contacted Filomena Dorothy Tautua Faletoi, 22, of Wasilla after the vehicle she occupied was stopped on Lucille Street near Lochcarron Drive, Wasilla for an equipment violation. Faletoi was found to have a misdemeanor warrant for her arrest for failure to appear on the original charge of driving while her license is suspended. Faletoi was arrested for the warrant and remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on a $500 bail.

Oct. 16, 7:32 p.m.: Near Seward Meridian and Palmer-Wasilla Highway, troopers arrested Zachariah Lierley, 20, of Wasilla for driving while his license is revoked and misuse of plates. Lierley was contacted after a traffic stop for an equipment violation. Bail was set at $550 cash or corporate.
Oct. 16, 9:30 a.m.: Troopers stopped a Chevy truck at Mile 80 of the Parks Highway after observing that the driver was Tina Michael, 34, of Willow, known to have a suspended driver license. Michael was arrested and remanded into Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility, where bail was set at $500 cash.
ELUDING
Oct. 16, 4:38 p.m.: Troopers attempted to stop a Chevy Corsica on Petersville Road for an equipment violation. The driver failed to yield and continued at a high rate of speed. Troopers pursued the vehicle for approximately three miles, before the vehicle crashed into a gate. The driver fled on foot across a swamp. After a foot chase, troopers arrested Joshua Pate, 17, of Trapper Creek. Investigation revealed that Pate had a canceled driver license. The vehicle was also displaying license plates that belonged to a different vehicle. Pate was remanded into the Mat-Su Youth Facility, where bail was set at $2,000 cash plus a court approved third-party custodian.
ASSAULT
Oct. 15, 4:15 p.m.: Troopers responded to a residence on Yancey Road for an assault. Investigation revealed that James Carbaugh, 44, of Willow allegedly assaulted a family member at the residence by punching her in the face. Carbaugh was arrested and remanded into Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility, where he was held without bail.
PALMER POLICE DEPARTMENT
HIT AND RUN
Oct. 10: A 37-year-old Palmer woman reported her parked Nissan Sentra had been struck in the parking lot of Matanuska Christian School. Damage to the Nissan was estimated at $1,000 and the suspect left the scene without leaving contact and insurance information.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS
Oct. 10: Martin D. Rupp, 49, of Palmer was contacted sleeping in a former girlfriend’s vehicle, which was in the parking lot of the Palmer Carrs supermarket. Rupp did not have permission to be in the vehicle and had been previously been contacted about trespassing at Carrs. Rupp was arrested for criminal trespass II and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility, where bail was set at $750.
WARRANT ARREST
Oct. 10: While participating in the Click-It or Ticket campaign, police arrested a passenger in a vehicle. Lori L. Martin, 43, of Palmer was cited for failure to wear seat belt and arrested on an outstanding warrant for criminal mischief III. Martin was transported to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility and held on $1,000 bail.
Oct. 11: Kloiah E. Wayland, 19, of Wasilla was arrested on a warrant for fail to appear warrant on an original charge theft II. She turned herself in at the police department and was transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on $2,500 bail.
Oct. 12: Marvin L. Nobles, 38, of Talkeetna turned himself over to police on an outstanding no-bail warrant.
Oct. 11: Benjamin Augustus Carney II, 31, of Wasilla was arrested on an outstanding $3,000 warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving under the influence.
Oct. 13: Police arrested Harvey J. Kanayurak, 21, of Palmer on an outstanding warrant while investigating a noise disturbance. The warrant was issued for failure to appear on an original charge of reckless driving. Kanayurak was remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility.

Oct. 10: An 18-year-old Palmer woman reported a window on her 1998 Mercury had been broken out during the night.

Oct. 11: Police responded to Palmer High School for report of a student carrying an iPod with a razor taped to the end as a weapon. The weapon was confiscated from the 15-year-old male student, who had left school with his mother prior to police arrival. A single charge of misconduct involving a weapon IV will be forwarded to the Juvenile Justice Center.

Oct. 12: Kyle Bradley Tritch, 25, of Palmer was issued a summons for misconduct involving a controlled substance VI following a contact for parking in a designated fire lane.

LOST AND FOUND
Oct. 12: Police were contacted concerning a bicycle found behind a residence. Anyone missing a bicycle that has not been previously reported should notify Palmer police with a description.

THEFT / SHOPLIFTING
Oct. 12: Police responded to Fred Meyer for a report of a juvenile shoplifting. A 17-year-old female was allegedly caught with $38.98 worth of merchandise. A charge of theft IV is being forwarded to Juvenile Probation.
Oct. 15: An 18-year-old Wasilla man reported his bicycle, valued at $600, was stolen while located at a residence on Lone Cub Drive.
Oct. 15: A 28-year-old Wasilla woman reported a $200 mountain bike was stolen.
Oct. 15: A 44-year-old Wasilla man reported a camera and medications were stolen out of his vehicle while parked at Fred Meyer in Wasilla.
Oct. 16: A Palmer man, 45, reported $1,400 were charged to his business account.
MVC
Oct. 12: Police responded to Knik-Goose Bay Road and Frank Smith Ballfields for a reported vehicle-moose collision. Matthew Hanson, 37, of Anchorage reported he was heading southbound on Knik-Goose Bay Road when a moose ran out in front of his vehicle. The vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage and there were no reported injuries.
Oct. 12: Police responded to an accident at the intersection of the Parks Highway and Lucas Road. A green Pontiac Grand AM driven by Charles Worthy, 65, of Wasilla was traveling westbound on the Parks Highway approaching the intersection of Lucas Road when the traffic control light turned from green to yellow, Wasilla police report. Worthy said he had already committed to entering the intersection and attempted to accelerate through when he collided with a 2005 silver Ford operated by Mildred Minnick, 78, of Wasilla. Minnick said she was in the left turn lane on the eastbound side of the Parks Highway intending to turn northbound onto Lucas Road. She said she had a green light to turn and when she began her turn was struck by Worthy. The field investigation could not determine whether Worthy ran a red light or if Minnick failed to yield to oncoming traffic. No injuries were reported.
LOST AND FOUND
Oct. 11: An unidentified person found a wallet belonging to Rachael Murphy and turned it in to the police department. The wallet was found in the Fred Meyer parking lot and checked in for safekeeping until Murphy claims it.
Oct. 12: A 19-year-old Houston man turned in a wallet he found on the Parks Highway near Wasilla Lake. The owner’s mother was advised the wallet would be held at the police department for safekeeping until claimed.
Oct. 16: A 42-year-old Wasilla woman reported she lost her purse on Oct. 15.
