ALASKA STATE TROOPERS

ACCIDENTS

Sept. 30, 4:56 p.m., Palmer-Wasilla Hwy. and Meridian Lp.: Tia Talbot, 20, Wasilla, driving a 1999 Oldsmobile, was rear-ended by Brendon Snell, 18, Wasilla, who was driving a 1993 Chevrolet pickup. Talbot hospitalized for evaluation. Snell cited for not exercising due care.

Sept. 30, 1:21 p.m., Mile 13 Old Glenn Hwy.: Rodney E. Averill, 32, Palmer, southbound in a blue 1996 Ford pickup, rear-ended Aimee L. White, 33, Palmer. She had moved over to let him pass. She was driving a black 2008 Hyndai Sonata with her baby secured in a rear-facing child seat. No injuries. Hyundai totaled. Damage to pickup: $1,500. Averill cited for following too close.

Oct. 3, 8:40 p.m., Mile 11.5 Hatcher Pass Rd.: A 17-year-old Wasilla boy was southbound when he lost control of his Ford station wagon and left the road, rolling, and coming to rest upright. A private party took him to the hospital. He was cited for not exercising due care.

WARRANTS

Oct. 1, 4:57 a.m., Locksley Lp.: William R. Henry, 50, Wasilla, arrested on two warrants for failure to serve jail time: one on DUI and DWLR charges and one on a DWLR charge.

Oct. 2, 11:25 a.m., Trunk Rd. near College Dr.: Randy A. Pennington, 42, Wasilla, stopped for a moving violation, arrested on warrant stemming from a civil order to show why he should not be held in contempt of court for failing to appear for a judgment debtor exam. Bail: $250.

Oct. 2, 1:32 p.m., Wasilla-Fishhook Rd.: Holly Wheeler, 26, Wasilla, arrested at a traffic stop on warrant for failure to appear on a DWLS charge. Bail: $1,000.

Oct. 3, 8:45 a.m., S. Meadow Dr.: James H. Hawk, 21, Wasilla, arrested on two warrants for failure to appear: One for $750 on a disorderly conduct charge, and one for $100 on a DWLS charge.

Oct. 4, 7 p.m., Caswell Lakes: Bruce Patmon, 45, Willow, arrested on a warrant for violating probation. Christopher Sweeney, 45, Willow, arrested for hindering prosecution after he allegedly told troopers Patmon wasn’t there. Sweeney’s bail: $5,000. Patmon’s bail: $10,000.

ASSAULT

Sept. 30, 8:25 p.m., E. Kalwies Ln.: Cameron MacDonald, 24, Palmer, arrested for allegedly causing injury to a child less than 10 years old on more than one occasion. Charges: Domestic violence assault. No bail set.

Oct. 1, 2:30 p.m., S. Sylvan Rd.: Dennis Douglas, 28, Wasilla, allegedly assaulted a woman and damaged $250 worth of her property. Also, he was wanted on a warrant for criminal mischief. New charges: Domestic violence assault, domestic violence criminal mischief. No bail set.

Oct. 3, 1:02 p.m., Mulchatna Dr.: Arthur Mckee, 22, Wasilla, allegedly assaulted his roommate. Charge: domestic violence assault. No bail set.

Oct. 4, 4:26 a.m., Mote Vista Dr.: Jonah K. Rodrigues, 22, Palmer, allegedly assaulted a family member. Charges: Domestic violence assault, interfering with a domestic violence report. No bail set.

DUI

Oct. 1, 8:50 a.m., Mat-Su Regional Medical Center: Harry M. Watson, 66, Wasilla, allegedly drove his motorhome to the emergency room while drunk. Charge: DUI. Bail: $500.

Oct. 1, 11:01 p.m., Fishhook Bar: Darren T. Harris, 39, Palmer, allegedly hit two vehicles in the parking lot then left. He was found at a home on Forestwood Dr. and arrested. Charges: DUI, refusing a chemical test, probation violation, leaving the scene of an accident.

Oct. 2, 1:15 a.m., Mile 48 Parks Hwy.: Travis G. Bowen, 25, Talkeetna, stopped for erratic driving. Charge: DUI. Bail: $500.

Oct. 2, 1:48 a.m., Bogard Rd. and Leatherleaf Lp.: Jeffery S. Makay, 29, Wasilla, stopped for a  moving violation. Charges: DUI, DWLS. Bail: $500.

Oct. 2, 11:12 p.m., Seward-Meridian Pkwy. at Ruth Dr.: Richard Parks, 60, Palmer, hit a moose, which was donated to charity. Parks was arrested for DUI. Bail: $500.

Oct. 3, 4:40 a.m., Parks Hwy. near Johnson Rd.: Barbara J. Apangalook, 44, Wasilla, stopped for a traffic violation. Charge: DUI. Bail: $1,000.

Oct. 4, 1:15 a.m., Evangelo’s: Aron Jonz, 47, Palmer, got his pickup stuck. Charges: DUI, DWLR, avoiding an ignition interlock device. Bail: $5,000.

WILDLIFE VIOLATIONS

Sept. 30: Paul B. Wild, 21, Wasilla, cited for buying a fishing, hunting or trapping license for which he did not qualify.

REGISTRATION VIOLATION

Oct. 2, 10:35 a.m., Trunk Rd. near Timber Wy.: Brittany R. Johanson, 19, Palmer, stopped for a moving violation, allegedly knowingly had the wrong registration on her vehicle. Summons: Improper display of registration.

DWLSCR

Oct. 1, 7:30 p.m., Parks Hwy. at Stanley Rd.: Chad Coval, 25, Wasilla, stopped for an equipment violation. Summons: DWLR, no insurance.

Oct. 2, 3:35 p.m., Mile 33 Glenn Hwy.: Ruby Ann Christiansen, 38, Wasilla, stopped for a moving violation. Charge: DWLR. Bail: $250.

Oct. 3, 2:56 a.m., Mile 52 Parks Hwy.: Brandee Stone, 33, Wasilla, stopped for an equipment violation. Charge: DWLS. Bail: $1,000.

TEXTING WHILE DRIVING

Oct. 3, 6:37 a.m., Bogard Rd. near Cottonwood Lp.: A 17-year-old driver was stopped a moving violation. Summons: Texting while driving.

DEATH INVESTIGATION

Oct. 3, 9:04 a.m., Mulchatna Dr.: Robert Nicholai, 38, Wasilla, was found unresponsive and not breathing at his home. He was pronounced dead 14 minutes later. The medical examiner will determine a cause of death.

THEFT

Oct. 3, 11:33 p.m., Johnson Rd. and Hollywood Rd.: A 17-year-old allegedly took a vehicle from a home without the owners’ permission and also broke out the driver and passenger side windows. Charges: Vehicle theft, criminal mischief.
