ALASKA STATE TROOPERS

DUI

June 29, 10:02 p.m., Pittman Rd. and Scatters Wy.: William E. Stryken, 38, Wasilla, stopped on a complaint from the public. Charge: DUI. Bail: $500.

June 29, Soapstone Rd. near Glenn Hwy.: While troopers were investigating a motorcycle accident, Ronald Aldrich, 47, Seattle, drove through the scene in a 1988 Ford pickup. Aldrich was arrested for felony DUI and DWLR. Bail: $5,250.

June 30, Mile 4 Knik-Goose Bay Rd.: Troopers stopped a 1994 Ford F-150 in a liquor store parking lot. Troopers allege that Cher Jammes, 42, Big Lake, drove to the store drunk and that Karen M. Cope, 51, Wasilla, tried to drive drunk away from the store. Charges for Cope: Felony DUI, DWLS, driving in violation of a restricted license. Bail: $5,000. Charge for Jammes: DUI. Bail: $2,500.

July 2, 12:26 am., Mile 48 Parks Hwy.: Joseph C. Webb, 32, Wasilla, nearly hit other motorist, then crashed his silver 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt. He allegedly then failed to report the accident. Charges: DUI, refusing a chemical test, reckless driving, failure to report an accident. Bail: $2,500. Damage: $5,000. No injuries.

July 2, 11:03 p.m., Buffalo Mine Rd.: Steven G. Ysais, 37, Palmer, southbound driving a 2004 Audi, left the road and rolled. No injuries. Damage: $8,000. Ysais walked to his house where he was later arrested for DUI. Bail: $5,000.

July 2, 9:04 p.m., N. Snowgoose Rd.: Brian P. Vance, 49, Palmer, arrived on scene of a 911 hang-up and was arrested for DUI. Bail: $1,000.

July 2, 9:15 p.m., Willow Townsite: Mary Mitchell, 54, Willow, stopped for a moving violation. Charges: DUI, resisting arrest. Bail: $1,000.

July 3, 11:21 p.m., Mile 4.5 Old Glenn Hwy.: Benjamin Voorhees, 21, Anchorage, stopped for a moving violation. Charge: DUI. Bail: $500.

July 4, 12:18 a.m., Old Glenn Hwy. and Robin Ln.: Phillip R. Deaton, 43, Palmer, stopped for a moving violation. Charges: DUI, refusing a chemical test, DWLR. Bail: $5,000.

July 4, 1:21 a.m., Caswell Lakes: Troy Martin, 42, Palmer, tried to elude troopers on his ATV, driving down a narrow path with troopers on foot in pursuit. He was caught a half mile later. Charges: DUI, eluding arrest. Bail: $5,000.

July 4, 12:54 p.m., Eklutna Tail Race: Gerald E. Dirks, 38, Anchorage, stopped on a complaint from the public, allegedly was smoking marijuana while driving and had methamphetamines in the vehicle. Charges: DUI, drug misconduct. Passenger Rene Byrum, 33, Anchorage, also arrested. Byrum’s charges: Drug misconduct. Bail: $1,000. Dirks’ charges: DUI, drug misconduct. Bail: $1,500.

July 4, 7:19 p.m., Edgerton Park Rd. and Palmer-Fishhook Rd.: Jeffrey Sullivan, 48, Palmer, stopped for running a stop sign. Charge: DUI. Citation: Running a stop sign. Bail: $500.

July 5, 1:32 a.m., McPherson Ave.: Kevin Payne, 21, Sutton, stopped for a moving violation. Charge: DUI. Bail: $500.

July 5, 6:03 a.m., Parks Hwy. near Big Lake Rd.: Edwin I. Stout, 27, Anchorage, stopped for a traffic violation. Charge: DUI. Bail: $500.

July 7, 12:48 a.m., Mile 49 Parks Hwy.: Jared Doll, 29, Kenai, contacted during a disturbance at a liquor store. Charge: DUI. Bail: $1,000.

WARRANTS

July 2, 11:40 p.m., Holly Lp.: Wayne Hill, 64, Wasilla, arrested on warrant for failure to appear on NVOL charge. Bail: $1,000.

July 3, 11:21 p.m., Mile 4.5 Old Glenn Hwy.: Justin M. Lamborn, 18, Anchorage, arrested at a traffic stop on $250 warrant for failure to satisfy judgment on an underage drinking charge.

July 4, 4:55 p.m., Mile 9 Knik-Goose Bay Rd.: Day Marie Smith, 38, Wasilla, arrested at a traffic stop on a $1,000 warrant for failure to appear on DWLR charge, a $5,000 warrant for failure to comply with probation, and a no-bail warrant for a parole violation.

July 5, 12:15 p.m., Mile 49 Parks Hwy.: Ayshowna Metcalf, 27, Wasilla, and David Shuldham, 37, Wasilla, stopped on a complaint from the public. Shuldham arrested on $10,000 warrant for failure to appear on drug misconduct and theft charges. Metcalf arrested for violating probation and jailed without bail.

THEFT

July 2, 7:25 p.m., Anthony Rd.: A home was entered through an unlocked side door and $4,000 in household items were taken.

July 3, 2:40 p.m., Steve’s Food Boy: Bryan Tomlinson, 21, Wasilla, allegedly shoplifted $8.43 in merchandise. Summons: Theft.

