A funeral will be held in honor of his life at 2 p.m. Feb. 18 at First Baptist Church in Palmer.
Clark was born in Davenport, Iowa, Sept. 18, 1927, to Bernie and Morton L. Clark. He graduated from high school in Lima, Ohio, and went on to receive bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas, in 1973.

Clark served as a Southern Baptist church planting missionary and pastor in Florida, Texas, Wyoming and Alaska. In Alaska, he lived in Anderson, where he was pastor. He also served as a missionary in Ft. Yukon, Chalkytsik, Venetie and Healy. In Jackson Hole, Wyo., he was a church planter. In 1993, he retired and moved to Wasilla.
Churches exist today in Healy, Jackson Hole and Alpine, Wyo., as a result of his ministry. Prior to being a missionary he was a social service worker, cattle rancher and dude ranch operator.
Clark was a faithful Southern Baptist and supporter of First Baptist Church of Palmer, as well as a member of the NRA, Republican National Committee and supporter of President George W. Bush. Although not a veteran, he was always patriotic. He was proud owner and sole proprietor of Galv-Weld Products, a company founded by his father in 1936.
Clark enjoyed hunting, camping, singing hymns, working on the computer, spending time with his wife and family, playing musical instruments and shooting guns. A couple of his favorite thoughts were “He is God, I Am Not” and “Jesus Christ the Same Yesterday, Today and Forever.”
The Clarks have four sons, Bernie (Janet) Clark of North Carolina, Tim (Glenda) Clark of Utah, Matt (Fran) Clark of Talkeetna and Mark (Teresa) Clark of North Dakota; and a daughter, Rebecca (Jack) Sherman of Palmer. He is survived by all, as well as 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his two brothers, Don (Chris) Clark of Punta Gorda, Fla., and Jack (Alice) Clark of Erie, Colo., and one sister, Alta Heinz of Bradenton, Fla.
In lieu of flowers, donations for church planting may be made to the Alaska Baptist Convention, 1750 O’Malley Road, Anchorage, AK 99507.

heart and was always concerned that everyone he met came to pray to receive Christ as their Savior. He also
had a pastor's heart for Christians and
always had a listening ear for those who were troubled. He's up in heaven with Jesus now, just praising and worshiping God, and greeting all his loved ones who are there. "
