DUI

Mar. 29, 2:30 p.m., Parks Hwy. at Hidden Hills Rd.: Thomas Carroll Donnell, 41, Anchorage, driving a Ford F-250 pickup pulling two snowmachines, allegedly ran a stop sign and was hit on the highway by a 2001 Chevrolet Tracker driven by Nancy Moss, 53, Willow. Moss hospitalized with serious injuries that were not life-threatening. Donnell jailed for DUI and assault. Bail: $3,000.

Mar. 30, 9:02 p.m., Shady Grove Ln.: Sheila A. Klima, 48, Wasilla, contacted at home on a complaint she’d driven her truck from a local bar. Her ex-husband, Robert Klima, 44, allegedly drove his ATV home. Both were arrested for DUI. Bail for each: $500.

Mar. 30, 6:40 a.m., Fairview Lp. near Edlund Rd.: Catherine Francis, eastbound driving her 2006 Subaru Forester, sideswiped Nance A. Evans, 47, Wasilla, who was westbound driving her 2004 Volkswagen sedan. Evans reported minor injuries. Francis was unhurt and was cited for using an out of state license more than 90 days after moving to Alaska.

Mar. 30, 8:28 a.m., Bogard Rd. and Seward-Meridian Pkwy: Trisha M. Ramos-Nugent, 27, Wasilla, northbound driving a 2006 Subaru Tribeca, tried to make a right turn and hit a 1996 Ford Taurus driven by Janet McQuown, 48, Palmer. Subaru’s damage: $2,000. Ford’s damage: $4,000. Ramos-Nugent cited for speeding.

Mar. 30, 8:47 a.m., Bogard Rd. near Trunk Rd.: Alice Hunt, 24, Palmer, stopped in the road driving her 2007 Chevrolet Impala, was rear-ended by a 1998 GMC Sierra driven by Samantha Murdock, 22, Wasilla, who was unable to stop on the ice. Both drivers hospitalized. Damage to each vehicle: $5,000.

Mar. 30, 10:18 a.m., Schrock Rd. near Bald Eagle Dr.: Rozann Kimpton, 73, Wasilla, southbound driving her 1997 Oldsmobile Bravada, lost control on the ice and rolled. Kimpton and a child who was her passenger were hospitalized. The Oldsmobile was totaled. Kimpton cited for speeding.

Mar. 30, 7:12 a.m., 49th State St. near Colony School: A 16-year-old Palmer girl, northbound driving a 1991 Ford pickup, was unable to stop for a 1995 Chevrolet Suburban being driven by a 17-year-old Palmer girl. The Suburban was pushed into the back of a 2006 Ford Escape being driven by Amalia Try, 40, Palmer. Damage to the pickup: $3,000. Damage to the Suburban: $3,000. The Escape was not visibly damaged. No injuries. The 16-year-old was cited for not exercising due care.

Mar. 20, 8:47 a.m., Bogard Rd. and Trunk Rd.: Billie Dodd, 62, Wasilla, driving a MASCOT bus, slid into the back of a 2005 Ford Explorer driven by Katherine Anderson, 32, Wasilla. Damage to the Explorer: $2,000. Damage to the bus: $300. Anderson had minor injuries. No one else was hurt.

Mar. 30, 12:17 a.m., Mile 4 Knik-Goose Bay Rd.: Shawn M.R. Surls, 21, Wasilla, stopped for an equipment violation, was arrested for DWLR.

Mar. 31, 11:12 a.m., Parks Hwy. and Hermon Rd.: Charles F. Cox, 21, Wasilla, stopped for a traffic violation. Summons: DWLS.

VANDALISM

Mar. 30, 9:33 a.m., Jabez Ln.: Someone entered a home and broke all the windows from the inside out. Damage: $1,400.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Mar. 30, 9:59 a.m., Angus Ln.: Heather Moser, 40, Willow, contacted at a disturbance, raised her fist and challenged an investigating trooper to a fight. Charge: Disorderly conduct. Moser jailed until released to a family member.

THEFT

Mar. 30, Arctic Wy.: The Matanuska Assembly of God church was burglarized March 29 and an undisclosed amount of money stolen.

Mar. 31, 1:36 p.m., E. Fattic Dr.: An estimated $4,700 in jewelry was stolen at about 4:45 p.m. March 30.

PROMOTING

CONTRABAND

Mar. 30, 6:35 p.m., Palmer Correctional Center: Cynthia L. Steinbacker, 48, Anchorage, allegedly brought marijuana and cigarettes to give to an inmate. Charges: Promoting contraband, drug misconduct. Bail: $1,000.

WARRANT

Mar. 31, 1:23 a.m., Vine Rd. and Knik-Goose Bay Rd.: Jordon Olmsted, 26, Wasilla, arrested at a traffic stop on a no-bail warrant for drug misconduct, forgery, theft and criminal mischief.

Mar. 30, Pioneer Lodge: Troopers running a security check arrested Jacob T. Still, 26, Willow, on a warrant for failure to appear in court on DUI, DWLS, resisting arrest and eluding arrest charge. Bail: $500.

WASILLA POLICE DEPARTMENT

MVC

Mar. 27, 8:30 a.m., Parks Hwy. near the Westside Center: Stacey Michael, 36, Wasilla, pulled onto the highway driving a 2001 Kia and was hit by a westbound 1994 Ford Explorer being driven by Melissa Vitek, 32, Willow. No injuries. Damage to both vehicles moderate. Michael cited for not yielding.

Mar. 27, 9:40 p.m., Seward-Meridian Pkwy. and Parks Hwy.: Carrie Land, 19, Anchorage, looked down at her cell phone and rear-ended a vehicle driven by Mark Roberts, 49, Wasilla. No injuries.

Mar. 29, 1:55 a.m., Bogard Rd. and Armor Ct.: David Loyd, 21, Big Lake, was eastbound when he hit a moose. Loyd unhurt. Vehicle totaled.

Mar. 31, 12:46 p.m., Palmer-Wasilla Hwy. near Nazarene Church: Rose Hawk, 18, Wasilla, allegedly failed to stop and rear-ended a car driven by Barbara Mistler, 54, Wasilla.

Mar. 31, 4:57 p.m.: A 33-year-old Wasilla woman reported a vehicle with the license plate CRK126 rear-ended her vehicle then left the scene. Damage was minor.

Mar. 31, 9:15 p.m., Knik-Goose Bay Rd. near Edlund Rd.: Robert Christine Jr., 52, Wasilla, southbound, possibly fell asleep and hit a tree. No injuries.

THEFT

Mar. 27, 11:38 a.m., Bruce’s Street’n’Skate: A suspect allegedly stole two hooded sweatshirts and a pair of shoes then fled in a black Ford pickup. Loss: $186.

Mar. 30, 8:46 a.m.: The Salvation Army was burglarized. While investigating, police noticed the Allen and Petersen’s building had been as well. Cash was stolen.

Mar. 30, 11:03 a.m.: A 33-year-old Seward woman reported her cell phone stolen while she worked at the Outdoorsman Show at the Curtis D. Menard Memorial Sports Complex.

VANDALISM

Mar. 27, 9 p.m., 419 W. Parks Hwy.: The driver’s side window was broken from a vehicle but nothing was stolen from inside.

Mar. 31, 7:47 a.m.: Spray paint was found on a city building.

Mar. 31, 8:39 a.m.: Spray paint was found on a local business and on various vehicles.
