ALASKA STATE TROOPERS

MVC

June 30, 9 a.m., Mile 31 Glenn Hwy.: William S. Carson, 53, Wasilla, southbound when he lost control of his vehicle and slid into the guardrail and the bridge concrete rails. Seatbelt worn. Vehicle, total loss. Citation: failure to exercise due care to avoid a collision.

June 25, 8:17 p.m., Trunk Rd. at Palmer-Fishhook Rd.: Janet Kincaid, 74, Palmer, northbound attempting to make a left turn when she collided with Inez Maupin, 73, Palmer. Total damage, $12,000. Seatbelts worn. Maupin sustained minor injuries.

June 30, 10:04 p.m., Mile 35 Glenn Hwy.: A 17-year-old Eagle River girl was northbound, lost control of her vehicle, collided with the guard rail and rolled the vehicle onto its roof. The teen was ejected during the rollover and transported to Mat-Su Regional for minor injuries. Seatbelt was not worn. Citation: failure to wear safety belt. Vehicle, total loss.

DWLCSR

June 22, 11:33 p.m., Mile 1.5 Knik-Goose Bay Rd.: Travis A. D. Barber, 19, found to be DWLS (driving while license suspended) during traffic stop. Bail, $500. Also cited for insurance requirements.

DUI

June 29, 5:13 a.m., Reliance Dr., Knik-Goose Bay Rd.: Ezra J. Naylor, 19, Anchorage, stopped for reckless driving. Charges:  DUI (driving under the influence), MCA (minor consuming alcohol) and MOCA (minor operating after consuming alcohol). Bail, $500. Passengers Ambert M. Seth, 19, and Christopher M. O’Hara, 18, both of Wasilla, summonsed for MCA.

June 28, 4:23 a.m., Old Glenn Hwy. near Clark-Wolverine Rd.: Vincent T. Price, 24, Palmer, stopped for erratic driving. Charge: DUI; bail, $1,000.  

June 29, 1:22 a.m., Mile 6 Knik-Goose Bay Rd.: Britni A. Jackson, 18, Wasilla, stopped for equipment violation. Charges: DUI, MCA and MOCA. Bail, $750.

June 27, 10:09 p.m., Bogard Rd. near Caribou St.: Ernest R. Stidman, 30, Wasilla, stopped for equipment violation. Charge: DUI.

VIOLATING CONDITIONS OF RELEASE

June 28, 3:30 a.m., Mug Shot Saloon: Jeffery H. Stephens, 39, Wasilla, contacted during an assault investigation and found to have consumed alcohol. Bail, $250.

BURGLARY / THEFT

June 29, 11:05 a.m., Murphy’s Bluff Rd.: A 56-year-old Wasilla male reported someone burglarized his residence between 5 p.m. June 28 and 10:50 a.m. June 29. Various items stolen include Jack Daniels collectibles. Total value unknown. Investigation continues.

June 30, 8 p.m., near Mile 70 Glenn Hwy.: Four rifles and a pistol were stolen, along with ammunition. Investigation continues. Call troopers at 745-2131 or Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.

June 30, 5:44 p.m., Friar Tuck: Property valued at approximately $600 missing from home. Call troopers at 745-2131 or Crime Stoppers at 745-3333. Investigation continues.

June 30, 6:55 p.m., Sunderling Rd.: A front window screen damaged and a Taurus .44 Magnum revolver stolen. Value, $600. Damage, $50. Call troopers at 745-2131 or Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.

MICS

June 30, 1:48 a.m., Larson Elementary: Ryan Stinson, 22, Wasilla, contacted in the parking lot allegedly smoking marijuana. A glass pipe and 0.4 grams of marijuana were confiscated. Stinson was summonsed.    

FAILURE TO REGISTER

June 29, 4:35 p.m., Seward Meridian Pkwy. at Cottonwood Way: Kevin Lafountain, 49, Anchorage, stopped for traffic violation. Summons: failure to register as a sex offender.

