PALMER POLICE DEPARTMENT

DWLCSR

Sept. 11: Palmage Brymer, 47, Palmer, summonsed for DWLR (driving while license revoked) following a car accident.

Sept. 12: Brandon Devall, 33, Palmer, summonsed for DWLR during a traffic stop.

Sept. 17: Brendon Leon Charles Abruska, 33, Anchorage, arrested for DWLR. Bail, $250. Cited for proof of insurance requirements. 

CHECK FRAUD / SCAM

Sept. 11: Police investigated a check fraud scam involving a forged check and Atlantic Lottery letterhead. The check and form letter originated out of Canada and instructed the recipient to cash the check and send a portion back to the sender for the tax liability.

LOST AND FOUND

Sept. 11, Palmer Soccer Fields: A car key was turned in to the police.

WARRANT ARREST

Sept. 14: Kevin Clark, 27, Palmer, arrested on two warrants; one for probation violation (bail, $5,000) and one for eluding II (bail, $1,000) with an additional $750 bail for resisting arrest.

Sept. 15, Palmer DMV: Jason Daniel Davis, 26, Anchorage, arrested on a warrant for FTA (failure to appear), original charge of DWLS (suspended). Bail, $500.

Sept. 15: Dean Everett Barlip, 28, Copper Center, arrested on a warrant for FTA. Bail, $1,000.

MCA

Sept. 14: Efim Ivanov, 18, Palmer, summonsed for alleged MCA (minor consuming alcohol).

MVC

Sept. 12, Evergreen Ave. at Bailey St.:  Timothy Metcalf, 26, Palmer, and Jared Birky, 23, Wasilla, were involved in a collision. Total damage, $10,000. No injuries.

ASSAULT

Sept. 16: A 33-year-old Palmer man was arrested on a charge of degree domestic violence assault IV. No bail. 

Sept. 17: A male was arrest for domestic violence assault IV and resisting arrest after allegedly assaulting a female. No bail.

DUI

Sept. 17: Kenneth Stark, 28, Palmer stopped for speeding. Charge: DUI (driving under the influence). Bail, $1,000.

Sept. 18: Diane M. Berg, 45, Wasilla, stopped for an equipment violation. Charge: DUI. Bail, $1,500.

Sept. 20: Christian M. Calcote, 37, Palmer, pulled over for several traffic violations. Charge: DUI. Bail, $5,000. 

RECKLESS DRIVING

Sept. 14, Palmer-Wasilla Hwy.: Delano Darold Wier II, 36, Palmer, contacted after multiple reports of driving recklessly. Summonsed for reckless driving; cited for expired registration. 

Sept. 14, Palmer Sk8 Park parking lot: A 17-year-old Palmer boy contacted for driving recklessly. Summonsed for reckless driving and reckless endangerment; cited for insurance requirements.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS

Sept. 17, Fred Meyer: Ryan L. Arnett, 30, Palmer, arrested for criminal trespass II. Bail, $250.

THEFT

Sept, 18, Palmer Junior-Middle School: A student allegedly stole a cell phone and a MP3 player from another student’s locker.

WASILLA POLICE DEPARTMENT

DWOL

Sept. 18, 12:59 a.m.: John Burk, 24, Houston, was stopped for crossing the yellow line and not stopping at a stop sign. Summons: DWOL (driving without a license).

Sept. 19, 2:01 a.m.: Stefan Whitis, 35, Houston was stopped for not using a turn signal. Summons: DWOL. 

VANDALISM

Sept. 18: A 26-year-old female reported three family vehicles had the tires slashed. Damage, $800.

LOST AND FOUND

Sept. 18, Main St. and Swanson Ave.: A Wasilla woman turned in a battery charger that she had found at the intersection. She said the charger fell out of the back of a white Ford work truck.

THEFT

Sept. 18: A 39-year-old female reported her .38 caliber Derringer was stolen. 

MVC

Sept. 18, 11:42 p.m., Wal-Mart: Virginia Calvert, 27, Wasilla, collided with a pole in the parking lot.

ALASKA STATE TROOPERS

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

Sept. 19, 9 p.m., Timberland Lane: Delbert W. Sellards, 50, Wasilla, arrested for domestic violence criminal mischief III after allegedly caused a significant damaged to a residence he shared with a family member. No bail.

DUI

Sept. 20, 4:49 a.m., Parks Hwy. and Day Rd.: Kristopher R. Davis, 25, Wasilla, stopped for erratic driving. Charge: DUI. Bail, $5,000.

Sept. 19, 10:16 p.m., Mile 7 Palmer-Fishhook Rd.: Helen L. Thomas, 45, Wasilla, contacted as a REDDI. Charge: DUI. Bail, $2,500.

Sept. 20, 2:28 a.m., Knik-Goose Bay Rd. near Mack Rd.: Richard W. Milliron, 38, Wasilla, stopped for erratic driving. Charges: DUI and DWOL (driving without a license). Bail, $250.

Sept. 21, 5:05 a.m., Wasilla-Fishhook Rd. near Mulchatna Dr.: John G. Blees, 33, Anchorage, stopped for a moving violation. Blees was allegedly DUI and refused to provide a breath sample for a Datamaster test. Bail, $1,000.

Sept. 21, 5:41 a.m., Palmer-Wasilla Hwy. and Roberts Dr.: Troopers attempted to stop a vehicle for a moving violation. The vehicle failed to yield and led troopers on a pursuit that ended near Mile 25.7 of the Glenn Highway at Eklutna. Passenger Leon R. Stephan, 47, Anchorage, fled on foot, but was pursued and apprehended. Robert J. Chilligan, 33, Eklutna, the driver, stayed in the vehicle. Chilligan arrested for felony eluding, felony DUI and DWLR. Bail, $15,000. Stephan had allegedly consuming alcohol in violation of his probation conditions. No bail.

Sept. 20, 6:13 p.m., Mile 38.5 Parks Hwy.: Charles R. Johnson, 42, Wasilla, stopped after a REDDI call. Charge: DUI. Bail, $1,000.

DWLCSR / DWOL

Sept. 20, 3:45 a.m., Knik-Goose Bay Rd. and Horizon Dr.: Justin C.B. Abercrombie, 20, Wasilla, stopped for equipment violation. Summons: DWLS (driving while license suspended).

Sept. 21, 9:23 p.m., Palmer-Wasilla Hwy. near Seward Meridian Pkwy.: Derek Franklin Burkett, 18, Palmer, stopped for equipment violation. Summons: DWOL (driving without a license).

Sept. 20, 5:32 p.m., Knik-Goose Bay Rd. and Palmer-Wasilla Hwy.: Marriah L. Taylor, 20,  Wasilla, stopped for tinted windows. Summons: DWLR.

MVC

Sept. 20, 5:52 a.m., Parks Hwy.: Jennifer Bozine, 21, Wasilla, was southbound when she struck a moose that ran into the road. The moose was struck with the front of the vehicle, came up and broke out the windshield. Bozine was restrained; transported to Mat-Su Regional for possible injuries.
