Homosexuality is a sin To the editor: I purchased my newest copy of the Frontiersman the other day in order to check out the article related to the weight loss program “Trim to Win” hosted by the paper; more specifically to see my beautiful wife in the picture on page A11 and to show others in order that they might be able to at least partially appreciate all of the hard work she has put in over the last couple of months on her exercise routine. Instead, my eye was first drawn to page A10, where a sick individual who, by happenstance, resides in the very community in which I myself make my home. How in the world Howard Bess can possibly lay claim to any such title as “reverend” is far beyond my comprehension; but nevertheless, it is a genuine shame that his ridiculous article, farcical claims and outright lies and blasphemy have been lent credence by my hometown newspaper. In no manner should this individual be given an ear or voice here. In fact, all residents of our community should do their utmost in order that such space never be wasted again, especially in the section reserved for faith. The garbage printed in the top half of page A10 not only does disservice to whatever denomination he claims to represent or to the paper, but to all of us as human beings. A true slap to the face of our Lord and Savior indeed. I for one have had more than enough of “irreverends” and other false men of God trying to make more Christians accept sinful behavior as normal since more people are doing it now. A hundred years ago, sin was sin and this type of trash would earn you a quick demise, and rightfully so. Time does not lessen sin; it only dilutes it in the minds of men in order to pull us all ever further away from the Lord. And as if the world dragging us down wasn’t bad enough, now we must contend with “men of faith” who are attempting to do the very same? Resist the temptations of this world, O men of the faith; be ye not distracted by the words of the devil. Homosexuality is clearly defined as sin in the Bible; and no man on earth can change that fact. Jesse Smith Palmer
