Grace Christian sweeps Su Valley Invitational

TALKEETNA — Grace Christian School swept the team titles at the Susitna Valley Invitational in Talkeenta on Saturday.

A pair of Valley programs finished second in the team standings.

Led by the work of its relay squads, Houston finished second in the boys’ standings with 127.83 points.

Scott Herman won the triple jump, marking the Hawks’ individual title.

Dustin Dodds (100 and 300-meter hurdles) and Israel Morales (shot put and discus) each took second in two events.

Hunter Seibold also took second for HHS in the 100.

Host Su Valley finished second in the girls’ standings with 63.5 points.

Junior Caitlin Hunt, the top high jumper in the state, won the high jump with a mark of 4 feet and 10 inches, six inches better than the second-place finisher.

Hunt also won the long jump for the Rams.

Jessica Larrabee won the 300 hurdles to lead the Houston girls to a fifth-place finish in the team standings.
