My parents who are staunch Republicans were just in Alaska over the last couple of weeks and could not find ONE person that supported the McCain/ Palin ticket. " Bluemoon - yes you are wrong. $2200 was our annual permanent fund dividend, which she has nothing to do with whatsoever, and the additional $1200 is the energy relief check also from oil revenues and although this may have been her idea it was the Alaskan legislature that had to vote and pass this bill along with appropriations for alternative energy (in special session, in an election year). The approval rating is from when she was running for governor, I believe. If you took a current poll I do not believe it would be nearly that high. "

Most every letter or editorial I have seen here has is a tip of the hat in her favor.

And that 80% approval rating is OLD NEWS!

A poll I saw just yesterday in an Alaskan newspaper shows that 94% of the people voting don't think she is qualified to be VP, with 1% undecided.

But, I have to say it will be interesting to see how many of you locals do think she is qualified. "