July 5, 11:35 a.m., Knik River Bridge on Old Glenn Hwy.: Sometime between 3 a.m. and 8 a.m. a gray 1994 Suzuki Sidekick with Alaska plates FGK625 was stolen from outside the victim’s tent.

July 7, 6:42 p.m., Arbor Wy.: Between 6 a.m. and 6:15 p.m., a home was entered through a second-story window. A handgun and several CDs were stolen.

ACCIDENTS

June 29, 10 p.m., Soapstone Rd. near Glenn Hwy.: James Aldrich, 51, Palmer, eastbound driving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle, went into the ditch and was injured. He was hospitalized.

June 30, 5:05 a.m., Mile 5 Glenn Hwy.: Joseph Michael Bramante, 27, Palmer, southbound driving a blue 1993 Nissan pickup, hit a moose. Bramante hospitalized with minor injuries. His pickup was totaled.

June 30, 10:18 a.m., Mile 38 Glenn Hwy.: Shane Alan Preskitt-Bailey, 34, Wasilla, northbound driving a 1999 International flatbed tow truck when his front left tire blew out, sending him into the southbound lane where he hit a 2005 Chevrolet Suburban head-on. Preskitt-Bailey, the Suburban’s driver, Valarie Lynn Latta, 39, Palmer, and her two children had minor injuries and were hospitalized. Both vehicles totaled. Glenn Hwy. shut down for 1 hour.

June 30, 9:53 p.m., Lucille St. and Seldon Rd.: Arthur Roberts, 47, Wasilla, southbound driving a 1996 Saturn when a 1991 Subaru station wagon driven by a Wasilla 17-year-old allegedly ran the stop sign and hit him. Both vehicles totaled. Teen cited for running a stop sign and lacking proof of insurance.

July 2, 11:17 a.m., Fairview Lp. and Top of the World Cir.: Jeffery Ferguson, 24, Wasilla, southbound when he drove into the ditch going around a curve and hit a driveway embankment, causing his 1998 Pontiac Grand Am to roll. Ferguson unhurt. Pontiac totaled. Ferguson cited for speeding.

July 2, 7:52 p.m., Mile 71 Parks Hwy.: Eli Graber, 19, Willow, northbound in a Ford Explorer, fell asleep, hit a driveway and rolled. Graber was not hurt. Vehicle totaled.

July 4, 3:15 p.m., Mile 1 Jonesville Mine Rd.: Shiqiponja Delolli, 18, Sutton, driving a 2002 Honda Ranger 350, came to a stop and was rear-ended by a 2008 Can Am Outlander 800 driven by Katherine Tiger, 18, Anchorage. Both drivers and one passenger reported injuries. Both drivers cited for driving ATVs on the road. Total damage; $800.

July 4, 11:07 a.m., Mile 3.6 Lakes Blvd: Lenora G. Paramore, 58, Wasilla, southbound driving her 2003 Honda van when she hit a moose. Paramore’s granddaughter had pain in her collar bone and was hospitalized. Vehicle totaled. No citations. Moose donated to charity.

July 7, 3:01 p.m., Crooked Lake parking lot: A black 1998 Ford Ranger was backed into in the lot sometime between July 4 and July 5.

July 7, 6:24 p.m., Bogard Rd. and Bear St.: Michael R. Bird, 23, Wasilla, eastbound driving a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox, rear-ended an eastbound 1996 Chevrolet Suburban towing a trailer with two jet skis, driven by Teryl M. Herter, 27, Wasilla. The trailer tongue broke, the trailer went into the ditch and the jet skis came off. Total damage to all vehicles, including the jet skis: $3,400. No injuries. Bird cited for negligent driving.

July 3, 10:29 p.m., Palmer-Wasilla Hwy. near Parks Hwy.: Dustin  Hill, 22, Willow, stopped for an equipment violation. Charge: DWLS. Bail: $1,000.

July 4, 3:33 p.m., Knik-Goose Bay Rd. near Carmel Rd.: KC Tillery, 25, Wasilla, stopped for an equipment violation. Summons: DWLS.

July 4. 10:55 p.m., Palmer: Shauna Hoover, 43, Palmer, stopped on a complaint from the public. Summons: DWLR.

July 6, 12:36 a.m., Gershmel Lp. and Fireweed Rd.: Den Michael Delaney, 19, Wasilla issued a summons for DWLS.

July 6, 3:19 a.m., Parks Hwy. and Main St.: Lisa Sheldon, 33, Wasilla, stopped for an equipment violation. Summons: DWLR.

July 6, 1:05 p.m., Pittman Rd. and Sunrise Dr.: Randy G. Shaffer, 42, Big Lake, stopped for an equipment violation. Charge: DWLS. Bail: $250.

WILDLIFE VIOLATIONS

June 29, Little Susitna River: Lora Orourke, 45, Chadron, Neb., cited for using bait where prohibited.

June 17, 7:50 a.m., Little Susitna River: Ray Hill, 25, Wasilla, allegedly drove his ATV in the riverbed near where he was camping.

June 28, 3:39 a.m., Eklutna Tailrace: Joshua Sanford, 23, Anchorage, cited for fishing with two lines.
