Vadney Carl Bledsoe, 67, died Oct. 7, 2008 at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in Palmer. A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct.11 at the Wasilla First Presbyterian Church, 1375 E. Bogard Road in Wasilla. Pastor Stan Tucker of Pilgrims Baptist Church will officiate.

Bledsoe was born Sept. 12, 1941 in Warrensburg, Mo., and he came to Alaska in 1951, staying until 1961, and then coming back in 1989. He resided in Wasilla until his death. He most recently worked for Matanuska Electric Association.

He is survived by two daughters: Jennifer Bledsoe of Eden Prairie, Minn., and Meredith Bledsoe of Wasilla; mother Lottie Poisal of Wasilla; and two sisters: Susan Jones and her family of Wasilla, and Verdine McNeely and her family.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria; father Robert and stepfather Clyde Poisal.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alaska Republican Party “ARP Bledsoe Fund” 1001 W. Fireweed Lane, Anchorage, AK 99503.

Valley Funeral Homes & Crematory of Wasilla & Palmer assisted the family.
