“She’s my mom, and she loved to fish.”
Bettye hated it when those with her caught more fish than she did. There was the time she once threatened to throw her oldest into the water when he out fished her.
She was just a wonderful lady. She wasn’t afraid to speak her mind. When Bettye married Theron, she became Mom to all of his children. “Mom was just wonderful” was a sentiment often repeated.
Bettye is survived by her husband, Theron Bond of Wasilla; son, Charles Wycoff (Dorothy) of Jeffersonville, Ind.; daughter, Jean Jackson (John) of Austin, Ind.; daughter, Karen Moore (James) of Glendale, Ky.; daughter, Melody Perkins (Robert) of Underwood, Ind.; daughter, Linda Barrett of Lexington, Ind.; daughter, Julie Bond of Big Lake; son, Christopher Bond of Sekiu, Wash.; son Kenneth Bond of Bellingham, Wash.; daughter, Christie Fontaine (Mark) of Wasilla, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister Elizabeth, son, Frank and both of her parents.
