Allen Edward Palmer, 64, died on Oct. 22 at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in Palmer.

Allen was born on Jan. 7, 1945 in San Francisco to Paul and Doris Palmer. Allen was in the Air Force and was honorably discharged.

In 1974 Allen moved to Anchorage, living there for a few shorts years until 1979 when he moved to Wasilla and resided there the rest of his life. Allen was a truck driver and drove trucks for 45 years. He attended the Crossroad Community Church. Some hobbies he enjoyed included fishing, hunting, outdoors, Harleys and old country music.

Allen loved God and he loved his family. He was a generous man and would give you the shirt off of his back — granted he was wearing one! We love him and will never forget him.

Allen is survived by his wife, Deborah Palmer of Wasilla; son, Michael Palmer of Georgia; son, Sean Palmer of Texas; daughter, Kristin Steward of Wasilla; five grandchildren, Arianna Palmer, Gabriel Palmer, Victoria Palmer, Autumn Steward, and Natalie Steward; brothers, Donald and Roger Palmer of Minnesota; sister, Paula Addison of Iowa; sister, Pamela Norred of Minnesota; sister, Patricia Robinson of California; and sister, Judy Lightoak of New York.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Palmer and father, Paul Palmer.

The family would appreciate flowers.

The funeral is today at 2 p.m. at Valley Funeral Home in Wasilla. Pastor Paul Riley will be officiating.

The interment will be at Wasilla-Aurora Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Donald Palmer, Sean and Michael Palmer, Travis Steward, Dan Blair and James Rosendahl.

Arrangements were with Valley Funeral Home and Crematory in Wasilla.
