THEFT

May 19, 2:44 p.m., Knik-Goose Bay Rd.: A business owner reported that $7,000 in merchandise had been stolen in a burglary.

May 19, 3:22 p.m., Mat-Su Family Restaurant: A 32-year-old Wasilla man reported his blue, 21-speed Trek mountain bike with a black seat cover and numbers starting with 69 painted on the frame had been stolen during the five minutes he left it in front of the restaurant. Loss: $300.

May 21, 5:17 p.m., Snow Hill Ave.: A 35-year-old Wasilla man reported a red-and-black Honda XR50 motorcycle stolen from his home.

May 22, 3:45 a.m., Parks Hwy. and Palmer-Wasilla Hwy.: Two males stole a bottle of Hennessey, a bottle of Hpnotiq and two cases of Bud Light. Loss: $104.96.

ACCIDENTS

May 19, 9:48 p.m., Evangelo’s Restaurant: A 31-year-old Anchorage man reported his vehicle was backed into in the parking lot. Damage was minor.

May 20, Wal-Mart: Kathryn Wilkinson, Wasilla, and Andrew Hupp, Wasilla, backed into each other in the parking lot.

May 20, 6:04 p.m., Knik-Goose Bay Rd. and S. Endeavor St.: A 17-year-old was northbound when he hit a Ford pickup being driven by Georgette Wees, 41, who was hospitalized. Damage: $5,000. Teen cited for speeding.

May 20, 11 a.m., Holiday gas station: Cynthia Keith, 41, Wasilla, allegedly backed into a vehicle while leaving her parking space.

DWLR

May 21, 5:35 p.m.: George Rinkevage Jr., 45, Wasilla, stopped for not wearing his seatbelt. Charge: DWLR. Citations: No seatbelt, no proof of insurance, child not properly restrained.

DRUIGS

May 18, 8:40 p.m., Parks Hwy. and Big Lake Rd.: Curtis Whaley, 44, Palmer, stopped for a traffic violation. Summons: Marijuana possession.

DUI

May 18, 4:13 p.m., Mile 51 Parks Hwy.: Troopers were unable to stop Marc E. Stelle, 46, Palmer, when he was reported as a potential drunk driver. They later contacted him and arrested him on charges of DUI-drugs. Bail: $500.

May 18, 7:08 p.m., Parks Hwy. and Sylvan Rd.: Geraldine S. Goodnoh, 44, Wasilla, stopped on a complaint from the public. Charge: DUI. Bail: $500.

May 19, 1 a.m., Branding Iron Ln. and Palmer-Wasilla Hwy.: Rosetta C. Clement, 31, Wasilla, stopped for a moving violation. Charges: DUI, DWLR. Bail: $5,000.

May 20, 11:05 a.m., Bogard Rd. and Crusey St.: Roger Harvey, 21, stopped on a complaint from the public. Based on witness reports, passenger Shane Madsen, 27, Wasilla, was arrested for felony DUI-drugs and heroin possession. Hershey was jailed for DWLR and on a warrant for a probation violation. Passenger Brent Hershey, 24, Wasilla, was jailed for a probation violation without bail.

May 19, 12:58 a.m., Seward-Meridian Pkwy. near Birch View Rd.: Roy D. Kimbro, 40, Wasilla, summonsed for DWLS.

May 19, 8:31 p.m., Mile 90 Parks Hwy.: Harding Atwater, 70, Willow, stopped for multiple traffic violations. Summons: DWLC.

May 20, 6:13 a.m., Wasilla: Joe Kenneth Holden, 42, Wasilla, stopped for an equipment violation. Summons: DWLS.

May 20, 4:10 p.m., Knik-Goose Bay rd. and Vine Rd.: Den M. Delaney, 19, Wasilla, contacted as the driver of an inoperable vehicle. Summons: DWLS.

ACCIDENTS

May 19, 12:35 a.m., Talkeetna Spur Rd.: Leroy Scott, 60, Talkeetna, southbound driving a 2007 GMC Safari van, slowed to make a left into a driveway, allegedly without using a turn signal. A 1998 Dodge van driven by Michael Earl, 66, Anchorage, tried to pass him and was hit. Damage to GMC: $3,000. Damage to Dodge: $500. Scott cited for not exercising due care.

May 19, 3:59 p.m., Mile 86 Glenn Hwy.: Eric Maxwell, 40, Copper Center, northbound on a 2007 Victory motorcycle, hit some loose gravel and lost control, brushing up against a guardrail and breaking his leg. He was hospitalized.

VANDALISM

May 19, 9:17 a.m., McKechnie Lp.: A 30-year-old Palmer man reported a 2008 GMC Sierra had its windows and mirror smashed while it was parked sometime between 8:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. the night before. Damage; $400.

WILDLIFE VIOLATIONS

May 14, Point MacKenzie: Michael Douglas Lagg, 39, Palmer, cited for improperly placing black bear bait stations less than a mile from several cabins on the east bank of Lost Lake.

May 18, 9:30 p.m., Fish Creek upstream from the Lewis Road Bridge: Joseph A. Brost, 31, Wasilla, cited for fishing in closed waters.

May 19: Steven P. Hughes, 40, Wasilla, cited for not returning a harvest report for his 2008 Chitina personal use permit.

INSTRUCTIONAL PERMIT VIOLATION

May 19, 7:46 p.m., Palmer-Wasilla Hwy. near 49th State St.: Alexandra E. Whitsett, 19, Anchorage, stopped for a traffic violation. Summons: Driving on an instructional permit. 

WARRANTS

May 20, 12:10 a.m., Parks Hwy. near Pittman Rd.: A Fairbanks 17-year-old was arrested on an outstanding warrant for a probation violation.

May 20, 7:05 p.m., Williwaw Wy. and Bogard Rd.: Glen Lukas, 22, Wasilla, arrested at a traffic stop on a warrant for failure to appear in court on DWLS charge. Bail: $1,000.
