Debra Lynn Schools-Pushruk

Debra Lynn Schools-Pushruk, 52, died Sept. 20, 2008 at Providence Extended Care in Anchorage.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Palmer; viewing will begin at 9 a.m. Pallbearers will be Frank Pushruk, Thomas Tiulana, Chris Toliver, Brian Walker, Jim Pushruk and Brian Walker Jr.

She was born Dec. 8, 1956 in Baltimore, Md. She lived in Anchorage from 1979 to 1989 and most recently in Palmer. She was a homemaker in addition to being a PCA and nurse.


“Debra was a very good cook and was kind and sweet,” her family wrote. “She will be missed.”

She is survived by husband, Anthony Pushruk, of Palmer; daughter Simone Pushruk of Palmer; mother Virginia Staveckas of Glen Burnie, Md.; brother Mark Schools of Savannah, Ga.; and sisters Jan Schools of Georgia and Patricia Schools of Maryland. She was preceded in death by her father Edward Schools.

 Valley Funeral Homes and Crematory of Palmer and  Wasilla is assisting the family.
