It's all over, what do you think?

Now that the presidential election is over, the country has returned to its normal day-to-day without the buzz of campaigning in its ears.

Democrat Barack Obama is the 44th president of the United States, beating out Republican John McCain for the job.

What do you think? What was your impression of this year's election season?

Actually, we are in our early 40's and thus far, it doesn't look like retirement is going to kill us. Unless we get run over on our early morning runs and bike rides.

    Enjoy Thanksgiving (everyone)! "

but, i applaud you for becoming recession proof, you are one huge step above most of the U.S. most people have poor planning, leave their investments completely up to investment brokers, and assume they're on their side.
as for retirement, i don't have time for that, and like all my fathers friends, when they retired, shortly thereafter they died, and i'm not looking forward to that, so, i'll keep busy. "

Actually, we made such wise investments my spouse and I were able to retire early and very comfortably. Fortunately, we made ourselves recession-proof; life is good.

And we've done all this, JP, without being predatory.

We know the economy. Bush has lent a heavy hand in making it the way it is now. He took a phenomenally strong economy with unlimited potential and ran it into the ground.

I hope that during the course of her few months away as we citizens were still paying over $4.00 a gallon and getting ready for an increase in Enstar rates, she noticed how much cheaper gas was in the lower 48 as she drove and flew around the U.S. and will quickly begin her first steps our towards "energy independence." God Bless and good luck Sarah!! "

" Thank you, Alaska. Your Governor is outstanding leader. Her position and deep understanding of the culture of life
makes her more intelligent, with a greater discernment on what is really important in the life of this country, than the 3 men running for national office. She is a Margaret Thatcher on conservative issues and on the life of the unborn she is Queen Esther. If John McCain does not come forth to defend her in 24-36 hours, he is done. Thank you again, Alaska, for giving us Sarah. "

    " Dear Alaskans,
What a beautiful state filled with beautiful people you have, but Sarah Palin? She seems nice enough but a heartbeat away from the most powerful political position in the world? Surely you can't be serious. Get some more national exposure, get informed on national and international issues and maybe give it another try in the future. This time, you had too many flubs to overlook. Please don't let your desires cloud your judgement. That's all. Good luck. "

" Common sense!!! I for one am ashamed to say I'm from Wasilla. How could Sarah not even name one of the 3 countries in NAFTA, when one is the U.S., the other her neighbor Canada, and Mexico, What did she learn in all those colleges she went to? She didn't even know that Africa was a continent, not a country, where has this woman been. No wonder she couldn't tell Katie Couric what she read, she obviously doesn't. No way will I make the mistake of voting for this uneducated woman again. She's pathetic, and it's sad "

beauty of the people in Alaska. The media did an interview with Sarah's friends and they were just down to earth people that you could meet in any small town in America. They had a pure heart and love of our nation.
I hope you let us have Sarah in 2012 or
2016 to run for President. "

Sarah most represents me unlike any other politician. Social conservative, fiscal conservative, common sense, an ordinary every day person who lives in the real world like me. I was fortunate to visit Wasilla last month while in Alaska - love it!. You all have much to be proud of! Sarah 2012! "

Except for those fake Republicans, we have some say about extremist liberal legislation in the Senate. Without 60 votes Yes to reach Cloture, there can be no vote on the Legislation, i.e., Senate Rule.

The House has had a majority for 2 years. Accomplished: not much. Ratings: less than 10% approvals.

One thing I'd like to know from Sarah's father: WHERE IS THIS GOLD HE PROSPECTS FOR? "

    1. It would show that she recognizes the will of the people and that she is a true maverick.
    2. If she would appoint the former Democratic governor, then he can't run against her, giving her more of a chance to get more experience as Alaska's governor.
    3. It would stick it to all those Republicans talking trash about her. "
