Wasilla man charged with molesting girl, 8 By Andrew WellnerFrontiersman WASILLA — Alaska State Troopers have arrested a Wasilla man over allegations he molested an 8-year-old girl. Victor R. Brown, 31, faces one count of first-degree sexual abuse of a minor and one count of second-degree sexual abuse of a minor. Troopers first got wind of Brown Aug. 7 at 10:30 a.m. when the Office of Children’s Services called in a report of harm possibly done to the girl, according to an affidavit Trooper Sherry Ferno filed in the case. Interviews with the girl indicated Brown touched her on her breast and genitals, at times penetrating her. On Aug. 11, troopers recorded a phone conversation between Brown and the girl’s mother. On the recording, Brown admits to touching the girl but not to penetrating her, the affidavit says. “Victor was asked if he was drunk when it happened, Victor responded ‘yes,’” Ferno wrote. “Victor said it was crazy, it’s horrible.” Troopers arrested Brown Tuesday, after which they interviewed him, the affidavit says. At first, Brown told troopers he never touched the girl, that it was all a vicious rumor started by his sister. Eventually, though, Victor said he had molested the girl more than five times. “Victor stated he had just lost his job with [a trucking company] and he was depressed,” Ferno wrote. Brown remains jailed at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility. He is next due in court Aug. 22. |
