FORGERY
Jan. 21: A 30-year-old Palmer man reported someone had forged one of his checks to pay a telephone bill. Jessica J. Skaggs, 26, of Palmer allegedly stole and forged the check. Charges of forgery II and theft III are being forwarded to the District Attorney’s office on Skaggs.

Jan. 21: A 44-year-old female of Palmer alleged she had been sexually assaulted sometime in the recent past by a 26-year-old male of Palmer.
TRESPASSING
Jan. 22: Following a report of an intoxicated male trying to enter a residence, officers responded to a residence on Gold Key. Ryan Arnett, 29, of Palmer was arrested for trespassing. David Grow, 49, of Palmer was arrested for driving under the influence. Grow and Arnett were both remanded to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility, Arnett on $1,500 bail and Grow on $1,000.
DWLCSR
Jan. 22: Following a traffic stop for expired license plates and misuse of evidence of registration, officers arrested Summer Kocean, 20, of Wasilla for driving while her license is revoked and remanded her to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on $1,000 bail.
DUI
Jan. 3: Following a traffic stop for driving a snowmachine down the middle of the street, officers arrested Clayton Davis, 39, of Trapper Creek for felony driving under the influence. Davis was remanded to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on a $10,000 cash-only bail and a court-approved third party.
Jan. 24: A vehicle being operated by David E. Fischer, 67, of Palmer was stopped northbound on the Glenn Highway at the red light, waiting to turn east onto Arctic. A vehicle being driven by Herbert D. Walker, 45, of Palmer failed to stop and collided with the back of the vehicle being driven by Fischer. Walker was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence and lodged at Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on $5,000 bail.
Jan. 27: Police arrested Randall W. Parker II, 38, of Palmer for driving under the influence and reckless driving following a REDDI investigation at the Alaska Choice Motel. Parker was additionally charged with refusal to submit to a chemical test. Parker was remanded at Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where bail was set at $3,000 cash or corporate and a court-approved third party.
WARRANT ARREST
Jan. 23: Rachael Johnson, 28, of Anchorage turned herself in on a $500 warrant for fail to appear on the original charge of driving while her license is suspended. She was remanded at Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility.
Jan. 25: Police arrested Victoria Lynn Hambleton, 46, of Wasilla for a warrant for failure to comply with conditions of release on the original charge of two counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance IV. Hambleton was held pending a new court-approved third party or new conditions of release.
MVC
Jan. 23: A 16-year-old Palmer boy slid into the back of a First Student bus, driven by Wolfgang Gedicks, 61, of Wasilla when he attempted to stop at the intersection of Arctic Avenue and Glenn Highway. There weren’t any reported injuries. Frazier was cited for driver to exercise due care.
Jan. 27: Police responded to a collision at the intersection of Arctic Avenue and Valley Way. Nicole Pulkrabek, 24, of Palmer drove into the intersection and struck a Ford car in the left rear corner, as it was westbound on Arctic Avenue. Leroy Jefferys, 28, of Palmer was the driver of the car. Two of Jefferys’ passengers complained of injuries. Pulkrabek was cited for failure to yield to a vehicle entering an intersection after stopping. The damage to both vehicles was in excess of $2,000.
HIT AND RUN
Jan. 24: A 19-year-old Palmer man reported his vehicle had been struck while it was parked and unoccupied on East Beaver Avenue, causing approximately $1,000 in damage. The suspect vehicle left the area without notifying the police of the collision and the driver did not leave the required information with the teen’s vehicle.

