" Winston Laughlin was one the most hardworking scientists and the most positive person I have known. After he retired he worked even harder for charities, his church, and his fellow citizens. Many mornings with the temperature hovering near zero, dark outside and the Matanuska blowing at 60mph, he would always say " isn't it a beautiful morning"? He always looked at the positive side of every situation. We'll miss you WInston. "

" Mr. Laughlin will be remembered by me as the man who made his rounds in Palmer collecting aluminum cans for a good cause. He did this for years regardless the weather. He was such a positive person and nice human being. He will be missed by so many. Winston, thank you for your example of how people should treat one another. "
