Ambulance crew outstanding

To the editor:

What a pleasure it is to have a reason to write something positive for a change. We can never thank our volunteers enough for the dedicated service they contribute to our communities. A huge “thank you” to one and all who serve.

I happened to be on the receiving end of the volunteer service performed by the ambulance crew from West Lakes Fire Department recently, and believe me, I could not have received more professional medical treatment anywhere in Alaska. After a 911 call, their arrival was prompt, their actions were coordinated and they performed efficiently.

And who are these well-trained volunteers? They are Darren Stewart and Stephen Robertson under the watchful eye of Ginny Gee and Fire Chief Bill Gamble.

Once again, thank you for being there when I needed you, and most of all, thank you for being a volunteer.
