ALASKA STATE TROOPERS

ACCIDENTS

Oct. 18, 5:54 p.m., Old Glenn Hwy. near Republican Wy.: Samuel L. Faller Jr., 36, Palmer, northbound driving 50 mph in a 1996 Ford SUV, lost control on black ice, went into the southbound ditch, rolled and hit a light pole. Minor injuries. Ford totaled. Damage to the pole: $2,500.


Oct. 18, 8:25 p.m., Mile 5 Old Glenn Hwy.: Kenneth W. Denny, 48, Palmer, northbound, hit a moose. Damage: $3,000.

Oct. 21, 7:01 a.m., Mile 1.5 Pittman Rd.: Tony D. Edward, 39, Anchorage, crossed the centerline driving a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado and hit a 1989 Ford Ranger being driven by Aaron Smith, 25, Wasilla. Damage to each vehicle: $8,000. No injuries.

Oct. 21, 8:32 a.m., Pittman Rd. and Beverly Lakes Rd.: Patrick A. Holsclaw, 33, Wasilla, westbound in a 2002 Chevrolet pickup, was rear-ended by a 1990 Honda CRX driven by Thomas A. Starr, 58, Wasilla. No injuries. Damage to each vehicle: $500.

Oct. 22, 8:05 a.m., Mile 93 Parks Hwy.: Nick Xiong, 56, Anchorage, northbound driving his 2002 Toyota Tacoma, lost control on the ice. The pickup slid off the west side of the road and came to rest on its right side. No injuries. Damage: $2,000.

Oct. 22, 8:30 a.m., Mile 95 Parks Hwy.: Pamela Rannals, 60, Talkeetna, southbound driving her 2002 Chevrolet Silverado, lost control on the ice and slid off the east side of the road. The pickup rolled and came to rest upright. No injuries. Damage: $4,000.

Oct. 19, 12:38 a.m., Shady Grove Ln. near Vine Rd.: William L. Murray, 30, Wasilla, stopped for an equipment violation. Charges: DWLR, misuse of plates. Bail: $1,500.

Oct. 19, 11:34 a.m., Mile 3.5 Knik-Goose Bay Rd.: Christopher P. Hasty, 25, Big Lake, stopped for an equipment violation. Charge: DWLS. Jailed until released on his own recognizance.

Oct. 22, 3:40 a.m., Mile 3.5 Big Lake Rd.: Shae Wells, 22, Houston, issued a summons for driving in violation of an instructional permit and DWLR.

Oct. 22, 9:30 a.m., Grizzly Bear Dr.: Troopers investigating a suspicious vehicle in a driveway issued a summons to Shanon Lovell, 27, Wasilla, for DWLR

Oct. 22, 8:33 p.m., Mile 2 Knik-Goose Bay Rd.: Luis Ochoa, 22, Eagle River, stopped for running a stop sign. Summons: DWLS.

THEFT

Oct. 19, 8:31 a.m., S. Big Lake Rd. near Fish Creek Park: A blue 2006 Harley-Davidson Custom Road King was reported stolen sometime between Sunday night and Monday morning.

Oct. 19, 11:26 a.m., Three Bears grocery store off Pittman Rd.: Employee Justin Talbot, 32, Wasilla, allegedly took a computer from the store two days prior. The computer was later found at his home near Indigo Dr. Charge: Theft. Bail: $1,500.

Oct. 21, 11:09 p.m., W. Finch Rd.: Someone entered a home through an unsecured door and stole $1,000 in personal items.

WILDLIFE VIOLATIONS

Oct. 18, 2:40 p.m., Willow Creek: Ernst A. Horn, 57, Anchorage, cited for fishing without a license in his possession.

Oct. 21, Jim Creek: Erik Boltman, 29, Anchorage, cited for not signing his federal duck stamp.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Oct. 20, 12:56 a.m., Jerry Cir.: Hugh J. Hansen, 42, Houston, arrested at a disturbance for disorderly conduct. Jailed until sober.

DEATH INVESTIGATION

Oct. 17, 2:20 p.m., Willow: Grigory Reutov, 63, Trapper Creek, found to have died of natural causes.

PROTECTIVE ORDER VIOLATION

Oct. 21, 2:27 a.m., N. Talgach View Dr.: Tamra K. Stone, 31, Wasilla, allegedly went to a home after being served with an order not to return. Charge: Violating a domestic violence restraining order. No bail set.

LICENSE VIOLATION

Oct. 20, 10:05 a.m., Mile 36 Parks Hwy.: Paul A. Fowler, 80, Talkeetna, stopped on a complaint from the public. Summons: Driving in violation of a limited license.