WARRANT ARREST

June 30, 4:45 p.m., Pittman Rd. near Peninsula Rd.: Billy Hamilton John, 21, Wasilla, contacted as a passenger of a stopped vehicle. John found to have two warrants for FTA: one for DUI and one for assault IV. Bail, $1,000.

MEDICAL RESCUE

June 30, 11:15 a.m.: Robert Mann, 58, Wasilla, reported he was in an ATV accident, injured and needed assistance near Wolf Point, approximately 13 miles up the Knik River. Butte Volunteer Fire Department responded, rendered aid and summoned a helicopter for air evacuation. Transported to Mat-Su Regional. Condition unknown at report time.

UNLAWFUL METHODS

June 21, 8 p.m., Long Lake: Leng Vang, 25, Youa Vang, 26, Hnang Vang, 28, and Fue Vang, 19, all of Anchorage, cited for using bait where prohibited. Bail, $110 each.

June 14, 9:13 p.m., Long Lake: James Parker, 27, Anchorage, cited for using a treble hooked lure in single-hook-only waters. Also cited for retaining one rainbow trout in catch-and-release-only waters. Bail $240.

DWLCSR

June 22, 10:55 p.m.: Scott Bostwick, 36, Wasilla, found to be DWLS during a traffic stop.

DUI

June 14, 10:45 p.m., Knik River public use area: Peter Lundy, 39, Anchorage, arrested for DUI during a reckless driving and child endangerment investigation. Transported to the trooper post where his breath alcohol content measured .064%. Later released to sober third party. Investigation later revealed Lundy gave his brother’s name and personal information and was driving while license revoked. Charges of reckless endangerment, DWLR, providing false information and contributing to the delinquency of a minor forwarded to District Attorney.

A LICENSE

June 13, 10:50 p.m., Big Lake: Jeff Jones, 49, Anchorage, cited for sportfishing without a valid license on Big Lake. Bail, $210.

WASILLA POLICE DEPARTMENT

MVC

June 22, 9:06 p.m.. Knik-Goose Bay Rd. at Riley Ave.: David Donaldson, 18, Wasilla, was southbound in a line of cars stopped for the traffic light. When the light turned green, Donaldson rear-ended a vehicle driven by Kystal Maea, 22, Wasilla. No injuries. Donaldson cited for failing to exercise due care to avoid a collision.

June 22, 11:54 p.m., Mat-Su Regional E.R.: A 26-year-old  female was a passenger in a motor vehicle accident on the Parks Hwy. near North Frontage Road by Fred Meyer. The vehicle that was struck by a dark colored truck. The extent of her injuries is unknown. Investigation continues.

June 25, 11:03 p.m., Fairview Loop and Old Mat Rd.: Michael Mach, 21, Wasilla, westbound when he passed a vehicle in a no-passing zone. Mach lost control and slid off the road. The vehicle rolled and came to rest upside down. No injuries. Vehicle, total loss. Mach cited for passing in a no-passing zone.

THEFT / SHOPLIFTING

June 23, 4:30 a.m., Wal-Mart: Dominic Yacovelli, 20, Wasilla, allegedly stole $70 worth of merchandise. Yacovelli also had an outstanding warrant. Yacovelli cited for theft III and remanded on the warrant to Mat-Su Pre-Trial.

June 24, 10 a.m., Performance Yamaha: The owner reported several gallons of gas had been stolen over the past month. Value, $1,350. Call police at 352-5401 or Mat-Su Crime Stoppers at 745-3333 with information. Investigation continues.

June 24, 12 p.m.: A 46-year-old Wasilla man reported he made a purchase from Home Depot on June 21 at 5:29 p.m. and inadvertently left an envelop containing a significant amount of cash at the U-Scan register he used. Video surveillance showed the next customer in line making a purchase using a debit card, taking the envelope and leaving the store. Home Depot is cooperating with police and providing copies of surveillance video and debit card information. Police hope to make an arrest for theft II in the near future.

June 24, 3:49 p.m.: A 37-year-old Wasilla female reported on June 6 an unknown person picked up her prescription from Wal-Mart Pharmacy. Investigation continues.

