Longtime Alaska resident Jocelyn Rose Hohn died from leukemia Nov. 8, 2007, in her home surrounded by family. She was 64.

Hohn was born Nov. 27, 1942, in Suffern, N.Y., to Harry Rose and Kathleen McClintock. He has three sisters, three brothers and their extended family members.

She married Alan Thomas Hohn Sr. on Dec. 14, 1958. They arrived in Alaska in 1970 and homesteaded in the Matanuska Valley. They spent most of their lives in the logging and farming industry. Alan Thomas Hohn died in 2002. Jocelyn Hohn met her fiancé, Larry Davis, in 2004 and spent the rest of her life with him. They were retired and enjoyed each other’s companionship, taking trips and entertaining friends and family.

Jocelyn and Alan Hohn are survived by son, Alan (Becky) and their child Haley; son, William and children Stormy, Jamie, Andrea and Andrew; daughter, Kathleen and children John, Cody and Chrystal, and great-grandchild Isabelle; son, Robert (Lyndia) and children Jessica, Darlene, Tausha, Samantha and Tyler, and great-grandchildren Mya, Katlyn, Carol, Hannalynn and Jimyle; daughter, Debra (Herbert) and children Leah, Sonja and Lisa. She is survived by numerous other relatives throughout the country.

She is also survived by fiancé Larry Davis of Wasilla and his son Jeffery (Teresa) Davis and their children Garrett and Alicia; son, Kevin (Teresa) Davis and their children Derrick and Dustin.

She will be greatly missed by everyone. She had a pizzazz like no other, an Irish firecracker with a great sense of humor.

Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Train Depot in downtown Palmer. Celebration of life will follow the service at 4886 E. Alder Drive off Bogart Road next to Valley Country Store.
