Mario James “Jimmy” Fine

North Fork, Colo., resident Mario James “Jimmy” Fine passed away as a result of an automobile accident March 30, 2008 in Austin, Colo. He was 35.

Fine was born in Anchorage on June 24, 1972 to Larry E. and Julia A. Fine. He spent his childhood in Seattle, Wash., and Anchorage and Wasilla. He attended Houston Jr. High. Fine resided in Utah prior to moving to the Hotchkiss/Paonia area of Colorado eight years ago.

Fine married the love of his life, Kerri Sue Thorngren, and the couple would have celebrated over 19 years of love and marriage together this year.

Fine loved his career with Patterson Drilling Rig 170 in Rifle, Colo., and cherished the many crew members he worked with for many years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, boating, snowmobiling, going to yard sales and having a cold drink with his buddies. Most importantly, his greatest enjoyment and love was his family.

Fine is survived by his beloved wife, Kerri of Hotchkiss, Colo.; father Larry Fine of Maui, Hawaii; mother Julia Fine of Wasilla; sons Derek James Fine and Timothy Tallerico and daughter Ashley Jean Fine of Hotchkiss; twin brother Joseph Darrell Fine of Wasilla; sisters Juile Fine of Wasilla and Erica Nelson of Arizona; and paternal grandmother LaVern Fine of Wasilla.
