ALASKA STATE TROOPERS

WARRANT ARREST

Dec. 7, 7 p.m.: Troopers in Palmer arrested Adem Tahiri, 18, of Wasilla on an outstanding federal arrest warrant for military desertion after he was contacted at his residence in Wasilla. He was subsequently transported and lodged at Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility and held without bail.

Dec. 7, 10:20 p.m.: Troopers stopped a vehicle near Bogard Road and Helen Drive in Wasilla for a moving violation. A passenger in the vehicle identified as Richard C. Dickenson, 23, of Wasilla was found to have an outstanding warrant for his arrest for failure to appear on the charge of driving under the influence. Dickenson was arrested on scene and remanded to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where he was held on $1,000 bail.

Dec. 8, 8 p.m.: Troopers contacted Gus Macauly, 42, of Palmer during a traffic stop on the Palmer-Wasilla Highway near Trunk Road. Investigation revealed Macauly had two no-bail warrants for his arrest. Macauly was arrested and booked at Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility.

Dec. 9, 11:45 p.m.: Troopers stopped a vehicle near Lucas and Nelson in Wasilla for an equipment violation. A passenger in the vehicle, Kristina M. Haire, 34, of Wasilla, was found to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest for failure to appear on the charge of shoplifting. Haire was arrested on scene and remanded to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where she was held on $1,500 bail.

MVC / MVA

Dec. 7, 6:05 p.m.: Troopers responded to approximately Mile 6 Big Lake Road in Big Lake for the report of a two-vehicle collision. Alicia A Richard, 24, of Big Lake was attempting to make a left turn into a driveway when her vehicle collided with a vehicle driven by Benjamin M. Crowley, 17, of Big Lake who was attempting to pass her. Both vehicles received minor damage and all occupants reported wearing seatbelts. Richard was transported to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

Dec. 9, 9:04 p.m.: Troopers responded to Tait Road, near Seldon Road for a motor vehicle collision. Stephanie Ostermiller, 18, of Wasilla was traveling northbound on Tait Road in a 1995 Ford Explorer, pulling a 1990 Jeep, controlled by Shamus Ostermiller. Angela R. Cameron, 17, of Wasilla was also northbound on Tait Road when she struck the Ostermiller's Jeep from behind causing minor damage. All persons involved were wearing seatbelts and no injuries were reported. Cameron was cited for failing to excercise due care to avoid a collision.    

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

Dec. 7, 8:20 p.m.: Troopers responded to residential disturbance in the Fairview Loop area of Wasilla. Investigation revealed 19-year-old Christine S. Yingling of Wasilla allegedly caused an estimated $200 in damage to a family member's property during a dispute. She was arrested for criminal mischief IV, involving domestic violence, and transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where she was held without bail pending arraignment.

THEFT / BURGLARY

Dec. 7, 6:14 p.m.: Troopers arrested Stephanie Belardi, 22, of Wasilla for theft IV and hindering prosocution II after they responded to Steve's Food Boy in Big Lake on a reported shoplifting incident. Belardi was transported to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility. Bail was set at $1,000, cash only.

Dec. 9, 5:42 p.m.: Troopers responded to a residence off St. Paul Drive for a reported burglary. An investigation revealed a property was burglarized sometime in the last week. During the burglary the suspect(s) damaged the residence estimated at about $5,000. Troopers are asking anyone with information about the burglary to call 745-2131 or Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.

DUI

Dec. 8, 6:08 a.m.: Trooper South Central DUI Enforcement Team and the Wasilla Police Department stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Knik-Goose Bay Road and Railroad Avenue in Wasilla after receiving several citizen complaints the vehicle was being driven erratically and was nearly involved in two collisions. Jessi L. Demit, 27, of Anchorage was found to be operating the vehicle allegedly under the influence of alcohol and to also have at least two prior driving under the influence convictions within the last 10 years. Demit was arrested for felony DUI and remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on a $5,000 bail.

Dec. 7, 10:17 p.m.: Trooper South Central DUI Enforcement Team stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Bogard Road and Helen Drive in Wasilla for a moving violation. Alva L. Baker, 30, of Sutton was arrested for driving under the influence. Baker was remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on a $250 bail.

Dec. 9, 1:34 a.m.: Troopers contacted Laura Carlson, 29, of Wasilla at Mile 7 Knik-Goose Bay Road, during a separate driving under the influence investigation that Carlson stopped to inquire about while driving her 2005 GMC pickup. Carlson was arrested for DUI, transported and remanded at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility.

Dec. 8, 10:14 p.m.: Trooper South-Central DUI Enforcement Team responded to an address on Hemlock Drive in Wasilla in response to a REDDI report. Kelly Bryant, 38, of Wasilla was arrested for driving under the influence and remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility and held on $2,500 bail.

Dec. 9, 2:12 a.m.: Trooper South-Central DUI Enforcement Team contacted Robert Charles Lewis Green, 35, of Wasilla after the vehicle he was operating was stopped on Nelson Avenue near Wasilla-Fishhook in Wasilla for displaying expired tags. Green was arrested for driving under the influence. Green was remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on a $250 bail.

Dec. 9, 1:27 a.m.: Trooper South Central DUI Enforcement Team stopped a vehicle near Mile 7 of Knik-Goose Bay Road in Wasilla in response to a REDDI report. Clifford E. Carlson, 52, of Wasilla was arrested for driving under the influence. Carlson was remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where he was held until released to a sober third party.

Dec. 9, 11:06 p.m.: Trooper South-Central DUI Enforcement Team contacted Tammy Adkins, 50, of Wasilla after the vehicle she was driving was stopped for erratic driving. Adkins was arrested for driving under the influence and remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility and held on $250 bail.
