Get a clue about Palin mania

Published on Saturday, January 3, 2009 10:15 PM AKST

I have had my fill of news about the Palin family, especially those about our governor, to the point of ad nauseam.

It would be one thing to hear of some of the good things that our governor has done for the state of Alaska, but apparently there is very little to report on those matters. I’m not saying the governor is solely to blame for all of the Palin banter that is constantly being printed. I guess my question is why are so many people mesmerized by someone who has not done a great deal for our state as governor?

I’ve also had my fill of people from the Lower 48 making such a big deal out of someone they know very little about. Someone brings up the fact that she broke the law while seated as governor and the person is berated for badmouthing such a “perfectly dear person.”

Get a clue, for crying out loud. Now someone has taken the steps (no doubt at Governor Palin’s pleasure) to make a 2009 calendar of her and her family. Thinking I could get away from all of this, I decided to hop onto the Internet and see what news was on the front page of Yahoo. However, there on the front page, was a big picture of Governor Palin’s daughter and her daughter’s boyfriend touting the birth of their new baby son.

Who cares? Please excuse me. I’ve got to go take some Pepto.

Actually, dave, I have an unabridged dictionary that weighs more than my wife. I was pulling from the most accessible tool I had to make a cogent point: that Fagan's definition for 'trip' was a customary one and hardly newsworthy. Interesting that you missed such an obvious point.
