THEFT / BURGLARY

July 5, 6:54 p.m., Mulchatna Rd.: An unknown individual stole prescription medications between 3 and 3:30 p.m.

July 6, 1:24 p.m., Holobinko Rd.: Two neighboring residences were burglarized. The first had its front door kicked in, and the second had a rear window broken out, causing an alarm to go off. Nothing was taken from either residence.

July 6, 5 p.m., Lady Slipper Ln., Palmer: An estimated $5,000 in household items were stolen.  

July 7, 5:32 p.m., E. Chugach View Dr.: A burglary and theft occurred between 6:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. The front door was kicked in and an X-Box 360 was stolen. Value, $300. Damage, $500.  

July 10, 9:01 a.m., Settlers Bay Dr.: Between 4:30 p.m. July 9 and 7 a.m. July 10, someone prIEed open the front door to a business and knocked over an empty cash register. Nothing reported taken.   

July 10: Tracey Rhoads, 21, and Joshua Bussell, 19, both of Palmer, arrested and charged with burglary II and theft II following investigation of theft in Palmer. Rhoads’ bail, $5,000; Bussell’s bail, $25,000 with court-approved third party.

July 6, 1:40 a.m., Mile 68 Parks Hwy.: Jon Anderson, 44, Anchorage, stopped for speeding. Summons: DWLR (driving while license revoked).

July 6, 4:33 a.m., Knik-Goose Bay and Vine Rd.: Jace E. Fesler, 24, Wasilla, stopped for speeding. Summons: DWLR.

July 6, 3:46 a.m., Parks Hwy. and Main St.: Paul D. Weston, 29, Wasilla, stopped for a moving violation. Charges: DWLS (driving while license suspended)and false information. Bail, $1,500.

July 7, 8:38 p.m., Palmer-Wasilla Hwy. near Seward Meridian Pkwy.: Jacob Still, 26, Wasilla, stopped for an equipment violation. Summons: DWLR and expired registration.

July 9, 5:20 a.m., Moore Rd. and Glenn Hwy.:  Jacob Sanderson, 22, Palmer, stopped for not wearing a seatbelt. Summons: DWLR.

July 9, 7:57 p.m., Vine Rd. near Raspberry Loop: Cordell D. Sander, 21, Wasilla, stopped for equipment violation. Summons: NVOL (no valid operator license).

July 10, 8:20 p.m., Pittman Rd. near Meadow Lakes Loop: Neal Vannoy, 57, Big Lake, stopped for speeding. Summons: DWLR.

DUI

July 5. 4:56 a.m., Knik-Goose Bay Rd. near Horizon Dr.: John P. Lundy, 40, Wasilla, stopped for erratic driving and found to be DUI (driving under the influence) with a child under 16 years of age in the bed of the truck. Charges: DUI and endangering the welfare of a child I. Bail, $500.

July 5, 12:43 a.m., Museum Dr.: A vehicle driven by Connie L. Ford, 56, Wasilla, called in as a REDDI. She was located at a Lakeside Drive residence a few minutes later still in the driver’s seat. Charge, DUI; bail, $500.

July 5, 6:41 p.m., Knik Country Liquor near Pittman Rd.: Phillip Lawton, 39, Anchorage, contacted in the parking lot for a REDDI report. Lawton charged with DUI (driving under the influence) with two 9-year-old children in vehicle. Bail, $2,500 plus court-approved third party.

July 6, 1:57 a.m., Crusey St. at USA Cir.: Rheanna J. Hamrick, 22, Wasilla, stopped for equipment violation. Charge: DUI.

July 6, 2:32 a.m., Seward Meridian Pkwy. at Country Field Dr.: Kimberly A. Honrud, 21, Eagle River, stopped for speeding Charge: DUI.

July 6, 9:25 p.m., S. Rolly Campground, Willow: James J. Wiegert Jr., 50, and Karen M. House, 36, both of Anchorage, were contacted. House allegedly drove a vehicle into a tree and then Wiegert drove the vehicle back to their nearby campsite. Charge for each: DUI. House’s bail, $2,500; Wiegert’s bail, $1,500.

July 6, 11:55 p.m., Mile 52 Glenn Hwy.: Kristopher Faller, 31, Palmer, stopped for speeding. Charge: DUI; citation, speeding.

July 9, 3:57 p.m.: Vladimir Michael Danilenko, 27, Wasilla, observed driving his vehicle into an area noted for illegal trash dumping. Charge: DUI.

MVC

July 5, 12:49 p.m., Fairview Loop and Togiak Dr.: Michael L. Dix, 27, Anchorage, was westbound when he lost control of his motorcycle and ran off the road. Transported to Mat-Su Regional for possible injuries and observation. Damage, $2,000.

July 5, 11:22 a.m., Mile 4.7 Old Glenn Hwy.: Nathan D. Terpening, 29, Wasilla, was northbound when he lost control of his motorcycle and ran off the road. Transported to Mat-Su Regional for possible injuries and observation. Damage, $1,500.

July 6, 12:28 a.m., Mile 10.4 Knik-Goose Bay Rd.: William M. Johnson, 46, Wasilla, fell asleep while driving south, left the roadway and traveled approximately 300 yards before stopping. Johnson was transported to Mat-Su Regional for evaluation. Seatbelts worn. Damage, $10,000.

