ASSAULT

July 24, 4:38 p.m., Wal-Mart: Kevin Wheeler, 40, Wasilla, allegedly knocked down a loss prevention officer trying to stop him for stealing a desktop computer, injuring the officer’s wrists. Wheeler was on probation for assault and had multiple theft convictions. Charges: theft, assault. Bail: $5,000.

ACCIDENTS

July 24, 8:04 p.m., Church Rd. and Parks Hwy.: Wesley Schwark, 18, Wasilla, rear-ended by a vehicle that left the scene. Courtney Squires, 22, Wasilla, later notified police that she was that other driver. Citations for Squires: not exercising due care, no proof of insurance.

July 26, 2:04 p.m., Palmer-Wasilla Hwy. and Roberts St.: Kesha Jensen rear-ended a vehicle driven by Jessica Cross. Jensen summonsed for DWLS.

July 28, 9:43 a.m., Nelson Ave.: Nicole Krus, 24, Trapper Creek, allegedly ran a red light, colliding with a vehicle driven by Leslie Wright, 32, Wasilla. Krus cited for running a red light. No injuries.

July 28, 6:06 p.m., Parks Hwy. and Alpine Dr.: Tyler Smith, 18, Wasilla, northbound, rear-ended a vehicle operated by Colleen Leonard, 50, Wasilla. No injuries.

WARRANTS

July 24, 9:57 p.m.: Matthew Nicodemus, 20, Wasilla, arrested at a traffic stop on $250 warrant for failure to appear on DWLS charges.

DWLSCR

July 25, 12:16 a.m.: Raymond Sloan III, 21, Wasilla, stopped for having an inoperable taillight. Summons: DWLS.

July 25, 12:47 a.m.: Peter Grossnickle, 33, Wasilla, stopped for an equipment violation. Summons: DWLS.

July 25, 4:25 a.m.: Charles G. Walker, 53, Palmer, stopped for having a broken headlight. Summons: DWLR.

July 26, 1:23 a.m., Parks Hwy. at Lucille St.: Dennis Noack, 50, Houston, stopped for an equipment violation. Summons: DWLS.

July 26, 3:55 p.m.: Kathy Walton, 48, Palmer, stopped for an equipment violation. Summons: DWLC.

THEFT

July 24, 2:04 a.m., Sportsman’s Warehouse: A man reportedly stole $84.76 in merchandise.

July 24, 1 p.m., E. Paulson Avenue: A 48-year-old Wasilla man reported that R-Gud Properties had been entered over the weekend and several laptops and desktop computers had been stolen.

July 28, 8:53 a.m.: A 22-year-old Montana man reported his vehicle had been damaged and his property had been stolen while it was parked at a business.

July 28, 11:36 a.m., N. Boundary St.: A Wasilla woman reported that $6,000 in glass smoking pipes and some T-shirts were stolen from Ogre Enterprises sometime during the night.

July 29, 2:44 a.m., S. Hygrade Cir.: A woman reported she was asleep in her motorhome with her two children when someone entered and stole a camera. The occupants of the motorhome scared the intruder, who fled the area. A Garmin GPS was stolen from a van parked in the same driveway.

PROBATION VIOLATION

July 26, 1:49 a.m., Mug Shot Saloon: James Marquis, 23, Wasilla, arrested for violating his probation.

DUI

July 27, 4:51 a.m.: Jenna Walton, 25, Anchorage, stopped for running a stop sign and speeding. Charge: DUI. Bail: $500.

VANDALISM

July 28, 6:26 a.m., Bogard Rd.: A can of food was thrown through the window of the Wasilla Food Pantry and several cans of food were thrown around in the parking lot. Damage: $250.

July 27, 3 a.m., N. Lagoon St.: Della Mitchell, 95, Wasilla, found to have died of natural causes.
