Warren Leach was northbound, driving on the shoulder, attempting to turn into the Holiday Gas Station, when he struck Culver’s vehicle. THEFT Aug. 8, 5:55 p.m., D&A ShopRite: A 10-year-old Wasilla male allegedly took batteries then refused to pay. Charges of theft IV forwarded to Juvenile Justice. Aug. 8, 6:31 p.m., Sportsman’s Warehouse: Loss prevention personnel reported Adam Davis, 18, Palmer and a 17-year-old Palmer male allegedly took $7 of fishing tackle. Davis cited for theft IV; the 17-year-old released to his parent with charges of theft IV referred to Juvenile Justice. Aug. 9, W. Spruce Ave.: A female reported on Aug. 6 a suitcase and her dog stolen from her driveway. The suitcase contained various electronics, jewelry, personal items and cash. The dog is a 5-month old light brown male Chihuahua weighing 1-1.5 pounds, has a white spot on its head and chest, three or four white socks and is named “Magwoi,” but sometimes answers to “Baby.” Aug. 12, Treasure Loft Thrift Store: A woman reported her purse stolen while shopping. DUI Aug. 8, 10:06 a.m., Parks Hwy. at Church St.: Lloyd Jenkins, 29, Chugiak, stopped for speeding. Charge: DUI (driving under the influence), felony, and refusal to submit to a breath analysis. Bail, $1,000. Aug. 9, 2:01 a.m., Lucas Rd. and Nugget Ave.: William Howard, 23, Wasilla, stopped for erratic driving. Charge: DUI, felony. Bail, $5,000. Aug. 11, 7:39 a.m.: Edward St. Louis, 55, Anchorage, stopped as a REDDI. Charge: DUI. Bail, $1,000. DWLCSR /NVOL Aug. 9, 12:14 a.m.: Susan Ace, 44, Big Lake, stopped for an equipment violation. MICS Aug. 9, 10:43 p.m.: Brandon Thompson, 26, Big Lake, stopped for a moving violation. Summons: misconduct involving a controlled substance VI (marijuana). ASSAULT Aug. 11, 5:26 p.m.: Stephen Pelch, 57, Wasilla, allegedly struck a parked car in the Great Bear Brewing Co. parking lot, refused to stop for the complainant and was followed to the Carrs/Safeway parking lot where he backed into one of the witnesses trying to stop him. Pelch then ran into another parked vehicle before leaving the Carrs/Safeway parking lot. Charges: assault III and leaving the scene of an accident. Bail, $2,500. VIOLATING PROTECTIVE ORDER Aug. 12, 4:25 p.m.: William Pariseau, 29, Wasilla, allegedly violated a stalking protective order. DOMESTIC VIOLENCE/ ASSAULT Aug. 13, 5:05 a.m.: James Mitchell II, 21, Wasilla, allegedly assaulted his 19-year-old girlfriend. The girlfriend had minor injuries and was taken to Mat-Su Regional. Mitchell arrested; no bail. ALASKA STATE TROOPERS MVC Aug. 13, 6:56 p.m., Trunk Rd. and Marcell Dr.: Scott Bates, 21, Wasilla, was southbound when he steered left to go around a slower moving vehicle, and collided with Theron L. Powell, 42, Palmer. Seatbelts worn; no injuries. Both vehicles a total loss. Bates cited for failure to exercise due care to avoid a collision. Aug. 13, 10:18 p.m., Mile 34 Glenn Hwy.: John W. Condio, 44, Wasilla was northbound when he rear ended Ruth N. Orien, 49, Anchorage. No injuries; seatbelts worn. Condio was allegedly DUI. Aug. 2, 5:30 p.m., Palmer-Wasilla Hwy. and North 49th State St.: Joshua Mullins, 18, Wasilla, northbound, turned left into the path of a 17-year-old Palmer male. Mullins cited for failure to yield when turning left. The teen was cited for driving in violation of his instructional permit. Damage, $3,000. No injuries, seatbelts worn. BURGLARY / THEFT Aug. 13, 10:30 p.m., Mile 72 Glenn Hwy.: Forced entry was made into the cabin and items were stacked up. It is unknown what may have been stolen because the owner could not be contacted. Aug. 13, 7:40 p.m., Allen’s Dr.: Several items including one firearm were taken. Value, $1,500. No damage. Aug. 13, 6 p.m., Pittman Rd.: Unknown suspect(s) forced entry through the rear door. Damage, $800. Several items, including two firearms, were taken. Value, $1,000. WARRANT ARREST Aug. 13, 6:16 p.m.: Gerald Roy Nicoli Jr., 40, Big Lake, arrested on a DUI warrant after he was contacted passed out in the back of a vehicle. Bail, $1,000. Aug. 12, 10 p.m., S. Spruce Ct.: During a disturbance report, Angela Bircher, 20, Big Lake, arrested on a warrant for contempt of court. Bail, $250. |
