ALASKA STATE TROOPERS

ASSAULT

Dec. 16, 1:30 a.m., Lover’s Ln.: Joshua Rubio, 31, Wasilla, allegedly assaulted a family member. Charge: Assault IV. No bail set.

Dec. 15, 2:21 a.m., Talkeetna: Michael Halla, 26, Talkeetna, allegedly assaulted two adults and a child, sending one adult male to the hospital, then left on a snowmachine. Charges: Assault II, III, IV, and DUI. No bail set.

Dec. 16, 11:19 p.m., Bluegrass Ln.: Aaron Hodges, 35, Wasilla, allegedly assaulted a family member then fled. He was later pulled over on Hemmer Rd. and arrested. Charges: Assault, DUI. No bail set.

FISHING VIOLATION

Dec. 12, Big Lake: Gary L. Witt Jr., 26, Anchorage, cited for fishing with a treble hook.

UNDERAGE DRINKING

Dec. 14, 2:27 a.m., Tesoro station, Mile 4 Knik-Goose Bay Rd.: Troopers found a teenager hyperventilating. The teen was taken to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center and treated, after which she was found to have allegedly consumed alcohol. Summons: Underage drinking.

 

DEATH INVESTIGATIONS

Dec. 15, 3:25 a.m., Werner Dr.: Judy Kendall, 54, Wasilla, found to have died due to illness.

Dec. 15, 8:02 a.m., Dan St.: Jack Cowan, 81, Wasilla, found to have died of natural causes.

Dec. 15, 6:55 p.m., Gail Dr.: Richard Hunter, 71, Wasilla, found to have died of natural causes.

 

DRUG MISCONDUCT

Dec. 17, 10 a.m., Colony Middle School: A student was found in possession of marijuana. Drug misconduct charges were sent to Juvenile Justice.

PALMER POLICE DEPARTMENT

ASSAULT

Dec. 8, A 51-year-old Palmer man was arrested for domestic violence assault.

Dec. 12, Peak Inn: A 33-year-old Palmer man allegedly assaulted his wife then left before police arrived. Assault charges are on their way to the District Attorney’s office.

THEFT

Dec. 8, Oaken Keg was burglarized and $400 in merchandise stolen.

Dec. 10: Two girls, 15 and 13, both of Palmer, were stopped for shoplifting at Fred Meyer. Theft charges are being forwarded to Juvenile Justice.

Dec. 10: A 53-year-old Sutton woman reported her wallet was lost in the Fred Meyer parking lot and her ATM card had been used to withdraw money.

Dec. 10: Two 17-year-old boys were stopped for shoplifting at Fred Meyer. Theft charges are on their way to Juvenile Intake.

Dec. 12: A 69-year-old Palmer woman reported a fraudulent wire transfer from her bank account.

Dec. 13: Matthew James Gadola, 19, Palmer, allegedly left Fred Meyer without paying for $149.99 in merchandise. Summons: Theft.

MVC

Dec. 9, Robert E. Nettleton, 39, Palmer, driving a 1998 Ford Ranger collided with Timothy J. Layton, 43, Palmer, who was driving a 1996 Honda Accord. No injuries.

Dec. 10, Arctic Ave. and Glenn Hwy.: Shaun Poirot, 29, Palmer, and Gregory Giauque, 37, Palmer, were in a wreck. No injuries. Giauque allegedly left without providing information to Poirot or reporting the incident.

Dec. 11, Palmer-Wasilla Hwy. near Irwin Lp.: A 16-year-old Palmer driver attempted to avoid hitting another car and ended up hitting a guardrail.

Dec. 13, Glenn Hwy. and W. Arctic Ave.: A 1996 Subaru driven by Joseph B. Mayr, 83, Palmer, hit a 1999 Saturn driven by Jamison K. Rothwell, 24, Sutton.

HARASSMENT

Dec. 10, Police responding to a disturbance decided to charge a Palmer man with domestic violence harassment.

WARRANTS

Dec. 11, Evan James Lovett, 18, Palmer, arrested on $500 warrant for failure to appear in court on reckless endangerment and reckless driving charges. New summons: Underage drinking.

Dec. 13, Mark R. Wellman, 26, Palmer, turned himself in on a $2,500 warrant for failure to appear in court on DWLC and failure to stop for a police officer charges.

DOG BITE

Dec. 11, A 64-year-old Palmer woman reported she’d been bitten by a stray dog in her neighborhood.

RECKLESS DRIVING

Dec. 12, Evergreen Ave. near S. Cobb St.: Jeremiah O. West. 26, Palmer, arrested when officers allegedly saw him driving recklessly. Charge: Reckless driving. Bail: $1,000.

DUI

Dec. 13, Sheri Josephine Pete, 33, Anchorage, was stopped after officers spotted her making a wide turn and driving down the centerline of the road with four passengers including two children in the car. Charges: DUI, child endangerment, DWLS, open container, and failure to stay on the right side of the road. Bail: $500.

DWLS

Dec. 14: Michelle K. Nielsen, 42, Palmer, stopped for a traffic violation. Summons: DWLS.
