Teen found in the road faces charges
SUTTON — Troopers say a man they went to check on, who was reportedly unconscious and lying in the road, turned out to have drunkenly crashed his pickup into a power pole.
The call to respond to Wright Way came at 5:52 a.m.
On scene, troopers found the man in the road was Ryan W. Greiling, 19, of Wasilla. They also report that Greiling had been driving his 1976 Dodge pickup “too fast down Anderson Way,” lost control and hit the power pole.
Troopers say Greiling walked away from the wreck to where they later found him. He didn’t report any injuries. There was no damage to the power pole. They estimate damage to the pickup at $500.
Greiling was jailed at the Mat-Su Pre-Trial Facility on charges of drunken driving, underage drinking and minor driving after drinking. Jail records Thursday afternoon showed he’d since bailed out.
