According to a troopers report, the Good Samaritan, who is not named, stopped at the intersection of Palmer Fishhook Road and Snowgoose Drive around 11:51 p.m. after he witnessed a man and a woman with an infant having an argument.
Another vehicle arrived with four occupants, three of whom got out of the vehicle, and an altercation took place, according to the report.

After flagging down another motorist who called for help on a cell phone, the Good Samaritan went back to the scene where two males began approaching him aggressively, according to the troopers report.
That’s when the Good Samaritan fired one shot from a hand gun he had, hitting one of the men in the leg, the report says. The gunshot victim was treated for his wound and released from Mat-Su Regional Medical Center.
No charges have been filed at this time, and names are being withheld while troopers investigate.
Troopers are asking anyone with information about the altercation to call them at 745-2131 or call Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.
