Visitation was March 27 with a service following. The Revs. Jerry Prevo, Lynn Wyckoff and Tom Hoffman officiated. Pallbearers were Tom Cobaugh, Richard Hoffacker, Tim Volstad, Wayne Edmonds, Eddie Bowden and David Duncan. Honorary pallbearers were Harold Lewis, Robert Morelar, Jim Lawler and David Buchanan. Burial was at Fort Richardson National Cemetery.
Brock was born in Cleveland, Okla., Dec. 10, 1938, to Delbert A. and Hazel C. Brock. He attended Eastern New Mexico University and received a Ph.D. from Dallas Christian College in 1972. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1957 to 1960. He started numerous Christian schools throughout the United States. In 1971, he was one of the founders of Anchorage Christian Schools and worked there until his retirement in 2002. He lived in Roswell, N.M., before moving to Alaska in June 1958, living in Fairbanks, Palmer and Anchorage.

His family wrote, “Delbert was a faithful husband, father and a servant of God. He never knew a stranger. He was a people person that loved to help and give to others. His life verse was Roman 8:28, because he believed that all things work together for good. He dedicated his life to serve the Lord at the age of 8 and continued faithfully until his death. He touched many lives at Anchorage Christian Schools and he loved the students and their families. His deepest love was for his family and his Lord Jesus Christ. His love for his family was evident by his love, compassion, tenderness, wisdom and gentle spirit. He will be greatly missed by all.”
Brock is survived by his wife of 49 years, Virginia Brock of Anchorage; daughter, Carol (Tracy) Olson of Wasilla; sons, Michael (Terry) Brock of Wasilla and Daryl (Annie) Hunter of Anchorage; grandchildren, Jennifer and Jonathan Ingram, Brittany Olson, Benjamin Olson, Jacob Olson, Brandon Olson, Jonathan Olson, Joseph Olson, Brianna Olson, Michael Brock II, Matthew Brock, Miles Brock, Jacqueline Brock and Taylor Hunter; and extended family, Scott and Gina Stucky, Robert and Ruth Moreland, Jennifer Brock, Norma McDonald, Harold and Nita Lewis, David and Marilyn Buchanan, Mark and Lori Runkle, and Jim and Ruth Lawler.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jimmie L. Schrock and niece Kathy Moyer.
Arrangements were with Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
