May 2, 7:56 p.m., Talkeetna Senior Village: Gerald Hamilton, 79, Talkeetna, died after heart and kidney failure, several recent strokes and pneumonia.

ASSAULT
May 2, 6:47 a.m., Brennas Wy.: Jeffrey R. Christiansen, 38, Wasilla, allegedly assaulted a family member, broke the window from a vehicle and drove drunk. Damage: $200. Charges: Assault, DUI, criminal mischief. No bail set.
May 2, 4:42 a.m., Tweed Ct.: William R. Kelly, 22, Wasilla, allegedly assaulted a family member and fled. Wasilla Police found him that afternoon. Charge: Assault. No bail set.
May 3, 4:38 a.m., Black Bear Dr.: Beth R. Madden, 22, Wasilla, allegedly assaulted a family member and did $100 damage to a vehicle. Charges: Assault, criminal mischief. Bail: $100.

ACCIDENTS
May 2, 1:55 p.m., Three Bears parking lot: Deborah Weir, 47, Palmer, was rear-ended in the lot while she was in the store. A witness reported the suspect car was small and green. Damage: $1,500.
May 3, 1:09 p.m., Bogard Rd. and Greentree Rd.: Shane Linse, 31, Wasilla, eastbound driving a 2004 Dodge pickup when he allegedly failed to stop for a 2006 Ford Expedition that was turning left, driven by Jennifer Smith-Morris, 38, Palmer. The two occupants of the Expedition were taken to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center with minor injuries. Damage to Dodge: $5,000. Expedition totaled. Linse cited for not exercising due care.

May 3, Palmer Depot: Jasmine E. McQuown, 19, Anchorage, arrested on $1,000 warrant for failure to appear in court on prostitution charge. She and Dorothy M. Hoople, 18, Palmer, and Jessie L. Ford, 20, Anchorage, were also summonsed for underage drinking.

Apr. 30, W. Arctic Ave. near Palmer High School: A 16-year-old Palmer girl driving a 2007 Ford pickup hit a 1992 Geo Tracker driven by Brian K. Hofmeister, 42, Palmer. No injuries.

Apr. 28, 6:05 p.m., Seward-Meridian Pkwy. near Wal-Mart: Ashley Hansen, 19, Wasilla, was waiting for traffic to pass so she could enter the road, pulled out in front of Roger Frisby, of Wasilla. Hansen cited for not yielding.
May 1, 10:17 a.m., Crusey St. and Parks Hwy.: John Russell, 51, Anchorage, was waiting to turn onto the highway, moving slowly forward, and hit a 14-year-old girl who was crossing the road on her bicycle. Medics treated the girl’s injuries on scene.
May 1, 2:54 p.m., Parks Hwy. west of Church Rd.: A 4-wheeler accident left the driver unconscious. The driver was flown to Anchorage for treatment
May 1, 3:45 p.m., Seward Meridian Pkwy.: James Pistulka, 21, Wasilla, northbound trying to turn into Wal-Mart, said he was waived on by a stopped driver into the path of Shila Sherwood, 20, Wasilla, who went into the ditch. No injuries.
May 2, 12:31 p.m., Parks Hwy. in front of Target: Kristine Abshire, 62, Wasilla, rear-ended a vehicle driven by Adriel Silverstein, 27, Wasilla. Abshire cited for not exercising due care.
May 3, 8:12 p.m., Church Rd. and Success Dr.: Sandra Hobbs, 46, Wasilla, trying to turn left onto Mission Hillis Ave., was rear-ended by Bill Grossnickle, 58, Wasilla. No injuries. Grossnickle cited for not exercising due care.

May 2, 12:14 a.m.: Police responding to a report of attempted theft recovered a Mongoose bicycle, which they’re storing for safekeeping.
May 2, 1:29 p.m., Sportsman’s Warehouse: A boy stopped for shoplifting will have charges against him sent to juvenile intake.
May 2, 6:30 p.m., Wal-Mart: A girl allegedly shoplifted $49.30 in merchandise. Theft charges will be sent to juvenile intake.