DUI

Oct. 21, 8:11 p.m., Mile 50 Parks Hwy.: Candace L.E. Theis, 43, Palmer, stopped on a complaint from the public. Charge: DUI. Bail: $500.

WARRANTS

Oct. 20, 4:15 p.m., Palmer Courthouse: Brian Kelley, 37, Palmer, arrested on a warrant for violating a protective order. Bail: $250.

Oct. 21, 12:40 a.m., Parks Hwy. and Lucas Rd.: Christopher J. Robinson, 30, Wasilla, arrested at a traffic stop on warrant for domestic violence assault. No bail set.

Oct. 22, 5:40 a.m., Willow: Eric Hunter, 25, Wasilla, arrested at a disturbance on a warrant with the original charge of driving on a revoked license. No bail.

VEHICLE IN STREAM

Oct. 21, Jim Creek: Robert Hancock, 22, Wasilla, cited for leaving his vehicle in the stream for three days after it got stuck.

LOST PROPERTY

Oct. 16, 11:55 a.m.: A woman reported her wallet was missing from one of the businesses in town.

THEFT

1 Oct. 15, 8:03 a.m., Troy Davis Homes, Parks Hwy.: A 1998 Chevrolet with Troy Davis Homes logo on the side and a lumber rack was reported stolen. It went missing that morning or the previous evening.

2 Oct. 15, 1:42 p.m., Wasilla Skate Park: A boy reported he’d been beat up and his $1,500 bicycle had been stolen. The boy was not injured and declined treatment.

3 Oct. 16, 6:53 p.m., Carrs: A boy allegedly stole $24.57 in merchandise.

3 Oct. 20, 7:05 a.m., Carrs: Two boys were stopped for shoplifting. Theft charges will be sent to Juvenile Intake.

RESTRAINING ORDER VIOLATION

Oct. 15, 10 p.m. police headquarters: A woman came into the lobby to report an e-mail a man had sent her possibly in violation of a domestic violence restraining order.

ACCIDENTS

4 Oct. 15, 11:45 p.m., Chevron station on Parks Hwy.: A distracted driver struck a concrete barrier. Damage was extensive to the vehicle’s left side. Damage to the barrier was minimal. No injuries. Citation: No proof of insurance.

Oct. 15, 5:27 p.m., Yenlo St. and Herning Ave.: Christopher Hudson, 29, Wasilla, allegedly pulled in front of a vehicle driven by a juvenile. Hudson was cited.

Oct. 16, 10:54 p.m., Parks Hwy. at Wasilla Lake: Police investigated a three-vehicle accident. No injuries.

Oct. 19, 3 p.m., Parks Hwy. and Lucas Rd.: A flat bed trailer came off the truck and hit another vehicle. Its owner was cited. No injuries.

VANDALISM

5 Oct. 16, Frontier Mall: Someone broke the rear window out of a parked vehicle.

Oct. 19, 5:05 p.m., 300 W. Swanson Ave.: Two windows were broken.

DUI

Oct. 17, 4:25 a.m., Mile 3.5 Knik-Goose Bay Rd.: Amanda Swarthout, 31, Wasilla, stopped for speeding. Charge: DUI.

Oct. 18, 3:58 a.m., Knik-Goose Bay Rd. and Foothill Cir.: Mekury Reutov, 33, Wasilla, stopped for driving left-of-center. Charge: DUI. Bail: $1,000.

WARRANTS

Oct. 17, 8:30 p.m.: Police responding to a report of a possible drunken driver found the driver in question, Alicia Storie, 23, was just tired. She was, however, arrested on an outstanding warrant and for DWLS.

Oct. 17, 7:55 p.m., Dairy Queen: Kit Brittain, 28, Arizona, was allegedly drunk and passed out in the restaurant. He was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear in court on a DWLS charge. Bail: $250.

Oct. 19, 2:29 p.m., Parks Hwy. and Main St.: Sergie Krukoff III, arrested at a traffic stop on $10,000 warrant for violating probation.

DWLS

Oct. 18, 4:25 a.m.: Laverna Baldwin, 35, Big Lake, stopped for having an obscured license plate. Summons: DWLS.

ASSAULT

Oct. 19, 11:51 a.m.: Darrin Schwartz, 43, Wasilla, allegedly assaulted a family member. A domestic violence assault charge is being sent to the District Attorney.

FOUND PROPERTY

Oct. 19, 3 p.m., Old Matanuska Rd. near Herman Rd.: A citizen found an abandoned bicycle. It was placed in safekeeping.

INSTRUCTIONAL PERMIT VIOLATION

Oct. 15, 2:31 p.m., Parks Hwy. at Alpine St.: Amanda Garrick, 21, Wasilla, stopped for speeding. Summons: Driving in violation of instructional permit.
