I've been thinking about this for the past week. This contest that is. I've been thinking about the size of my thighs for a substantialy longer period.  I would love to say that the prize is not the motivating factor...lies lies lies! Sad but true. My hope that at some point during this three month journey that will change.  Money is not the only reason,  I have a beautiful family and dreams yet to achieve. And yes like most other women. I have that pair of pants in the closet. The ones I have held on to since high school.  Are HASH jeans still in style? I sure hope so beacuse they look so good with my Sammy Hagar concert shirt.

So here I go I have removed myself from my couch. My couch by the way must be a new kind of furniture. One made with memory foam. When I finally stood up the indentation from my rear seems to have been permanently indented. no wonder I was so comfy there.

I've drug my husband out of his "indentation" to join me on this journey.  OH YEA, beware cellulite I have had enough.

" All Talk-I believe wes are talking about healthy eating, and our past bad habits. Sorry to break this to you, but eating healthy is how to lose weight, not starving yourself. Also, I believe someone (Ray) requested some healthy food ideas. Don't get diet grumpy on us! Share successes and helpful ideas. "

" Why all this talking about food? We're supposed to lower our calories but insted there's just a bunch of talk about food and eating. Can nobody see we're obsessed with eating? It shows in all these postings. "

" I have discovered zip and steam bags from ziplock. You can steam foods in the microwave. Add some yummy seasonings or non fat dressings and you got a very low cal treat or meal. Also lowfat microwave popcorn! I don't feel eating a whole bag of Orville! Not when I used to eat a whole bag of Tim's chips!

Journal all food and beverage you put into your mouth.
Even that piece of gum or taste of cake! It is amazing! "

" I'm 45, female, 5'4 and was 234 lbs.I started my diet Dec 27 just changing my eating habits at first, and finally started my Taebo today. Over the last 2 weeks I did cheat a couple times, but got back on track with my veggies and protein. I've lost 8 pounds so far as I weighed in at 226. I think my stomach has shrunk as I don't eat as much and get full easily. But my biggest temptation is Sweets-especially chocolate!!! Thank you for this contest and Good Luck everyone!! "

I don't care about winning any contes but I now feel like something has to happen. I don't see how I can stop but know realize all I'm doing is jamming death down my throat. I will check this blog to find ansers and incouragement. Thanks for all the wonderful coments posted...I like reading about others going thru the same thing. "

" And Their Off! As we all begin this journey we will all be winners (some of us monitarily)all of us heathfully! What a great idea for the Frontiersman to do, what a great way to get our communities united. Yes, I purchased a treatmill tonight from Sears and began with ordering from Full Circle Farms a box of fresh organic produce every other week. Lots of "raw" juice and yummy stir-fry with EVOO. Just a note to menopausefringe, having dreams with Jamie is a wonderful motivator! "

" From the CDC: "Since the mid-seventies, the prevalence of overweight and obesity has increased sharply for both adults and children. Data from two National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES) show that among adults aged 20–74 years the prevalence of obesity increased from 15.0% (1976–1980 survey) to 32.9% (2003–2004 survey)." Continuing: "Overweight and obesity result from an energy imbalance. This involves eating too many calories and not getting enough physical activity." Conclusion: Quit talking about it. Stop eating so much. Get up off the couch. And get on the treadmill. Do it now! "

I was 10lbs less this morning. I was also on a beach with Jaime {the highlander from my romance novel), feeding me twinkies. I love the last dreams of the night.
Awake I was the same 186.6
My son bless his skinny heart cleaned all that is unhealthy from the fridge. This included all that was tasty and good.
It looks like were having mustard and letttuce for dinner. Yum!
I did exercise and drink my gallon of water today. Can your bladder actually rash from over use? "

" I am excited about this journey I am taking for the next three months. Four daughters, one “sister”, and a couple of co-workers will be taking it with me. The prize would be awesome but more important is working towards good health and fitness. I need a lot of energy to keep up with my 24 grandchildren. "

" It's a weight loss and editing challenge! Edited from 460 words to 95. Yesterday, I stuffed myself at the Wasilla Chamber lunch at Evangelo’s, preparing for the weigh-in after the meeting, a last meal. I weighed in at 10 pounds more than I expected. The aggressive 40 lbs. goal is now an impossible 50 lbs. I remembered an Adidas campaign I worked on in 2003 featuring Mohammed Ali “Impossible is Nothing”. Anything else had to say was not this inspirational. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lg9AyBoJlR8

" Good luck to all! Even if we don't win but all lose some weight and get healthier it will be worth it. I know I'm not motivated by the money because I've tried that in the past. It just has to be your time to really get serious about your health and fitness. Hopefully this is my time and can invest the winnings in Krispy Kreme stocks! "

" I pre registered for this contest last week and my daughter did also. She has begun her weight loss journey in May 2007 and has lost 50 lbs to date. She slipped off track over the holidays and this contest came at a good time to get her motivation up and running once again. My reasons are selfish, I wanted my daughter to be around for a long long time and this contest will give her the motivation to continue on her journey to a better, healthier life. I love you stacey. I'm with you all the way. "

" I joined with a friend but the motivation is not quite there! That goes to show how much work I need to do. I need lots of encouragement and yes the money would be fantastic, but feeling proud and slim and healthy would be even more MUI FANTASTICO! Day 1 was registering and weighing in. Day 2 begins the actual work! "
