SOLDOTNA — The Palmer Moose finished fifth in the Skyview Invitational at Skyview High School on Friday.

A trio of Moose each won their weight class to help Palmer finish with 119 points.

Nick Stahler, Sam Heindel and Ransome Kelley each won in the finals for palmer. Stahler edged Homer’s Ben Daigle 1-0 in the 140-pound final.

Heindel pinned Ketchikan’s John Smith in the third period at 171 pounds.

Ransome Kelley earned an 11-5 win over Soldotna’s Dakota Bailey-Elsey at 189 pounds.

The Colony junior varsity finished seventh in the event with 106 points.

Warren Meilke finished first at 103 pounds for the Knights, and Colony’s Colton Foster also reached the finals and finished second.

Host Skyview edged crosstown rival Soldotna by just a half-point to win the team title. Three of the top five teams in the tourney finished within three total points.

Ketchikan was third at 122, Kenai finished fourth at 121.5 and Palmer was fifth with 119.
