Ashamed of Republicans I just finished reading the story about Waverli Rainey. I had no idea what the story was behind the story so I looked it up on your website. I guess you must still be getting numerous “hits” because it took me a full 45 minutes to access the original article and forward it on. I was born in this state and over the years I have voted for presidential candidates from both major parties. I have never been as ashamed of the people of this state that call themselves Republicans as I am today. I am also ashamed of the children they have raised and the teachers and anyone else in authority, including the governor for the way they have behaved over the course of the last few months leading up to the election. I, too, am a proud supporter of Barack Obama and what he stands for and I wish him great success in fixing the mess that the Republicans have gotten our great nation into. If this letter manages to get published, I don’t want to hear from the ones who say that Bill Clinton is responsible because he deregulated banks. The problem does not lie with deregulation it lies with the character and lack of integrity of the banks and lenders. I salute you, Waverli Rainey. I wish there were more young people in this state like you. Kathy Pearson Wasilla
