PALMER POLICE DEPARTMENT

THEFT

June 15: A 26-year-old Anchorage resident reported items stolen from her Palmer storage unit.

June 16: Police were notified of a purple mountain bike stolen from a residence.

June 18: John L. Dekittie, 40, Palmer, arrested for shoplifting. Bail: $2,500.

June 18: A 50-year-old Palmer woman reported a 1987 Ford pickup stolen from downtown. The pickup was recovered at Matanuska River Park.

June 20, Arctic Ave.: Police received report of $40.95 in fuel stolen from the Tesoro station.

VIOLATING RELEASE CONDITIONS

June 15: Matthew A. Robinette, 23, Palmer, issued a summons for violating the conditions of his release.

WARRANTS

June 16: Christopher F. McCann, 26, Fairbanks, arrested on $1,000 warrant for false information. New charges: Criminal mischief, attempted criminal mischief. Bail: $2,000.

June 18: David A. Beaty Jr., 30, Houston, arrested on $750 warrant for failure to appear in court on a no insurance charge.

June 18: Lester L. Gross, 33, Sutton, arrested on $2,500 warrant for failure to appear in court on a burglary charge.

DWLS

June 16: Kenneth William Rawson, 47, Houston, stopped for an equipment violation. Charge: DWLS.

June 18: Tamra L. Firth, 31, Palmer, was issued a summons for DWLR.

DAMAGED PROPERTY

June 17: A 65-year-old Palmer man reported $1,000 damage had been done to his property by a motor vehicle.

RESTRAINING ORDER VIOLATION

June 17: A 51-year-old Wasilla man was charged with violating a domestic violence restraining order.

ASSAULT

June 19: A 19-year-old Palmer man was arrested for two counts of domestic violence assault.

ACCIDENT

June 20, Glenn Hwy. and Moore Rd.: Kaz Alvarez, 19, Wasilla, pulled out in front of Ron Eads, 37, Eagle River. Alvarez hospitalized. Eads unhurt. Alvarez cited for not yielding. Damage to both vehicles; $15,000.

BURGLARY

June 20: A 36-year-old Big Lake man reported the Palmer Dairy Queen had been burglarized overnight.

ACCIDENTS

June 19, 4:51 p.m., Palmer-Wasilla Hwy. near Fred Meyer: Crystal Ahlers, 22, Wasilla, allegedly failed to yield, prompting a crash with Jennifer Adams, 29, Wasilla. Ahlers cited for failing to exercise due care.

WARRANTS

June 19, 10:51 p.m., Carrs: Troy Piper, 22, Palmer, allegedly shoplifted $7.99 in merchandise but the store chose not to charge him criminally. Instead he was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear in court on DWLS charge. Bail: $200.

June 20, N. Lucus Rd.: Peter Natekin, 33, Wasilla, arrested at a disturbance on warrant for failure to appear on charges of assault and interfering with a domestic violence report. Bail: $250.

June 22, 12:45 p.m., Fred Meyer: Jessica Russell, 27, Palmer, was allegedly caught shoplifting $281.92 in merchandise. She was arrested on a $500 warrant for DWLS.

DUI

June 20, 1:49 a.m., Wasilla-Fishhook Rd. and Herning Ave.: Scott Gray, stopped for running a stop sign. Charge: DUI. Bail: $2,500.

June 20, 7:43 p.m., Carrs parking lot: James Herndon, 51, Wasilla, arrested for DUI. Bail: $500.

DWLSCR

June 20, 7:37 p.m.: Miguel Gonalez, 31, Wasilla, stopped for an equipment violation. Summons: DWLR.

June 21, 8:33 p.m., Houston: A Wasilla officer working with the Multi-Jurisdictional Task Force stopped Joseph Gabryszak, 26, Anchorage, for an equipment violation. Summon: DWLS.

June 21, 10:43 p.m.: Joyce Zumwalt, 21, Anchorage, stopped on a complaint from the public. Summons: DWLR.

REGISTRATION VIOLATION

June 21, 1:22 a.m.: Guy Hamilton, 46, Wasilla, allegedly admitted the registration tag on his rear license plate was stolen. Summons: Improper use of registration.

DRUG MISCONDUCT

June 21, 2:37 a.m.: Roy Kimbro, 40, Wasilla, allegedly found in possession of a controlled substance. Charge: Drug misconduct. Bail: $1,500.

THEFT

June 21: Police received report of a vehicle stolen from a home on N. Jack Nicklaus Dr.

June 23, W. Swanson Ave.: Burglars using a pry bar broke into The European Deli and a $200 cash register with $100 in change inside was stolen. Damage: $1,000.

June 23, 10:14 a.m., Parks Hwy.: A 43-year-old Kentucky man reported that his rental car parked at the Alaska View Motel was broken into over night and a backpack containing his DVD Player, DVDs and a checkbook was stolen.

June 23, 11 a.m., Parks Hwy.: A 53-year-old Wasilla woman reported someone broke into her car an stole a Taurus handgun and numerous other items. Loss: $500.

June 23, 1:10 p.m.: A 19-year-old Wasilla man reported that sometime in the previous two days his car had been broken into and his skateboard and CD carrier stolen.

June 23, 8:20 p.m., Carrs: A 23-year-old Wasilla woman reported someone stole her wallet. It was later found in the parking lot with $130 cash missing.

LOST PROPERTY

June 21, 3:38 p.m.: Donna Branham, 71, Wasilla, reported her purse and belongings missing.

PERMIT VIOLATION

June 21, 4:10 p.m.: A 17-year-old Wasilla boy was stopped for a moving violation. Summons: Driving in violation of instructional permit.

CONDITIONS

June 23, 10:07 p.m., Wesglenn Cir.: Anthony Kitchen, 21, Houston, arrested for violating the conditions of his release. No bail set.

ASSAULT

June 23, 11:46 p.m., Centurian Pl.: Randolph Anderson, 53, Wasilla, allegedly assaulted a woman. Charge: Assault. No bail set.

June 21, 9:24 p.m., Pittman Rd. near Edenfield Rd.: Levi Henry Olaf Pinnow, 29, Wasilla, stopped after he swerved into the oncoming lane, causing a patrol car to take evasive action. Charge: Reckless driving. Bail: $1,000.

DWLS

June 22, 8:15 a.m., Knik-Goose Bay Rd. and Palmer-Wasilla Hwy.: Megan M. Watkins, 30, Wasilla, stopped for running a stop sign. Her license turned up suspended for not having proof of insurance. Charge: DWLS. Citations: Running a stop sign, no proof of insurance. Bail: $1,000.

NVOL

June 21, 6:49 p.m., Palmer: Amanda Nicole Huffman, 22, Anchorage, stopped for speeding. Summons: NVOL.

THEFT

June 22, 8:57 a.m., W. Whirlpool Cir.: A Garmin GPS had been stolen from a 2007 Dodge pickup sometime that day or the day before. Loss: $200.

June 22, 1:30 p.m., Day Rd.: Sometime between June 19 and June 21 two mountain bikes were stolen from a yard. Loss: $400.
