Our energy status quo will not sustain us forever. Fossil fuels are non-renewable resources, and we cannot drill our way to energy independence. Before we return to $4 a gallon gasoline, we must invest in a clean energy future that includes renewable energy sources such as wind, geothermal, hydro, tidal and solar that will never be exhausted. The costs of inaction are too high. We must call our senators and implore them to vote in favor of the American Clean Energy and Security Act, and thus, a sustainable economic future.

What should have happened in Alaska is: 1. utilize some of the states money to build a smelting plant to recycle aluminum.
2. start an aluminum can recycling program , like they do in the south, it would drastically reduce trash on our roads, and lessen the amount in the landfills.
Would lessen the amount of panhandlers as well.
But what do we know, we're just peasants! "
