Lorraine Delores Sonnaband

Lorraine Delores Sonnaband, 75, of Palmer passed away at Mat-Su Regional Hospital from a heart attack on Feb. 3.

She was born Feb. 17, 1933, in Portland, Ore.

Lorraine moved to Alaska in 1955. She lived in Seward, Whittier, Eagle River and Anchorage, but finally settled in Wasilla where she became a parishioner of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Upon retiring from the Postal Service, she enjoyed crocheting, ceramics, reading and making handmade crafts.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband Harold L. Sonnaband; seven siblings and several loving friends.

Lorraine is survived by her daughters Danell Sonnaband, Debbie Sonnaband, Nancy Campbell and Kathy Byrnes, all of Wasilla; two brothers; two sisters; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Big Lake.

Her remains will be scattered at the Seward Waterfall at a later date.

Arrangements were entrusted to Valley Funeral Home.
