GOP was bound to lose

Published on Monday, December 1, 2008 8:31 PM AKST

I’m sick of people bashing Sarah Palin, especially for McCain’s loss in this past election.

If anything, she helped his campaign. It is what it is. Bush ruined it for the Republicans.

A republican wouldn’t have won no matter who was running. The people thought it was time for a change, and they went with the Democratic vote.

I admire Palin for her strength, courage and integrity. Welcome home, Governor Palin.

" The GOP's cascading, devastating losses are aptly explained through Colin Powell's assertion that Palin polarized the party, and that Republicans no longer reflect America.

Check out Powell's CNN interview. Republicans need to listen carefully to what he's saying--like it or not--he's spot on.

Bottom line...Republicans can keep losing elections, or change.

One change gaining momentum is splitting the party between the radical extreme, Limbaugh-loving, right-wing Fundamentalists (Palin) and the old-school Conservatives (McCain).

I really think that's the only way we Conservatives can redeem ourselves. We must filter out the radicals before they destroy us. "

Well your name here certainly seems to describe you well.

I will pray for you that the lies you tell don't continue to compel you to accuse honest people of being liars; that your blemished view of innocent people never results in harm against those you slander; and, that God will expand your intellect while opening your heart.

You sound like an extremely hostile, toxic person. I'm grateful for the natural distance that the world wide web provides, and that you are incapable of compromising my stronger nature and positive view. "

You're a Republican and a Christian, eh? Yeah..I doubt it. And you've 'never seen' any of that behavior? So you missed Obama's speech about the 'clouds parting, the sun shining down and (you) having an epiphany!' ? You missed that? You missed his references to 'healing the world'? So you weren't really watching the campaign then, I take it? And as a Christian..could you kindly point out the part of the Bible to me that makes it OK to kill unborn children? I must have missed that. Sorry, but you didn't lie well! "

I have never seen one Obama supporter do that-- speak of Obama as if he were a Messiah. I have just seen remarks like that from those who are in opposition to Obama, and the man's supporters.

That behavior is thoroughly disgusting and deeply offensive to the sensibilities of true Christians.

By the way, I'm a Republican. And when I continue to see remarks like yours, an embarrassed and ashamed Republican.

    Stop! "

Because Obama (zero military experience, to go along with his zero experience in most everything else) is so wise in the ways of war and can indentify a good soldier? HA! Or is the mere act of Obama saying your name an act of vindication? I suppose he heals the lame and makes the blind to see, too, along with is parting the seas and such! You liberals are so funny! (and logic-less) "

If anyone in DUMB-DUMB's administration had a clue of what was going to happen in Iraq, it was Shinseki. He advocated a wiser strategy for Iraq and genuinely cared about his fellow soldiers. Too bad Bush in his infinite wisdom sided with Cheney and Rumsfeld.

In the long run, however, evil lost; Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and company are GONE and Shinseki is here. OUTSTANDING SELECTION OBAMA! "

" Bush did ruin it for the Republicans, that's true. But the brain-dead plan offered by a shallow messenger (Wink Wink) didn't help the cause.

During the campaign, both George Will and Davis Brooks (highly acclaimed conservative columnists) were criticized their own party for appealing to/and misleading the most ignorant and uneducated in our society. They felt the party's anti-intellectual theme (Joe Six Pack approach) was EMBARRASSING.

Ms Raes - Sarah might have excited Alaskans and some extreme evangelical conservatives, but for the rest of us, she came across as childish and ignorant. "

" You want Palin's realists to stop? Then ANSWER THE DANGED QUESTIONS!

1--Why didn't the Palin's wear their own clothes?

2--Explain Palin's tax returns/per diems/freebies/late filings and lack of transparency.

3--Why didn't Palin rebuke the potentially violent, threatening whackos--like McCain did?

4--What gave her the right to go off message from McCain's campaign--it was HIS AFTER ALL and she was his "invited guest".

BTW, before you shout anti-left rhetoric, understand this, I'm a McCain-loving Republican.

Answer these--you'll probably be left alone from herein. If you don't--get used to blogs. "

What concerns people about Palin is her hypocrisy, her lack of intellectual curiousity, her lying, and her obvious unpreparedness for the job she was seeking. She has about as much intellectual depth as a teaspoon. She gleefully and maliciously spread innuendo and lies about Obama. What kind of a christian example was that? Perhaps Palin needs to look up the 9th commandment. "
