PALMER POLICE DEPARTMENT

WARRANT ARREST

Aug. 11: Jesse Lee Edwards, 25, Wasilla, arrested on a warrant for failure to report to jail, original charge of DUI (driving under the influence). No bail.

Aug. 13: Jacob M. Novak, 21, Anchorage, turned himself in on a warrant for FTA (failure to appear), original charge of MCA (minor consuming alcohol). Bail, $250.

Aug. 13: Ashley R. Larson, 19, Wasilla, arrested on a warrant for FTA, original charge MCA. Bail, $500.       

LOST AND FOUND

Aug. 12: A Palmer man turned over a recovered bicycle.

THEFT

Aug. 12, Carrs/Safeway: Jerome Knox, 29, Wasilla, summonsed for concealment of merchandise after allegedly concealing $21.79 of merchandise.

Aug. 13: A woman reported her boyfriend’s possessions stolen from their locked storage unit. Estimated value, $2,000.

Aug. 14: An Anchorage woman reported someone stole a piece of her parked vehicle’s rear taillight assembly.

Aug. 14: A Palmer man reported his cell phone disappeared from his house on the evening of Aug. 8. 

Aug. 16, 307 S. Chugach: A man reported his bicycle was taken from the bike rack.

DWLCSR

Aug. 15: Patrick Michael McNeel, 42, Big Lake, summonsed for DWLS (driving while license suspended) following a traffic stop.

Aug. 17: Linda D. Woodfall arrested for DWLR (revoked) after stopped for traffic violation. Bail, $500.  

MCA

Aug. 17, Carrs/Safeway: Douglas Berberich-Rauchenstein, 21, Palmer, Joshua Alsterberg, 19, Palmer, Magdalina Nickel, 18, Palmer, and Michael Oviatt, 20, Palmer, contacted as people allegedly breaking beer bottles in the parking lot. Berberich-Rauchenstein remanded at Mat-Su Pre-Trial on a warrant for FTA (fail to appear), original charge of theft III. Bail, $250. Alsterberg, Nickel and Oviatt summonsed for MCA.

WASILLA POLICE DEPARTMENT

THEFT

Aug. 14, 5 p.m., Sportsman’s Warehouse: Charges of theft forwarded to Juvenile Intake on a juvenile who stole $20.99.

MVC

Aug. 14, Parks Hwy. near Knik-Goose Bay Rd.: Loraine Ketelsen, 87, Wasilla, made an improper lane change and collided with an eastbound vehicle driven by Troy Cozzen, 39 Glennallen.

Aug. 14, Crusey St. and Parks Hwy.: Brandy Hensley, 23, Wasilla, failed to take due care to avoid a collision when approaching the intersection and struck a vehicle driven by Sara Hardy, 51, Wasilla.

ASSAULT

Aug. 14, 8:14 p.m., Vincent Cir.: A 20-year-old Wasilla women was allegedly assaulted by her 25-year-old husband. The women had injuries, but declined medical treatment. The husband fled the scene prior to officers arrival. Domestic violence assault charges forwarded to District Attorney.

ALASKA STATE TROOPERS

MVC

Aug. 15, 5:07 p.m., Glenn Hwy. at Crimsonview Dr.: Brian Woods, 44, Palmer, pulled onto the highway in a U-Haul and was struck by Sarah Petz, 26, Wasilla. Both drivers transported to Mat-Su Regional for minor injuries. U-Haul damage, $2,000; Petz’ vehicle a total loss. Woods was wearing his seatbelt, Petz was not. Petz cited for failure to wear seatbelt and for failure to turn off turn signal. Woods cited for failure to yield to oncoming traffic.  

Aug. 16, 8:23 a.m., Mile 17 Hatcher Pass Rd.: Thor Saum, 18, Palmer, fell asleep behind the wheel, ran off the road and rolled into the ditch, stopping upside down. Seatbelts worn; no injuries. Damage, $4,000.