June 17, Sportsman’s Warehouse: Loss Prevention reported a theft from June 14. James Francois Jr., 28, Wasilla, allegedly stole a fishing reel. Value, $89.99. Charges of theft II forwarded to District Attorney.

PALMER POLICE DEPARTMENT

THEFT / BURGLARY

June 23, Palmer Pool: A 29-year-old Colorado male reported his wallet was taken from a lockers.

June 24: A 75-year-old Wasilla male reported $375 in wood pallets stolen from his job site.

June 24: A local business was burglarized during the evening. Damage, $50. Loss value, $25.

June 25, Alaska Family Services: An employee reported the theft of an Epson LCD Projector.

June 25: A 65-year-old Palmer male reported his bicycle was stolen from his residence.

June 25: A 25-year-old Palmer male reported approximately $4,500 in property taken from his residence while he was at work.

June 26, Palmer Library: A 31-year-old Palmer male reported his bicycle was stolen while he was inside.

June 26: A 55-year-old Palmer female reported the theft of a yellow and white DD Dyno bike from her yard.   

June 26: A 19-year-old Palmer female reported the theft of prescription medication.

June 29: A 48-year-old Palmer male reported a male going through his son’s vehicle. The male fled with an iPod prior to police arrival.

 

DUI

June 23: Lance Rhoades, 23, Palmer, arrested for DUI (driving under the influence). Bail, $250. Passenger Jason Lopez, 20, Palmer, summonsed for MCA (minor consuming alcohol).

June 25: Joel Gomez, 21, Anchorage, arrested for DUI following REDDI report. Bail $250.

June 28, Glenn Hwy.:  Nicole Evett Dreyer, 39, Palmer, stopped for erratic driving and a REDDI. Charges: DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test. Cited for open container. Bail, $2,000.

June 28: Kathleen Owens, 25, Anchorage, stopped for speeding and passing in no-passing zone. Charges: DUI and driving in violation of license limitations. Bail, $250.

June 29: Mark Chapin, 38, Eagle River, charged with DUI. Bail, $500.

ASSAULT

June 23: A 14-year-old Palmer male allegedly assaulted a 38-year-old male and a 36-year-old female, both of Palmer. Remanded at Mat-Su Youth Facility.

VANDALISM

June 25: A 25-year-old Palmer female reported the side window of her mini-van was broken out.

WARRANT ARREST

June 25, Palmer Police Dept.: Matthew John Heritage, 20, Houston, arrested on a warrant for FTA (failure to appear), original charge of MCA. Held in lieu of bail.

June 26: Douglas Alwyn Berberich-Rauchenstein, 18, Palmer, arrested on a warrant for FTA, original charge of theft III. Bail, $500.

MCA

June 25, Old Glenn, near Mat-River Park: Officers contacted Allen W. Christiansen Jr., 19, Palmer, sitting along the roadway. Summonsed for MCA, released to sober third party.

RUNAWAY / MISSING PERSONS

June 26: A 47-year-old Palmer male reported his 15-year-old son had run away and has not been seen since June 22. The juvenile was entered into APSIN (Alaska Public Safety Information Network) and NCIC (National Crime Infomation Network) as a runaway. Investigation continues.

DWLCSR

June 27, Click It or Ticket Campaign: Michael Wood, 46, Wasilla, observed driving and known to be DWLR (driving while license revoked). Summonsed and released.

June 28: Charles S. Hintsala, 46, Palmer, stopped for an equipment violation. Arrested for DWLR and cited for stoplight requirements and failure to provide proof of insurance. Bail, $1,000.

June 29: Terry Yacovelli, 46, Wasilla, contacted as a REDDI. Summonsed for DWLR and released.

FILING FALSE POLICE REPORT

June 27: During a disturbance report, officers contacted several individuals, one later determined to be Deanna L. Amerson, 36, Palmer, who gave a false name due to active warrants. Officers returned to the residence, were denied access, and told Amerson ran out the back door. Charges of filing a false police report forwarded to District Attorney.
