A visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Witzleben Funeral Home on Bragaw Road in Anchorage. A celebration of life will be held Nov. 22 at Gospel Outreach on the Palmer-Wasilla Highway in Wasilla.
Dan was born Jan. 6, 1962 to John and Dorothy Kopy and Long Island, N.Y. As a child, Dan kept his mom busy with his adventurous spirit. At 4, he decided to go shopping for his family at the local grocery store. A neighbor say him there loading up a cart and asked where his mom was. He replied, “Oh, she’s at home.”

In his own words, Dan “was not perfect in setting and sailing the course of his own early life, but his heart was in the right place for the most part. His trials and tribulations were not too much for him to bear, and he had a hunger for spiritual knowledge.”
Dan is survived by his children and their families, Dan and Fawn Kopy, Wasilla; Rachel Kopy and Joe Morgan Baker, Navarre, Fla.; Tamara and Phil Ferris, Kodiak; Lynda Kopy, Wasilla; Carolyn and Tommy Null, Tacoma, Wash.; brother, Stephen Kopy, Anchorage; and sisters Susan Krueger, Wasilla; and Hella David of Anchorage. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Kylie and Madison Kopy, Orion Ballway, Brayton and Kylee Marsing; Morgan Baker; Phil and Edna Ferris; Chistopher Null and Lillian Cross; ex-wife, Linda Walton; father, John Kopy, and many nieces and nephews.
Dan was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Kopy.
Arrangements are with Witzleben Funeral Home on Bragaw Road in Anchorage.