DUI

Aug. 15, 10:54 p.m.: Thomas M. Moe, 67, Wasilla, stopped for erratic driving. Moe was allegedly DUI and refused the Datamaster test. Bail, $500.

Aug. 16, 12:09 a.m., Sullivan Rd. near Old Glenn. Hwy.: Russell E. Bever, 49, Peters Creek, stopped for moving violation. Bever was allegedly DUI, in possession of two firearms and had multiple open containers of alcohol. Upon arrival at Mat-Su Pre-Trial, Bever refused the Datamaster test. Bail, $1,500.  

Aug. 17, 4:22 a.m., Parks Hwy. at Vine Rd.: Benjamin E. Fletcher, 21, Kasilof, stopped for erratic driving. Fletcher was allegedly DUI and DWLR. Bail, $2,500. Additionally, a 14-year-old female passenger and 15-year-old male passenger, both of Anchorage were summonsed for MCA and released to parents.

Aug. 17, 1:10 a.m., Bogard Rd. near Dellwood Ave.: James M. Reed, 44, Wasilla, was stopped for speeding. Charges: DUI and possession of approximately 2.4 grams of marijuana.

Aug. 14, 9:27 p.m., Mile 46 to Mile 48.5 Parks Hwy.: Karen A. Jensen, 54, Wasilla, stopped for a moving violation after initially failing to yield. Charges: DUI and resisting arrest. Bail, $2,500.

Aug. 16, 9:18 p.m., Wade Rd., Willow: During a criminal mischief investigation, contact was made with 36-year-old Jason Crockett of Willow. Crockett was allegedly intoxicated when he drove his six-wheeler across the slough and got it stuck. Troopers reported a small bag of marijuana was found in his pocket. Bail, $600.

DWLCSR

Aug. 16, 5:30 a.m., Mile 49 Parks Hwy.: Danielle Carrier, 29, Big Lake was stopped for speeding. Charge: DWLR. Bail, $500.

WARRANT ARREST

Aug. 17, 12:10 a.m., Danielson Ave., Sutton: Kyle L. Purnell, 44, Sutton was arrested on a warrant for FTA, original charges of DUI, DWLR and reckless driving. No bail.

Aug. 17, 1 a.m., Schultz Rd.: Terry Yacovelli, 46, Wasilla, arrested on a warrant for FTA. Bail, $1,000.

Aug. 16, 2:40 p.m., Big Lake Lodge Rd.: Michael A. Okpeakluk, 26, Big Lake, arrested during a traffic stop on two warrants for FTA, original charges of criminal trespass. Bail, $500.

Aug. 16, 7:30 a.m., Mile 15 Knik-Goose Bay Rd.: Clifford D. Gregg, 35, Anchorage, arrested on a warrant for FTA, original charge of DWLS (suspended) and no insurance. No bail.

ASSAULT

Aug. 17, 1:08 a.m., W. Stein St.: Shawn M. Ferreira, 21, Wasilla, allegedly assaulted a family member. Charge: assault IV.

Aug. 17, 6:30 a.m., Holland Ave.: Micheal A. Moore, 20, Wasilla, allegedly assaulted two family members. Both family members transported to Mat-Su Regional for injuries. Charge: assault; no bail.  

BURGLARY

Aug. 17, 12:59 p.m., Tamarak Ave.: Between 11:30 a.m. and 12:59 p.m., the residence was burglarized through the back door and a computer was taken.

Aug. 17, 2:51 p.m., Skyview Dr.: At about 2:30 p.m., a white 1976 Georgie Boy motor home, Alaska plate CBV291, was towed from the rear of the property by a white Ford F-150 super cab fleet side with a short box. Value, $2,000. In addition, a lock was pried off the door of a small storage shed on the property and a tanned brown bear hide and an older model 50-horse Evinrude outboard motor were taken from the shed. Value, $1,500.
