Prep girls basketball: Warriors 3rd in Lady Lynx tourney ANCHORAGE — The Wasilla Warriors claimed fourth place in the Lady Lynx Shootout with a 56-40 win over the Service Cougars on Saturday at Dimond High School in Anchorage. The Warriors used a 22-11 third-quarter run to gain full control of the momentum in the win. Junior Jenna Johnson led the Warriors with 18 points, 12 rebounds and five steals. Senior Shelby Fulton added eight points. Wasilla (11-5) suffered a first-round loss to South Anchorage, the eventual champion of the event, and beat West Valley on Friday to move into the fourth-place game. Knights sweep Bears in Kodiak KODIAK — The Colony Knights improved to 3-1 in Northern Lights Conference play with a pair of wins over the Kodiak Bears at Kodiak High School last week. Juniors Kara Larson and Allie Grazulis combined for 21 points to lead the Knights to a 42-25 win over Kodiak on Friday. The Colony defense held Kodiak to single digits in scoring in each quarter, including only two points in the second. On the following day, junior Alex Coon scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Knights to a 46-33 win over the Bears. Grazulis added nine points in the win, while Larson chipped in seven. Vanessa Grace led the Grizzlies with 16 points. Ema Olsen scored seven for Houston. Grace held the Hawks to single digits in each quarter. Before the Hawks joined the 4A Mid-Alaska Conference prior to the beginning of the season, the teams had been rivals in the 3A Southcentral Conference.
