A Wasilla man was shot to death early this morning in an apartment complex in Anchorage.

Anchorage police responded to a call at 1:16 a.m. of gunshots at the 600 block of Kelvin Street, said public affairs officer Lt. Dave Parker. When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the chest. Officers performed CPR, but the victim died at the scene.

He was identified as 24-year-old Robert Christensen.

From the people he was staying with, investigators determined he was from Wasilla and moved into Anchorage in the last week. He did not have a permanent physical address in town, Parker said.

Christensen’s next of kin still live in the Valley and have been notified.

Parker said he did not have any more information at this time, but homicide detectives are working the case now.
