Gun rights on the outs

Had to laugh when I read the “Oval Office” column by Howard Delo, wherein he expounds on the “common sense restrictions” soon to be imposed by our new Fuhrer.

I reckon “common sense” depends on your definition of “common sense.”

I seem to recall that back in the 1700s, the British Crown thought certain acts were common sense and proper. Those “intolerable acts” led to armed revolt against the existing government, the British Crown.

As for the rush to buy guns (nationwide), you are wasting your money. The first thing our new Fuhrer will do is require national registration of all private firearms. You will be required to carry a card for each firearm you own. Get caught without your registration card, you go to jail and your gun is forfeit.

The second act will be to confiscate all handguns and all semi-automatic weapons — rifles, shotguns and, yes, this includes your pet Ruger 10/22.

The third act will be to tax (100 percent) all remaining guns and all ammunition.

The fourth act will outlaw gun shows.

And the fifth act will be to increase the Federal Firearms License fees by 500 percent.

The only reasons for registration are taxation and confiscation. Don’t think it will happen? Wait and see. Mark my words.
