And what does noted trial lawyer Rex Butler get out of this unseemly charade?
Even as Gov. Palin’s political career comes to an end, people — media — continue to listen to this emerging adolescent as if he has some kind of insight regarding the governor’s decision.

It’s understandable the blogosphere would eat this up, and other publications like Seventeen or Snake Lovers Monthly, but for The Associated Press and others to give him the time of day is remarkable.
It’s not like he’s had a lot of chat time with the governor since the well-publicized break-up with Bristol Palin. So what information could he have? None. He, like the rest of us, can only guess until the governor tells us more. The point, however, is by giving Johnston an interview, legitimate news organizations are slapping her in the face.
Obviously they aren’t getting the responses they want from people who may have some real knowledge about why she wants to leave office. So they go to the “sources” who will talk, no matter their total lack of information or credibility.
And Rex Butler is there to answer the phone and make sure the deal is done for his herring-slurping sideshow.
In the meantime, The Associated Press and others continue to reinforce Johnston’s belief that he can actually contribute something to the world without having to work.
There has been talk he could make money as a model. That works. He wouldn’t need to move his lips except to be a little pouty.
There are also rumors he will have an outdoors show on television. Watch out Larry Csonka. At least a television show would be a good start toward earning a paycheck — with X percent going to Butler, no doubt — and it would give him even more minutes of quasi-fame. Or at least that consistent face time he seems to enjoy.
Such a show, if it comes to be, would also give him ample opportunity to talk about a subject he might actually know something about.

I think Levi has a life. Not sure what has your knickers in a knot but they probably need to be washed.

Gee maybe he is pursuing the book deal to be able to support his son. If Sarah can quit to pursue her book deal why can't Levi pursue his? "

Gee sorta sounds like a description of the "Quitter", who now twits instead of governing.
What did she say on July 3 in her resignation speech?
I don't want to be like other "Lame Ducks" and travel on the state's dime. Hmmm, what has she been doing since July 3? "

That is as close to a real job as you'll ever get. Remember the slope job you walked out on? You don't want to actually have to work, so pimp yourself out for what you can get, but remember, do it quickly, as the limelight fades just as fast as it lights. "

Write about something important. Levi is just making a buck off his relationship to the Gov and her lovely daughter. Give the guy a break. It's not like the Gov isn't making a buck off her relationships. If you have to write about Levi, at least talk to him and get his side of the story and that might be interesting. "

Levi being a young, unemployed, hypocritical deadbeat dad has everything to do with it. Because it's funny to note the people that would give this guy any credibility. (Again, I think that's where you hit a nerve!)
Oh well, let them take their prozac and calm down... "

What is your obsession about the term "deadbeat dad?" That has nothing to do with it, and never did. Your continual rudeness, and "Limbaughisms" betray your lack of original thought, and your barbarian tendencies.
In other words, stop being so rude in this public forum! Please save it for your drinking buddies. Grow up! "

It's interesting to note the 'sensitivity switch' that so many people seem to have. Ranting and screeching smear against Palin one minute, then trying to act like wounded deer when somebody tells it like it is in reference to a....deadbeat dad!!!
Tis why so few listen anymore when liberals start to cry and whine. "
To PW wrote on Jul 14, 2009 1:03 PM:
Most people do not enjoy being labeled or put in a box. It has nothing to do with being "overly sensitive," and only a pretentious boor like you P/W would describe someone who points out your continual crudeness in such terms. "

So only Sarah Palin is fair game, then? Sounds like more lib hypocrisy to me!
I, for one, could care less if people jump all over Levi. After all, wasn't it people like you that used the excuse that 'if somebody chooses to put themselves on stage they should expect this'? (Yet another double standard...that hallmark of liberals everywhere)
Finally, since when do we treat fathers who have more important things to do than provide for thier kids with velvet gloves?
Get real...your attempt to make this into something worse than it is, is quite sad. "

Few politicians have quit in the middle of their terms for such flimsy and trumped up reasons, Fewer still have gone on to pursue fortune and fame with such bald-faced vulgarity and lack of talent.
If Palin can pursue a book deal, why shouldn't Levi? Criticizing Levi only sets up an unfair double standard. "

We can listen to him or not. This is a free country, and he can speak if he likes. I very much appreciated his input. It made sense, and it was pertinent to the discussion of the day. Frankly, I have heard few explanations that have made quite as much sense as his.
Compared to Sarah Palin's double talking mumbo jumbo, Levi was clear, and put things in perspective. "