WARRANT ARREST
Jan. 28, 11:15 p.m.: Troopers stopped a vehicle near Helen Drive and Williwaw Way in Wasilla for an equipment violation. A passenger in the vehicle, Amber M. Conway, 18, of Wasilla, was found to have an outstanding warrant for her arrest for failure to comply with an alcohol safety action program. Conway was arrested on scene and remanded to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where she was held on $100 bail
Jan. 28, 10:56 p.m.: Troopers contacted Theodore Saarnio, 42, of Palmer at a Palmer residence. Saarnio was subsequently arrested for a no-bail warrant from Wisconsin. Saarnio was then booked at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility without incident.
MVC
Jan. 29, 4:05 a.m.: Troopers responded to a motor vehicle collision. Christopher Lawlor, 47, of Wasilla was northbound on Carmel Road approaching Northern Lights Street, when his 2004 gray Pontiac struck a moose in the roadway. Lawlor was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision and suffered no injuries. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $2,500.
Jan. 29, 2:20 a.m.: Troopers, along with Sutton EMS, responded to the report of a single-vehicle collision involving injuries near Mile 97 Glenn Highway. Eric Potter, 46, of Juneau was driving a 2007 Ford SUV south on the Glenn Highway near Mile 97 when his vehicle slid on the ice in a downhill curve of the road. Potter’s vehicle traveled to the opposite side of the roadway where it struck a snow bank and turned onto its passenger side. All five occupants of the vehicle reported wearing seatbelts. The four passengers were transported to Mat-Su Regional Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Potter and two large canines that were also in the vehicle were transported to Palmer by troopers. No citations were issued. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $6,000.
Jan. 29, 8:15 a.m.: Troopers responded to Mile 84 Glenn Highway for the report of a single-vehicle collision involving a moose. William A. Walton, 66, of Palmer, driving a 2006 Chevrolet van, was traveling north on the Glenn near Mile 84 when a moose jumped from the embankment above the road into the path of his vehicle. Walton was unable to avoid a collision with the moose. Walton reported wearing a seatbelt and reported no injuries. Damage to his vehicle his is estimated at $8,000.
Jan. 29, 8 a.m.: Troopers responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Bogard and Caribou in Wasilla. Callie Rush, 19, of Wasilla was eastbound on Bogard Road approaching Caribou. Nina Shaw, 41, of Wasilla was stopped to turn left onto Caribou from Bogard in her ‘95 Chevy Suburban. Rush attempted to stop but could not due to ice on the road. Rush’s 1998 red Ford Taurus struck the rear end of Shaw’s vehicle. After the collision Rush’s Taurus caught on fire. All occupants were wearing seat belts and no one was injured. Rush’s vehicle was estimated at a total loss and the damage to Shaw's vehicle was estimated at $100.
Jan. 29, 1:40 p.m.: Troopers responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision on Bogard Road near Catalina Drive in Wasilla. Amanda R. Roberts, 22, of Palmer, lost control of her 1993 Honda Accord while traveling north on Bogard Road and collided with a southbound 1998 Isuzu Rodeo, driven by Claudine L. Fernandes, 35, of Wasilla. Fernandes reported wearing her seatbelt while Roberts was thrown from her vehicle. Both were transported to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. Both Roberts’ and Fernandes’ vehicles were considered totaled. Roberts was issued a citation for basic speed for reasonable and prudent for driving conditions.
Jan. 28, 2:53 p.m.: Troopers responded to Bogard Road near Caribou Street for a single-vehicle rollover. A 1995 Ford Ranger pickup, driven by Adam Grisham, 20, of Wasilla, was eastbound on Bogard Road from Caribou Street when it began to fishtail and the driver overcorrected and drove off the roadway where the vehicle overturned. Grisham reported wearing his seat belt and suffered no injuries. The vehicle’s damage was estimated at $3,000.
Jan. 29, 11:15 p.m.: Troopers responded to a single-motor vehicle collision at Mile 66 of the Glenn Highway in Sutton. Jesse Boger, 26, of Chickaloon, was northbound on the Glenn Highway in his 1995 Ford car when he collided with a moose crossing the roadway. Boger’s vehicle sustained an estimated $2,500 in damage. Boger was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision and did not sustain any injuries. The moose was provided to a local charity.
VIOLATION OF
PROTECTIVE ORDER
Jan. 30, 1:30 a.m.: Troopers responded to an address in Wasilla for the report of a disturbance. Investigation revealed Dorothy Webster, 43, of Wasilla was in violation of a long-term protective order. Webster was arrested and remanded to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where she was held without bail.
DWLCSR
Jan. 29, 12:58 p.m.: Troopers contacted Jimmy Ezi, 80, of Chugiak on the overpass at the junction of the Glenn and Parks highways. Ezi’s vehicle, a 1988 Chevrolet, was stopped on the roadside as he checked for damage after contacting the guardrail as he was driving onto the overpass. Investigation revealed Ezi’s driver license was expired and not renewed from 2006. Ezi was issued a summons to appear in court for no valid operator license. Ezi's vehicle suffered very minor damage. The guardrail was not damaged.

Jan. 25, 5:05 p.m.: Troopers stopped a Nissan Maxima at Mile 69 of the Parks Highway for a moving violation. A passenger in the vehicle, Julie Ebner, 21, of Talkeetna, was found in possession of marijuana. Ebner was issued a summons to appear in court for misconduct involving a controlled substance IV and was released.
RECKLESS DRIVING
Jan. 26, 10:10 p.m.: The trooper South-Central DUI Enforcement Team contacted Christopher James McDonald, 21, of Eagle River after the vehicle he was operating was stopped on the Glenn Highway near Mile 33 in Wasilla for allegedly traveling 102 mph in a 65 mph zone on ice-covered roads. McDonald was arrested for reckless driving and remanded to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on a $750 bail.