July 6, 5:12 a.m., Trunk Rd. near Duchess Dr.: Thomas J. Vickrey, 23, Palmer, was southbound when he apparently fell asleep, ran off road and rolled the vehicle. Seatbelt worn; no injuries. Charge: DUI, refusal. Bail, $500.

July 7, 3:58 p.m., Turner’s Corner: Gary McDannel, 61, Wasilla, collided with a parked car in the parking lot belonging to Thor Saum, 18, Palmer. Minor damage.  

July 8, 8:05 p.m., Mountian High Pizza Pie, Talkeetna: A 16-year-old male from Talkeetna jumped out of a pickup bed while it was still moving. The 16-year-old driver of Willow didn’t know he jumped out, and inadvertently ran him over. The victim was transported to Mat-Su Regional with minor injuries.  

ASSAULT

July 9, 2:19 p.m., Starlight Ln.: Selena Hartley-Timurphy, 18, Wasilla, allegedly physically assaulted her ex-boyfriend. No bail.

WARRANT ARREST

July 10, 1:17 a.m.: Kenneth P. Degroff, 20, Wasilla, arrested on a warrant for FTA (failure to appear), original charge of theft III at his residence. Bail, $2,000.

July 10, 6:31 p.m.: Cheryl D. Fichtner-Elliott, 44, Wasilla, arrested on a warrant for FTA, original charge violating conditions of probation, at her residence. Bail, $5,000.

July 10, 7:30 p.m.: Michael I. A. Lanz, 18, Big Lake, arrested on a warrant for failure to comply with conditions of probation, original charge of minor consuming alcohol. Remanded to Mat-Su Pre-Trial.

ASSAULT

July 8, 2:14 a.m.: David Morrison, 32, Wasilla, arrested for alleged domestic violence assault IV. No bail.

THEFT

July 8, 7:04 a.m., Kalli Cir. subdivision: A 32-year-old male reported his truck missing. The vehicle is a black and white 1992 Mazda pickup with a West Coast Chopper sticker and flame painting on the hood.

July 8, 7:27 p.m., Fred Meyer: Tami Hobson, 41, Wasilla, was caught by loss prevention allegedly purchasing bulk food items and intentionally under-valuing the items during self checkout. Value, $154.88. Summonsed for theft III.

July 9, 4:51 p.m., Fred Meyer: Roger Harvey, 21, Palmer, was placed under citizen’s arrest for allegedly stealing. Value, $31. Harvey was also found to be in possession of illegal drugs. Remended to Mat-Su Pre-Trial.

LOST AND FOUND

July 8, 6:57 p.m., near Mat-Su Family Restaurant: A Wasilla man found a wallet near Mat-Su Family Restaurant belonging to Sherry Armstrong. The wallet was placed into safekeeping.

MVC

July 9, 2:04 p.m., Parks Hwy. at Lucille St.: A 16-year-old Big Lake female was stopped when her vehicle was rear-ended by Michael McKeever, 49, Wasilla. No injuries. Citations/summonses for McKeever: failing to exercise due care to avoid a collision, no proof of insurance and DWLS.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS

July 9, 11:30 p.m., Wal-Mart: Umphria Maston, 25, Wasilla, who had been previously trespassed, was yelling profanities in the parking lot. Arrested for criminal trespass II. Bail, $200.

June 29, 6:20 p.m., Rabbit Slough: Roy Randolf, 68, cited for sportfishing in closed waters. Bail, $110.

June 29, 9:15 p.m., Moose Creek: Daniel Matthews, 39, Palmer, cited for sportfishing in closed waters and failure to log King salmon. Bail, $630.

July 2: Michael Mason, 47, arrested on a warrant for FTA (failure to appear), original charge of operating a vehicle without a valid license. Bail, $200.

July 5, 6:20 p.m., Willow Creek: Jason Seidell, 33, Wasilla, cited for using a treble lure in single-hook-only waters. Bail, $110.  

June 29, 5:56 p.m., Long Lake: Todd Pietila, 21, Wasilla, cited for using bait on artificial-lure-only waters. Bail, $110.  

FALSE STATEMENT

July 5, 5 p.m., Willow Creek: Shane Pagel, 47, Olympia, Wash., cited for false statement on license application, non-resident king salmon stamp required, failure to log king salmon, and removing king salmon from water prior to release. Bail, $890.

July 5, 5 p.m., Willow Creek: Cherilyn Flynn, 48, Olympia, Wash., cited for false statement on license application. Bail, $310.  

MCA

July 4, 9:30 p.m., Big Lake: Nick Wiederhold, 19, Big Lake, summonsed for MCA (minor consuming alcohol) and MOCA (minor operating after consuming alcohol) during a boater safety inspection with members of the US Coast Guard temporarily assigned for the July 4 weekend.

July 6, 2:15 a.m., Eklutna Trailrace: John Benito, 21, Anchorage, cited for fishing for king salmon without a non-resident king salmon stamp. Bail, $210.

REMOVE SALMON WITHOUT RETAINING

July 5: Kara Berg, 31, of Burlington, Vt., cited for removing a king salmon over 20 inches and not retaining the fish. Bail, $110.

July 5: Kenneth Mattison, 56, of Anchorage cited for removing a king salmon over 20 inches and not retaining the fish. Bail, $110.
