WARRANT ARREST
Feb. 26: Officers stopped a vehicle being driven by a person known to have an arrest warrant. James Hatter Jr., 19, of Palmer was arrested on a $500 warrant for failure to appear on the original charge of misconduct involving a controlled substance VI. Hatter was additionally arrested for driving while his license is suspended. Hatter was remanded on the warrant and an additional $250 bail for the driving while his license is suspended.

Feb. 29: Officers responded to the Palmer Adult Probations Offices and contacted Cassandra Sullivan, 21, of Palmer. Sullivan was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on the charges of theft II and two counts of misconduct involving a controlled substance IV and was remanded on $5,000 bail to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility.
MVC
Feb. 26: Jennifer A. Martin, 26, of Wasilla was exiting the Carrs/Safeway parking lot, onto the Glenn Highway, when her vehicle collided with a vehicle being driven south on the Glenn Highway by a 16-year-old male from Palmer. Neither Martin, the teen or the teen’s 16-year-old passenger were injured in the accident. Martin was issued a citation for driver to exercise due care to avoid collision and the teen was issued a citation for operating vehicle in violation of a provisional license. Both vehicles were driven from the accident scene.
THEFT
Feb. 27: A Palmer man reported that sometime during the night of Feb. 26, someone took the tailgate off a white Ford pickup parked at Metal Creek Auto Body.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS
Feb. 27: Police observed Richard Vowell, 18, of Palmer and a 17-year-old male in the Carrs parking lot. Vowell and the juvenile had been previously trespassed and were summonsed for criminal trespass II. Vowell was released on his own recognizance. The juvenile was released to an adult.
DWLCSR
Feb. 29: Police summonsed Chad Lindsey Kreftmeyer, 19, of Wasilla for driving without a valid driver license. Kreftmeyer was contacted following a traffic stop for failure to wear a safety belt.
ASSAULT
Feb. 29: A 15-year-old male of Palmer reported being assaulted by two other teenage males in the downtown area of Palmer as he was walking home. The victim reported a minor injury but did not require medical attention.
WASILLA POLICE DEPARTMENT
RECKLESS DRIVING
Feb. 28: Police received a complaint of a reckless driver. Police stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, a 17-year-old male from Anchorage. The complainant responded to the scene and placed the driver under citizen’s arrest with the assistance of police. The juvenile male was remanded at the Mat-Su Youth Facility with bail set at $500 and conditions of release being no driving.
DUI
Feb. 28: A Wasilla man reported a reckless driver on the Parks Highway southbound into Wasilla. Christopher Childs, 23, of Anchorage was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. Childs was transported to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where bail was set at $5,000, cash or corporate, and third-party custodian.
Feb. 29: Police made contact with a vehicle for speeding on the Parks Highway. Jonathan Laselle, 27, of Wasilla was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. Laselle was transported to the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility wHere bail was set at $750 cash only plus other standard driving under the influence conditions of release.
SHOPLIFTING
Feb. 28: Police responded to Fred Meyer for a report of a 17-year-old male in custody for shoplifting. The juvenile allegedly left the store without paying for $23.98 worth of merchandise. A charge of theft IV is being forwarded to Juvenile Justice.
WARRANT ARREST
Feb. 28: Police contacted Tara Steward, 25, of Wasilla who had an outstanding $100 failure to appear warrant for operating a vehicle without a valid license. Steward was transported and booked at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility.
ALASKA STATE TROOPERS
WARRANT ARREST
March 3, 11:30 p.m.: Troopers arrested Randy Fox, 20, of Big Lake on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of driving while his license is suspended. Fox was contacted while troopers was investigating a disturbance call on Boundary Road in Big Lake. Fox was remanded to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where bail was set at $100 cash or corporate.
FAILURE TO REGISTER
AS A SEX OFFENDER
March 3, 2 p.m.: Troopers stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Johnson Road and Parks Highway in Wasilla for a traffic offense. The operator was identified as Joseph Hensley, 33, of Houston. Hensley was found to be operating the vehicle on a suspended driver license and a non-compliant sex offender out of Florida who has not registered in Alaska. Hensley was arrested for driving while his license is suspended and failing to register as a sex offender. Hensley was transported to Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility where he was held on $5,000 bail.
